      haha i doubt it

they also managed to squeeze in YYZ (another Rush song), that has amazing drum parts and bass lines during an extended HMM in 2007 in ATL. obviously you can do anything live, but i bet no one else in that entire audience knew that the band was doing a cover right in the middle of their own song. it was awesome

i thought it was pretty obvious they were doing a string of covers.

      Heavy Metal Machine
      > White Rabbit [Jefferson Airplane] (tease)
      > White Horse [Laid Back] (tease)
      > Stranglehold [Nugent] (tease)
      > Tom Sawyer [Rush] (tease)
      > YYZ [Rush] (tease)
      > Glass’ Theme

maybe it was obvious, but the only song i picked out live (while there) was YYZ

      ah yes, i see.
i don’t think i know any of those songs. (maybe i’d recognise one or two if i heard them. but the titles don’t ring a bell.)

interestingly enough, jimmy rips the drum part in (i think it’s window paine) from stranglehold. straight up steals it. stranglehold is a damn good song. check out 5:55.

as for tom sawyer, it’s only the best rock and roll song ever written. :)

Funny that Nugent pops up again. We talked about him a few times before, and I used to be a big fan in the old days. Not fond of the guy anymore, but his music still ROCKS.
