The article said there were 3800 people in attendance (not a HUGE show) which leaves me wondering if he could have died some way other than moshing?

This is extremely sad, especially following on the heels of the audio released from the Dublin show. :(

No, I mean a fair beat-down with fists! (Follow-up to his poetry book?) Even if it’s fake (since Billy doesn’t stand a chance against those guys, lol!)

Yeah I know it’s all staged (prolly why most of pro wrestling always looked fake to me) but it would’ve been fun to see him \"smack down\" all of those guys!

As we are in the mood for having a good laughter with Billy lately, my reply is this Superlordspamulon.

Love how the guy says, "Billly Corgan from the Smashing Pumpkins!" in that taunting voice.

Well, is that all Billy did in the ring that night? I was looking forward to seeing him really kick some ass!

in reply to: \"That’s the Way (My Love Is)\" Video Question #3002

This might be a dumb question, but does anyone know what color Billy’s shiny suit is? I can’t tell since the vid. is black and white. I love it, though! He should wear it during a show.

Thanks for helping to get the word out, Arthur. I haven’t logged on here in a while ( been busy as of late) but I’m glad to see fans becoming aware of Veronica Grey and her unhealthy obsession with Billy. With famous people there always seems to be a few nutty apples in the barrel.

Am i Stretching it? Let me know.

Just please don’t flame me, LOL.[/quote:2c5mn2zf]

Hmm…I never thought of the song in that way or made the connection to the story of Christ…but it actually makes a bit of sense. There are several parallels that exist between the song and the story. I don’t think it’s stretching it: if anything it shows your (extensive) knowledge of the Bible. Interesting, indeed!

in reply to: How old are you? #2041

I thought I’d be one of the \"old\" ones here, lol! I’m 23…and a Pumpkins fan since the age of 9

This is just my opinion, but much of the vitriol being spewed is over trivial things or misinformation. It seems that the people most likely to hurl flaming arrows at Billy are those who’ve never truly understood the workings of the band; they see a quick snapshot of the band and are quick to jump on any perceived failings. Many of the critics don’t look at the whole picture or even do their homework. Case in point: the shitstorm caused by the FAKE \"Letter From Billy Corgan to the City of Seattle\". Some respectable news sources thought it was the real deal (and sadly, so did a small number of fans).

Billy has a very healthy, very powerful range of emotions.
Every has the ability to feel these. but most people don’t, preferring something to take the edge off or numb them, such as drugs, etc.

Anger, Doubt, Fear, Regret, Love, Joy, Sadness, Sympathy, Loneliness, Need & Wonder are all in the songs in bucket fulls, in different songs in different ways.

Some fans have focused on only one or two of these emotions and want all of the songs to be about that instead of accepting the full range.

This is why when fans say they hate Adore or especially Machina they disagree on which songs make the album bad.

SP are the first emo band (in a good way I should hope) and they follow in the footsteps of John Lennon and Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash who discussed dark things, wore their heart on their sleeves, didn’t just write to make hit songs, and also declared optimism despite their experiences that should have drummed that out of them.[/quote:39o71dyl]

Hear, hear! You hit the nail on the head!

I really don’t know what to think, actually. For one, it’s nice to have a choice. But it can also be a pain in the butt going though the process of buying several full-length albums just to get that one song. I for one bought the special edition with the book (maybe in hopes of getting it signed one day?)
