    ‘the truth is out there’

so we go down the rabbit hole?

I like this one as well:

The ‘Tao of Pooh’ explains Taoism by Winnie the Pooh and explains Winnie the Pooh by Taoism. It makes you understand what A.A. Milne probably meant when he said he didn’t write the Pooh-books for children in the first place.

Over the centuries Taoism classic teachings were developed and divided into philosophical, monastic, and folk religious forms. All of these could be included under the general heading of Taoism. But the basic Taoism is simply a particular way of appreciating, learning from, and working with whatever happens in everyday life. From the Taoist point of view, the natural result of this harmonious way of living is happiness.

One of the basic principles of Taoism is P’U, the Uncarved Block. The essence of the Uncarved Block is that things in their original simplicity contain their own natural power, power that is easily spoiled and lost when that simplicity is changed. This principle applies not only to things, but to people as well. Or Bears. Which brings us to Pooh, the very Epitome of the Uncarved Block. When you discard arrogance, complexity, and a few, other things that get in the way, sooner or later you will discover that simple, childlike, and mysterious secret known to those of the Uncarved Block: Life is Fun. Along with that comes the ability to do things spontaneously and have them work, odd as that may appear to others at times. As Piglet put it in ‘Winnie-the-Pooh’, \"Pooh hasn’t much Brain, but he never comes to any harm. He does silly things and they turn out right.\"[/quote:1uptkcye]

^^ we have a lyrics thread now

    a little thought crosses
over the patterns of the mind
    it weaves its inspiration
    and leaves the mundane behind
    savour the moment
    before its gone
    a fragment of the past
    left all alone

    Take me down
To the bottom of your heart
    Show me what’s there
    Can you see it?

    A spark of light
    Shining in the dark
    Glowing there forever
    Can you share it?

    A little piece of hope
    Leftover from the past
    Sheltering the moments
    Can you find it?

    No secrets kept hidden
    Be truthful if you can
    Don’t play games
    With the ones who care
If you fall into a trap
    With the poisoned minds
    Clinging onto your soul
    Let the truth be aware

    ………………………

    I sit alone
    In darkened room
    With red walls
    I wait alone
    For reasoned answers
    With muted tones
    I ask alone
    For peace captured
    Within my heart
    I doubt alone
    For what I cared for
    Within is gone

    Say goodbye
To the death of it all
    Change is inevitable
    It makes us seem small

    The only constant
    Being in the flow
    The only chance
    To ever know

    All is revealed
In the blink of an eye
    Have no fear
    There is a reason why

    Forever hidden
    Find it inside
    Go with instinct
    Follow the guide

    Painting these words
    The colours bleed into one
    Distorting the sight
    Running off the page
    Eclipsed by the vacant heart
    Shadows play in half-light
    Mourning the loss
    Broken shapes making no sense
    Move to the crowded room
    Waiting for a masterpiece
    Unveiling some form of truth
    Contemplative pause
    Reflections in their eyes
    A thousand words slipping
    Soaking in the rain
    Inspiration will return
    What is there to lose

This is an old one of mine – written around the time Siamese Dream came out, lol, as you may be able to tell.

Tell me now what does it mean
When the world is spinning round
Tell me now what does it mean
When we’re chasing our own shadows
    Try to understand, somehow
Feel the same, well, no one knows
    Where we will go

We need time to take a breath
Take a look at what is happening
We need time to take a chance
To hear our hearts beating in rhythm
And out there, is our world
Our souls drifting up towards the sky
    Forever young, in unity

We fail to look and see the sorrow
All our thoughts are for tomorrow
    Can anybody find the heartbeat
Of a world and of our dreams
Lost in time among the seasons
    No longer will we follow
Take the steps to make a promise
We just want to be free
And when we can we will
Our souls will soar and sing
    Up towards the sky

^^ hehe – we don’t get snow here, but my friends and I used to slide down a grassy hillside on flattened cardboard boxes. It was quite steep so we did fall off lots but yes, it is a lot of fun. :D

