You’re right!! I was confused, I changed post, thanks!
manillascissorKeymasterI like Obscured, Apathy’s Last Kiss, and Czarina. If I had to pick the most underrated????, it’s be Apathy’s Last Kiss. Give’s me chills everytime.
manillascissorKeymasteryou said you lived in UK right?
manillascissorKeymasterThis changes almost daily, however, I think I’ll have to go with Cherub Rock. That song hasn’t lost its edge (for me anyway) in 14 years. Everything about it just kicks ass.
manillascissorKeymasterWhoooo eeeee! That’s a rare one, looks like. I’ve never seen it for sale. 1991!!! Awesome..
manillascissorKeymastersomehow there’s a lot of negativity surrounding the band, I really don’t know why… blabla about darcy and james iha (who cares? this band is cool! they played with different members anyway over the years, right?) [/quote:1yx1kiju]
of course there alot of negativity surrounding the band, that’s how SP has always been. In 88 they got people to see them because their friends said "god I hate the smashing pumpkins! you have to see them!" As i always say, they are the band everyone loves to hate. So many people are pissed off about Zeitgeist, but if they’re pissed, they’re paying attention. They don’t like the CONCEPT of it, not the music, because everyone knows it’s phenomenal. SP’s main idea has never changed. People hate them, find out about them, but they can’t deny they’re wonderful.[/quote:1yx1kiju]
You know, I have a hard time disagreeing w/ this. A lot of people do tend to hate the Pumpkins, be it Billy’s voice, or that they’ve "sold out", or Billy’s comments sometimes in the press. But all of these things, are what I LOVE about them.
manillascissorKeymasterHey Toad
Good to see someone else in here. Thought I was the only fan!I have a kind of funny story. I saw the Pumpkins in ’95 in Columbia, SC. It was an awesome show. Back when they were doing 20-min Silverfuck renditions.
Well, during this tour, they would pull like 5 people onstage to dance during 1979. The guy from the Frogs (Jimmy?) was there. He had wings attached to his clothes, lol. Anyway, he would go into the crowd and handpick people to go onstage. I kind of wanted to go, but at the same time, I don’t dance and I was too nervous. Jimmy came up to me (eventually-took him awhile to sift through the crowd) and he put his hand on my shoulder. He was looking at me, but I looked away. I’m so embarrassed to say that. But I couldn’t muster the courage to dance in front of so many people. I should have, but I didn’t. Anyway, he selected someone else nearby and they went onstage and danced.
The only good part of the story is that when I saw those 5 people up there dancing, I kept thinking how retarded they looked. LOL.
