so this is basically a mistake on the american issue: they put the "fold over part" on the wrong side, so the back insert had to be placed upside down. (surely that wasn’t intentional.)
    right?[/quote:1wnlgkrs]

pretty sure it was intentional. obviously, i have no proof, but i don’t think it was a mistake.

the small piece on the side that’s folded over is on the right, instead of the left. this might be the reason the back insert is upside down: if you want to put/hide this folded over bit under the magnetic strip that closes the box, you have no other choice.[/quote:ccj17oak]
    does this make sense?[/quote:ccj17oak]

yeah, that’s how mine came, sealed. 8)

    Hi

I’m new here and have recently actually bought one of these Gish releases CAROL 1705, barcode- 017046170512….I look forward to contributing and benefiting from these forums from now on.

    Regards

    welcome! 8)

Yes, it’s a reissue from ’96 or even later. They were definitely everywhere in the early 2000s. My guess is that the most recent pressings are from that time (even if manilla is correct, and this reissue was first pressed around ’96).
Yes, it’s an official release. And of course it’s good to have. But it’s the most common and least collectable Gish on vinyl. (Or does the recent reissue win that prize now?)[/quote:2ens1xn4]

slight correction, it’s a repressing, not a reissue. even that is debatable, i suppose, as it’s the first US pressing. the UK second pressing is remastered, as is this release, but it’s the first appearance in the US so it’s almost like a first pressing…?

umm, i lost myself. so tired of all these remasters, represses, and reissues. i liked it when it was simple.

Do you really have that much stuff you need a warehouse to display it?

    Holy fuck![/quote:3eo03uw6]

to display properly, yes. here’s a quick photo of almost all my vinyl. it’s just hard to see and not as beautiful as it would be if i laid all them out and you could see the artwork.

oh man, i’d LOVE to! there is just no way. my apartment is small and full of dog hair (i babysit a friend’s dog sometimes). i’d love to take it to a warehouse or something one day though and maybe do some sort of video. that’d be kinda cool. :)

i believe most copies are corrected. the non-corrected one seems rarer.[/quote:1fy2n1xk]

i agree. they did a good job with correcting that error. maybe the uncorrected ones are just ones that someone ripped the sticker off right away so there is no way to tell. :?:

So i went to this garage sale today with my freind, and picked this up http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?pa … &item=1552

Clearly the kid who sold the record had no clue what he sold me. I got it for mearly 50 Danish krones, which is 10-12 US dollars.

Its a very good condition, used, but still good looking, and cant complain about the price ;)[/quote:m7iq5nqx]

    cool, ayoe! what #?

you somehow created a new \"billy corgan\" category, because it says 63 under one and 1 under the other.

    two billy corgan dropdown options.

Just from a look at MCIS era cassettes in the SPfreaks collection:

    1979 – UK, US, NZ
Tonight, Tonight – UK, US, Australia, NZ
33 – US, NZ (but UK only had a promo?)
BWBW – UK, US, Australia (there must have been a NZ release too – the song was very big here)
    Zero – US only

    Siamese Dream:

Today – UK, NZ, Australia ….wait, no US cassette?
    Disarm – UK only

There could be some gaps to fill in with these cassette releases – or not :?:[/quote:1wetxfbb]

always gaps to fill. that’s the fun in collecting. like the 1979 AU cassette i finally received in the mail yesterday. it’s the bees knees.

good job of that seller. unheard of.

i’d just like to state that this is not a 2000-ish reissue alone. i started collecting (heavily) in 1996, and that’s when i bought a few copies of this gish vinyl for $9.99. so the remaster has been around for quite some time. i’m assuming 1994/95 or so. there is really nothing that points to it being a 2000-ish release, other than the fact that we assume SD to have been reissued around 2007 as well.

    whatever, just, you know, saying…
