Smashing Pumpkins vs Silversun Pickups that is. What’s the big deal in comparing them now again? I mean they might have said they are influenced by the Pumpkins, their name is with an S and a P, they have a female playing bass, but that’s all I can find… They don’t have that same epic-ness, they don’t have that shoegazer thingy, they don’t have the same sharpness, the Silversun Pickups are more androgyn urban indie while the Pumpkins were more grunge metal indie… Nevertheless, I like Silversun Pickups very much. Cool band, no doubt. But I just don’t see the comparison. Do you? Here are a few songs to get to know them better.

i don’t really see it. there an alright band, but they don’t really sound like the pumpkins.

they remind me of someone, i can’t think of who, but they don’t sound like the pumpkins at all. i can’t put my finger on who they sound like.
