Smashing Pumpkins’ Tribute to … Tour?

What if the Smashing Pumpkins would do such thing in 2009? Just a few gigs, paying tribute to the rock heroes. What band should they pay tribute to? I’m going for… Thin Lizzy.

trying to think of a band with their depth of catalogue and diversity and i’m coming up with nothing.

Maybe something involving David Bowie’s career, for example.

I was thinking how Saturnine/Satur9 would go well with Bowie in a film scene, or something.

i like Billy’s version better than Thin Lizzy’s version of Dancing In the Moonlight personally, but i’ve never actually heard Thin Lizzy until here now- i know i need to brush up on my older rock

i do like Zeppelin though, that would be cool or maybe more Beatles or how about The Cure or Pink Floyd or something.