Knowledge of the truth be denied
    What goes around, comes around
    You’ll get your just desserts
Hanging on the edge of your seat
    Waiting for your turn
    Carousel spinning out of control
    The musicians play on
    Tinker tailor soldier sailor
    Heart breaker, movie-maker
Selling your soul for the silver screen
Up on the billboard for all to see
    Your time has come
    Don’t be a fool
    Fall into the trap
    Mess up your life
‘til darkness is all you can see
    And it swallows you whole

    Careless creatures casting their lines
    Hooking up their profits
    Greedy smiles on their faces
Not knowing they will fail one day
    The wall comes crashing down
    When they least expect it
Keep buffering it up with some mud and straw
It’ll hold til the next puff of wind
    A trickle of oily rain
No chance the wall will hold up
Coming down fast like a ton of bricks
Time to build a new one
Something built to be made anew each time
One that doesn’t need to hold up
A roof over a shattered society
The cause and effect of it all
Wheel of time and cycle of seasons
Brush the cobwebs from the ruins
This wall stands the test of time

    The Garden
Alone and still, a starlit sky
    sprinkled with feathered milk
    the silence is huge
    I wait for the brilliance

    Once the moon appears, awake!
    the garden is again enchanted
    illumination beyond the shade
I wrap this moment in foil

The vastness of the black open sky
beckons me to fly up there
but I’ll stay with my garden
    in radiance and denial

    Until the time is right
    forging new beginnings
    suspended animation
    waiting for a sign

    ^^ that’s good to hear :)

I like that poem, and the box of tears one.

    ………………………..

Scented leaves dance on the wind
Dancing to the tune of the seasons
My heart rests in timeless magnitude
Rising to the challenge of this art

The stars sparkling in the heavens
The sun and moon in endless circles
    The hearts of humankind wavering
    In their hurricanes of desperation

Sucked into the black holes of the media mass
Told to buy this then you’ll get some a…
Then when you have it you’ll want more
An endless search for desires never met

    Searching for peace and quiet
The answers come to those who wait
    Searching for that eternal peace
What was once lost will be found

I don’t want to be your queen
I don’t want what you need
In your eyes I see your soul
    There’s nothing there

Don’t you want to be freed
    Don’t you want to succeed
In your dreams you see the world
    Is against you

Why do you do this, it breaks my heart
To see you in pain, when will you realise
    There’s nothing to gain
And you’ll never be the same
You will always be with the enemy

I don’t want to be like you
I don’t want to do the things you do
In your eyes I see sorrow
    Its what you wanted

Don’t you want to be free
Don’t you want to be real
In your dreams you are beyond
    Anything true

Why do you do this, it makes me sick
To see you so hurt, when will you realise
It can’t go on and it stays the same
In your mind it never ends

you could try reading some of Mina Loy’s poetry also:
    http://www.cwru.edu/artsci/engl/VSALM/m … oyslb.html

    Another one from me….

Beyond laws and images of man
    Concepts of time and despair
Fires burning in the suburban sprawl
There is a thickness in the air

    I want to reach forth
Into the bloodbath of the future
    Soothe the wounds of hate
Heed the warnings of our culture

    Join forces into the underground
    Increasing and eliminating by turn
    Devoid of the facts
The truth we all can learn

    Signs pointing to the distance
    Invisible to those still asleep
    Awareness awakening those who dare
To dream of secrets we can’t keep

Secrets given to those who are willing
To leave this world of taking
    And take part in leaving
Our sorrows behind in the making

    What are we fighting for
    What makes us alive
    What brings our minds alight
    And keeps our souls awake

    A sorrow, a song, a sigh
    Fleeting feeling of freedom
    Thought taste touched tomorrow
    Reasoning right from wrong

    Resolutely designed for ourselves
    Culminating in initiation
Into the spheres of the mind
    Bubbles blown to the wind

    Invisible walls of the kingdom
    Resting on our laurels
    Will not change anything
    In apathy we lose ourselves

    Creative sparks need to fly!
    Fire up their passion inside
    Search the tree of knowledge
    Sending messages to the stars
