Papa M : Glad You’re Here With Me

maybe you’d be better off with another man
for there’s a weight that must be relieved
I dread the thought of losing you but I would understand
until that day I’m glad you’re here with me
I have friends that may be better for you
friends that have not the fears of I
it pains me just to think of you leaving
I don’t ever want to say goodbye
    lover these powders are compelling
I don’t claim that it’s the way to be
if I am fucking up there ain’t no telling
I’m just glad that you are here with me
this morning they killed the candymaker
three shots to his head from a forty five
I don’t want to end up in the paper
or kill a man just to watch him die
I don’t mean to judge the man that murders
    I don’t care to un-sympathize
I am neither victim nor killer
I see myself in both of their eyes
but what drives a man to kill another
and leave his body in the dirt to bleed
    ain’t he also my brother
ain’t you happy you are here with me

i never understood that line of thought.
and even though i said that i prefer quantity over fancy releases, i think i’d be happy with the bob dylan way, with only 8 releases in 18 years. if they can pull that off, just work slowly on each release, but make it worthwile, i’d consider it a success. even if that means a release every two years or so, like they did the greatest hits + judas o and the earphoria rerelease.

I like those Dylan bootleg-series, and have all of them expect vol 8 & Rolling Thunder Revue. But those Dylan sets doesn’t contain "new" material, those have all been heavily bootlegged (expect vol. 8), sound quality doesn’t get much better in these official releases. Also for example cutting those great Carnegie Hall & Town Hall concerts from 1963 isn’treally the best way.

I hope that tsp could release something totally "new" material

yes.. EMI will surely handle this task… :(
Probably make remasters from old albums and add couple of unreleased songs here and there…

Gotta admit that Tom Paxton is Genius, and Seeger is of course great performer and probably greatest storyteller in history of music.

    No it is not.

    Death Don’t Have No Mercy
    Lyrics By: Rev Gary Davis
    Music By: Rev Gary Davis

I have no idea who reverend Gary Davis is, but he’s not from Grateful Dead. Dead has covered his song Death don’t have no mercy.

I don’t really see point, in these compilations since almost every song is available at archive or Zomb in FLAC/SHN format. And of course, full recordings there.

Also I don’t think ‘Death don’t no mercy\" is Grateful Dead Cover.

    Bonnie \"Prince\" Billy : I See Darkness

    Well, you’re my friend
    And can you see
Many times we’ve been out drinking
Many times we’ve shared our thoughts
But did you ever, ever notice, the kind of thoughts I got
Well you know I have a love, a love for everyone I know
And you know I have a drive, to live I won’t let go
But can you see this opposition, comes rising up sometimes
That dreadfull imposition, comes blacking in my mind

And then I see a darkness
And then I see a darkness
And then I see a darkness
And then I see a darkness
Did you know how much I love you
Is there hope that somehow you
Can save me from this darkness

Well I hope that someday buddy
We’ll have peace in our lives
    Together or apart
    Alone or with our wives
And we can stop our whoring
    And pull the smiles inside
    And light it up forever
    And never go to sleep
    My best unbeaten brother
    This isn’t all I see

    I know, I see a darkness
    I know, I see a darkness
    I know, I see a darkness
    I know, I see a darkness
Did you know how much I love you
Is there hope that somehow you
Can save me from this darkness
