Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorno, no. that is \"what is a supernova?\".
who is supernova?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorwho is supernova?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorso far:
roxy music – avalon
muse – black holes and revelations
arctic monkeys – whatever people say i am, that’s what i’m not2010.07.17 at 12:30 am in reply to: Corgan re-re-reannounces releases from the Pumpkins vault #41952
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoryeah, i’m thinking the same: i’ll believe it when i see it.
also, i think we might be a bit too diehard to be fully satisfied with what comes out of this, if it ever does. i think we already got a lot of great stuff for free (all the demos and live stuff), and it’s not unlikely they’re going to use a lot of things that are already out there when they start releasing stuff from the vault. which i’d completely understand. just saying that we shouldn’t be too disappointed when this actually starts, and there isn’t much in it for us.
of course it’s easy for us to say what we’d like and what we’re less interested in, but i think that’s not a fair way of looking at it.i’m still hoping that this archive project kicks off one day. and hopefully they’ll think it through. i had the idea it was a bit of a mission impossible when frank quinto was discussing it on the sp.com board. a lot of expectations from all sides, combined with some hard restrictions (archive project has to fund itself, and ideally make some money too): not an easy task.
obviously, this archive project will never get as much interest as a new pumpkins album, so the budget is small. they could indeed go the easy way and get a rerelease of all the albums with an extra disc of b-sides and unreleased material. that’s the way to cash in for everyone, especially for emi, i assume. but it’s not the best way for the fans. well, not for the people who are most interested in this. i hope they find a better way. and i don’t mean the collectors’ way, with limited edition box sets and vinyls and whatnot. you have to be realistic, that can’t work. it’s a lot of effort and very expensive, and i just can’t believe there would be enough interest in expensive collectables. i hope they choose for quantity, because for me, it’s about the music. get \"new\" music out there.
i don’t see why it’s that hard, but apparently it is.
ideally, they should go in the direction of bob dylan’s bootleg series. not necessarily exactly the same way, with 8 physical cd releases in 18 years, but i like the idea of compiling releases of unreleased songs, or live shows, and releasing them separately. maybe they can release stuff online-only if that’s more interesting. i think online releases are less effort and cheaper. (this all depends on the market and on how frequently they release something though.)
this \"bootleg series\" way, they’re not limited by the rather illogical restriction of releasing everything in the vault chronologically, which might kill the project before it even got started properly. i never understood that line of thought.
and even though i said that i prefer quantity over fancy releases, i think i’d be happy with the bob dylan way, with only 8 releases in 18 years. if they can pull that off, just work slowly on each release, but make it worthwile, i’d consider it a success. even if that means a release every two years or so, like they did the greatest hits + judas o and the earphoria rerelease.but yeah, we’ll see. i’m curious about what will happen.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorlooks correct, yes. thx. one less bald journey to come home from.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoryou’re on page 1!
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorNo.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori will kill you! i know where you live!
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori think you’ll need more votes: the other designs will also get voted for in those two days.
i’m voting twice a day though. hope it helps.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori just realised it sounds better if you say \"ik kwam van een kale reis thuis\" instead of \"ik kwam thuis van een kale reis\".
i didn’t know this expression isn’t used in the netherlands.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorhahahaha DANCING BANANA!!!!!!!!!!!!! wooooooooooooooohooooooooooo!
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorit means you didn’t quite achieve what you had planned.
in this situation: i went to spfreaks.com to find the matrix code of the red us zeitgeist cd, but it wasn’t there.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorSISY? jebus christ.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorcame home from a bald journey," as they say here in belgium.[/quote:21hbhmh8]
what does that transalate as? I need to know so I can use it often!
