      Hi guys,

I feel like doing a final Live Compilation, what about you? My best idea is to use Ayoe her elimination lists, and see if we can find good live recordings of the #1, #2 and maybe even #3 songs. Ayoe, feel like helping me out here to make a list of the eliminations songs here, so I can start searching? I’m sure Dazy is going to help also, since he ordered his live sets recently. And he has a really nice set of them!

OK, let me know… Should I move forward with this?

Here’s a ‘lil treat that any SP Fan/Follower should own, the Drown Winter 1992 Demo, sourced from Promo cassette: http://www.mediafire.com/?68iztapy982d3zs

      who fixed the speed?

i found the cassette this version comes from on spfreaks.com: http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?pa … &item=1686
maybe this entry can be completed now. (the track length for drown is definitely wrong here.)

the live show is 1992-02-05 montmartre, paris. http://www.splra.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tsp1992-02-05

the version of drown was recorded at waterfront studios. it’s not an alternate mix, but a completely different recording. wikipedia probably copied its info from here: http://www.spfc.org/band/studio.html?session_id=12

      old tape transfer: http://www.archive.org/details/tsp1992-02-05.shn

Will borrow one of Arthur’s 8) for that, thanks.

is the speed actually fixed, or was it overlooked that these are two different recordings and that they don’t necessarily have the same speed?

this is just a thought. i haven’t checked the upload myself, because i’m still at work.
      will check later.

the fixed version sounds a lot better than the tape rip, which is clearly too fast.

Entry completed, thanks for the research, Bram! 8)

And yeah, the fixed version of Drown sounds a lot better. I wished they had done that to the whole tape, since the Paris live gig is worthwhile a listen too!

I’m a-goin’ AWOL a while from ‘t Outernets, so hope everybody enjoys this release and takes the time to remember D’Arcy in; ”The Good ‘ol Days.\" :) Rawk awn and ((( Digihugs ))) to fellow Pumpkins. I’ve personally put several years into supporting Corgan & Co, hopefully that SP sparkle & magic comes on back as it usually does. I believe in them. \\m/ Rawk awn \\m/

This has to wait a bit guys, I’m in the middle of several interviews with the guys that arranged Smashing Pumpkins to have their first gigs outside the US/Canada in 1991, and it might all lead to a pretty cool read again (remember the Melkweg interview of 2009?).

Also I might have a new Dutch date/venue for the 1992 European tour, but that takes some more research. I’m even trying to find a recording of that so-far-unknown Dutch gig, but no promises… At least I want some more proof like posters, tickets, contracts etc. Keep you posted, as usual!
