It’s definitely a different color. I can take some more pics :)[/quote:2l2z29f2]
Please do, thanks man! (and nice frame too!)

to my limited knowledge, it also plays an alternate version of "teargarden theme"…[/quote:1b76b2g0]
True, we called it (version II) on SPfreaks.

Is it the quality of the pic, or is indeed the vinyl from the gold obelisk copy a very different color? I mean, marbled blue-ish vs marbled white-ish? Otherwise we should update this entry, which is currently provided with pics of the standard release with some pics of the gold obelisk added:

I traded a regular pressing for it plus a few other things. Stickers, some marbles, a pack of gum[/quote:3nghskbr]
Inspired by the Dutch, as this is almost exactly how they obtained Manhattan, from where New York was raised, in the early 1600’s. You have family in The Netherlands, Geo? :)

I just feel like dedicating a song to all Belgium people that can’t attend the Listening Party. What a downer…

That makes 5 people so far: 4 from The Netherlands, 1 from Italy. It looks like the 25th will be fixed and final.

Where are the German -, Danish, Belgian, Spanish, Polish, UK, French and other European fans? And how about Asia, South America, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Africa and Canada? :)

yes the label,s letter is included and according to the seller it is in mint condition[/quote:1s8tczvo]
Deal of the year, Jeroen! And I’m even a little jealous now, because my copy didn’t come with that letter! :)

I just found the Gish gold-disk for only €5,-[/quote:35aq3jh6]
That’s a pretty good find. Few years ago I was almost as lucky; I paid around $30.-. The seller you dealed with obviously (also) had no clue what it was, otherwise it might have reached 25 to 50 times that amount, depending if it contains the label’s letter.

Hyping this here also, from the general section lol. SPfreaks was present at Ravinia with a few Adore related frames (thanks to Geo and several contributors of collectors’ material).

And here is how SPfreaks presented herself, with tons of thanks to Geo who spend a few nights designing and building this set up. Missing on the pic are a few smaller frames with Adore related cassettes and Adore artwork.

72, it’s mentioned in the article.

Thanks guys, for the compliments. Very very appreciated. Believe me, this piece took me almost a year to complete, Matt is so extremely busy with his projects, it’s unbelievable. :)

I stand FULLY corrected. Indeed, Geo grabbed a copy for me (told me it was supposed to be a 3rd pressing single disc black copy, but it clearly isn’t lol), but he still has it. So I just received a photo of my copy of Aegea, it’s number 554/1000:

Like I said before, my 3rd pressing single disc vinyl of Aegea is BLACK. I’ll post a pic later.

isn’t the 3rd (single disc) pressing on coloured vinyl? (lavender?) i think i’ve seen pictures of that. or was it part coloured, part black vinyl, just like the first pressing?[/quote:3emvyl92]
All I can say is that I’m hoping to receive a black single disc version from the 3rd pressing. I didn’t plan to pick up a copy at all (let’s say I’m not a fan of all BC releases, I’m the Cherub Rock -> An Ode To No One -> 7 Shades Of Black type of guy) but when a good friend happened to visit Madame ZuZu’s, he picked up a copy for me anyway. I’m hoping it’s a The Best Of release of Aegea, I might play it a few times after all… ;)

customs added another 30 euro to the already quite expensive price tag, making it a total of $125. lovely. :?[/quote:1otfnrum]
I have a little trick for that. First ship it from seller to a friend in the US, then let this friend ship it to you after taking away the tax authority info sheet. Then let him make up a new tax authority info sheet that will state its a (secondhand, if possible) product for a way lower price. For NL this price should be below $50, since above $50 will be taken from the plane/boat whatever, and taxed, I noticed. Just a tip… :)

Some more info about this project from Billy.

\"Also, my next planned release will be the start of a multi-volume collection of home demos from 1985-1990, which, if those who work for me can be believed, has over 800 titles to consider. But a word of caution, as these ‘works’ are all over the place in terms of quality, etc, as I was just a kid of 18 when I started making my own recordings; and not only do my influences show a little too hard in places, but so do my inadequacies as a sound engineer. To help avoid confusion then over what would be on the records, short sound clips of every release will be made avail; as many are instrumental or ‘vibey’ in nature and may not appeal to everyone (I didn’t really start singing my own songs until I was 19). Comments from those that have heard them though are kind and positive, such as (and I’m paraphrasing) those from Jeff Schroeder of SP, who told me that ‘it’s cool to hear you piece together what would eventually become the band’s sound, even at such a young age.’ And pieces these are!

Since these tracks have yet to be mixed, and I’ve a lot to go through, I’d anticipate the first release to come sometime in the next 2-3 months, unless of course I decide to make some public offering before I have the vinyl in hand; in which case you’d hear the compilation of clips sooner rather than later. To that, expect a double or triple first set.\"

As far as I know, but I’m not an insider of course, labels will contract their artists for a few things only. Mainly to release one or a few albums, or a fixed set of musical material, within a certain timeframe. Remixes, and where to preferably get them, are not mentioned.

Remixes, when they occur, are done under a new contract. Within the same label, or outside the label of the asking artist, it makes no difference. After the remix contract is signed, the remix is done. So yeah, financially things should be rather clear, then only the cultural (maybe I should have called that ‘political’) & artistical reasons remain to object to a remix being released. Like Sven suggested, maybe a financial issue might occur when ‘friends’ start doing a remix project without a contract.

The label’s role in this whole process is that they provide the knowledge and the network to allow things to run smoothly. They wouldn’t deliberately complicate things when they earn their money from a release (they can fuck things up though).

Furthermore, Puffy and Billy were still hot names back then. However, in the years 1996 – 2000 Puffy was also ‘connected’ to quite some killings, shootings and fights in the rap scene. Not sure if Billy/Virgin was too eager to have their name linked to that after all… We can only guess.

Because I don’t see Puffy say in 1998 \"Sorry guys, I wanted to give you a better price for these remixes, but yeah… My label doesn’t allow it. Let’s try again in 2014, then I’m free from the label that I own anyway.\"

All I’m saying is that it weren’t 2 labels making things extra complicated. Certainly not in this case, because one of the performing artists happens to be the label owner. And the other label clearly has/had the intention to release this Puffy stuff.

Yeah, my bets are on a bunch of 7\" and maybe one vinyl album. Although it are 60+ tapes, it is hard to imagine they contain (60*60)/4 = 900 different songs from 1987 – 1990. All tapes are transferred so the 25-50 songs (and I’m stretching it with that last number I think) that have a minimum of quality to be released, can be picked.

Sorry guys, this is the biggest crap I heard this year.

Puffy owns Bad Boys, is asked to do some remixes, for some reasons it is decided to not release them in the Adore era. However, now one of the remixes makes it into the reissue track list. So, what does this tell us? Puffy cuts all middlemen and can talk for himself & Billy’s label, then and now, has no issues releasing a Puffy remix. So it weren’t the 2 labels making things (more) difficult.

It was either a cultural (there was a lot going on around Puff Daddy, Notorious Big, Tupac etc. in those years), a financial or an artistic disagreement, I guess. With only one label involved.