[/quote:21hbhmh8]
van een kale reis thuiskomen. ik kwam thuis van een kale reis.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorah, that reminds me. the regular us edition of zeitgeist doesn’t have matrix codes yet in the spfreaks collection. instead it says \"sealed\". i wanted to look this up recently, when i was away from home, and \"came home from a bald journey,\" as they say here in belgium.
regular release: http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?pa … &item=1475
with promo stamp: http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?pa … &item=2071the matrix code is the same as on the promo cd, except that it has IFPI 2U6E instead of IFPI 2U7P. (i also noticed that the other ifpi code, ifpi L909, is present twice on both cds.)
can this be added?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorare those cds that are actually made in italy, or do they look exactly like the european ones, with a little silver sticker on the outside?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoryou’re on page 5 now.
edit: you now need one more vote to be on page 3! OMG UR GONNA WIN!
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori don’t really like the design, to be honest. but i’ve voted a couple of times already.

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorhup holland hup!
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorthat’s good.
now i suppose since i’m here i will make up some questions assuming you are bored.
if you could travel back through time to any place or date where would you go if anywhere?
whats the most embarrassing album you have bought? or the cheesiest song you like to listen to?
whats the story of this Herbert you mention in the first post in this thread?
and do you collect any other things besides Pumpkins?[/quote:3jpdp2bt]
thanks a lot for all your questions.i’d like to travel back to a nice time and a nice place (no war, nice area, good living conditions, …), where i can use knowledge of the present to make big fortune in the past (lottery numbers, buy apple or microsoft, …).
or go back to chicago in the late 80s and try to collect everything pumpkins that is so hard to find these days, as it becomes available. real-time collecting.
(i know this sounds greedy, but these are my first time travel related fantasies, so why not be honest?)most embarrassing album: no idea. can’t think of any right now. it’s not impossible that i don’t have any album that i find embarrassing.
if i can think of one, i’ll let you know.cheesiest song: the alan parsons project – old and wise.
my dad is to blame, as he used to listen to this when i was young.herbert: good question. i was wondering this myself when i read this thread. i can’t remember who he is. not at all.
herbert, if you read this, please help out!yes, there are other bands i collect. not as freakily as the pumpkins, but still. the biggest collections (next to sp) are probably david bowie and pixies.
but if i like a band a certain way, i’ll always start collecting their releases. i guess this is a hobby. i really enjoy deciding what releases i need, and then tracking them down.
i think i have almost all commercial albums and singles of say, arcade fire. but they only have two albums, so that collection isn’t really that big (about 10 cds and 10 vinyls, i guess).
and like that, there are way more bands. for some, i don’t even have all the albums yet, for others, i’m completing my collection with the last couple of singles or even compilation cds with a track that isn’t available anywhere else. for some bands i only aim for the studio albums, for others i go deeper and try to get all b-sides and whatnot.
not sure how many bands i’ve done this for. sometimes i start on a band and then lose interest and stop. which is better for the wallet, of course.
other bands i can think of right now, where i tried to complete a bit of a collection instead of just buying the one or two albums i’d normally buy: evil superstars, deus, the breeders, grandaddy, nirvana, leftfield, massive attack, the chemical brothers, the beatles, bob dylan, nick drake, elliott smith, channel zero, yeah yeah yeahs, the white stripes, queens of the stone age, bon iver, dinosaur jr, sonic youth, soulwax, air. and there’s more.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori’m at work now, and i don’t have any problems with spfreaks.com right now. yay!
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorugh. today was awful. i was so bored at work, but i couldn’t reach spfreaks.com. not sure if the website was down or if it is somehow not reachable from my work. (did anyone else have any problems earlier?)
now i’m at home. so i shouldn’t post in this thread. BYE!
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori wonder who pays him to write this.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorsounds a little bit too positive to me.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori’m not really a fruit person. i’m more a vegetable man.
there seems to be something wrong with fruit these days. a lot of it is sour. me not like.
my favourite fruits are sweet, and don’t require too much effort to eat. i’m lazy like that. i’m not a big fan of fruit, so they have to make it as easy as possible for me to eat it, otherwise i won’t.
most recently, i have been enjoying bananas, cherries, mango and strawberries. (i also had pineapple, but i can’t say i enjoyed it enough to list it in an answer to the question what my favourite fruit is.) -
