The last few months we see more and more new members coming in (be welcomed, and have fun here! 8) ), but unfortunately there is also a growth in SPAM users. Around 90% of them use e-mail accounts originated from Google Mail (GMAIL), HOTMAIL and YAHOO to have their spambots create new accounts on this forum. So for the moment we have blocked GMAIL, HOTMAIL and YAHOO users to become a new member on http://www.SPfreaks.com and its forums. Existing members with GMAIL, HOTMAIL and YAHOO accounts will not be influenced by this decision, of course!

But… Blocked? No, not entirely… If you still want to become a member here with a GMAIL, HOTMAIL or YAHOO account, and you are a real person with serious intentions, you only have to send an email to the address behind the \"Contact\" button on top. We will then create your account manually for you. Just give us your nick you want to use, the password that you would like to use with the nick, and of course the GMAIL, HOTMAIL or YAHOO e-mail address to be used for the confirmation message from this forum.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but it pisses us off big times, deleting 15-20 spam users each day…

I registered with a gmail account. But recently, I noticed I no longer receive emails from spfreaks.com when someone sends me a personal message. This used to work just fine. And I can’t remember changing any settings.

Any chance the gmail blocking had side effects? Can someone look into this? Thanks.

This doesn’t happen with me, I had a few PMs last few days, and I was notified of them on my gmail account…

I double checked my profile options, and \"notify on new private message\" is set to \"yes\". That’s the only option that has an influence on this, right?

Never mind. I think I found the problem. Sometime during February 20, gmail decided that the warnings from spfreaks.com were spam. I now indicated that that decision was incorrect, and I expect the next warnings to arrive in my inbox again.

Weird that it all of a sudden decided that it was spam though. Until then all warnings came through without a problem.
