Great to have the info on the albums, Monuments to an Elegy, and Day for Night…wonder which one will be heavy and which will be acoustic?

There are some songs listed as acoustic on the handwritten list… http://www.smashingpumpkinsnexus.com/ ‘Face Among the Crowd’, and another one I am pretty sure says (Ukelele) next to it. :!:

      And approx. 152 demos…!

And they’re working with Howard Willing, who seems to have worked with SP right from the beginning! http://www.allmusic.com/artist/howard-w … 0000275769

i really hope it’s not a heavy/soft split thing. foo fighters did that, and i like the pumpkins way more (negative association)

i do like the foo fighters though. ;)

We’ll be extremely lucky if we get a 1 hour song! Probably more likely to have 9-10minutes ‘United States’ style songs. Ok by me! 8)

I wonder if the albums will be released at the same time or separately? eg. one at the start of summer – perhaps the heavy one…and one at the start of winter. :?:

you seem to assume that there will be a heavy and a soft album. where did you get that?

no idea if the albums will be released separately or together. i thought separately, but that’s just my guess.

I am assuming….. the song list says ‘acoustic’ next to some of the songs…and the ‘guitars, guitars…’ seem to suggest the heavy songs. Also Arthur suggested it would be acoustic/heavy rock in a previous thread. :P

To add to that, Billy has had an acoustic album sitting around for a while: http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories … roove.html

The most personal record I’ve ever made I haven’t released. It’s been sitting in the can since 2004-05. It’s just acoustic, almost all finger-picking, country-style guitar — very folk-driven. [/quote:rxmgn2a2]

      I know :)

Well, Chicago Songs will be released sometime (supposed to be this year, but Matt Walker was working on them and seems to be busy with other projects now :? )

They seem to be working on ‘Monuments’ first, with 26 ‘STAR’ demos for it.

Another quote from Billy – April 2013:
“One thing I have thought about doing is releasing two albums at once, one that is focused in the world that everything needs to be perfect, and one that is done sort of raw like they used to make records in the old days.”

ok so they may be released together…

I don’t think there has been any talk from Billy about this one before, a nice surprise!

although how to get a copy when there are only 250….
