Because that’s clearly a barcode that was added later by a store like eil.com.
No way these were sold as is in French stores at the time.By the way, I think I found why they put the tracklist of the cd on there: it was meant to be playing at the cd stores. This way, people could read the tracklist of what they were hearing, and in the mean time, check if they already got all the available Pumpkins albums.

Here’s what I think happened to most of these. They are shipped together, both sealed, and then sealed together. Store receives it, opens it up. Either uses it, or doesn’t. Mine came sealed completely, but had small cut to the side to remove the CD, which is also still sealed. Then they slapped a barcode on it to sell. Either the store did this or someone like EIL. I believe these came sealed together originally, because the display card is obviously meant to accompany the CD.
