As far as I know pretty much all of the wooden box sets you see sold on ebay are fake. There must be someone who has them made, because you can ALWAYS find them for sale, and like you said, there are differences when you compare to SPFC.

Oh, but of course, if you miss anything in the collection, please send it to the contact email provided on top![/quote:2mr2uga6]

No problems at all, I had a couple of items that had different Matrix codes to any you had listed, and a few other things – i will pass them along A.S.A.P :)

Oh wow this feature is amazing, finally a place I can catalogue my collection.

My only issue is there are some common items that just arent listed (for example I think there is only 1 vinyl version of Gish listed, and not the one that I own), and then a lot of items that really dont need to be there (individual ticket stubs etc?) Are we able to submit new articles to you if they are missing from the list?

I would love it if you simply used the data from SPFC and made the ability to say what you have/want etc.

You must have put so much work into all of this. I am going to go and let all the kids at Ozphoria know about this as I am sure there are a few who will love it!

I’m not sure exactly what the comments you are referring to said (i assume they were on sp.com ?) anyway, the length of time you have been signed up online has nothing to do with the length of time you have been a fan, and should in no way be a reason to judge you.

I have been an SP fan for years, saw them in 1996 but only signed up to Ozphoria when Billy toured in 2005. No one there has judged me for that, and no one there assumes that just because you are new that you have only recently become a fan, or even if you have, that you are any less than they are.

Again, I am sorry to hear people were making comments towards you like this, congratulations on your win. I agree with Pipoka that I was totally let down by the way things were announced – that is not as to who won etc, but that I thought it would be a news point on the front page or something. And I didnt even know that points had been updated on a MySpace page or anything, I was just waiting on SP.com like we were told – but there were a LOT of unexpected factors that came in to play that stuffed things around and I totally understand that SPFreaks.com did what they could with the resources they had.

EDIT>> Ok, so I just read the blog, and that is a pretty full on blog for someone who didnt enter. The only valid point I think he makes is the scoring system. Why so convoluted? Why did the judges here have to vote with all these point systems, when the PMM’s only got asked to submit a top 3 list? And to make all of the voting visible was a bad move I believe. Perhaps they should have taken all the SPFreaks votes and made a shortlist, passed the shortlist on to SP.com to vote again and narrow the list down even more, and then Billy and Paul could have voted on the winner? I realise that saying that would have meant that I probably wouldnt have even made it to the SP.com voting but I just feel that the voting system seemed a little over the top. Feel free to disagree, by no means am I criticising, just giving some feedback.

Also on the comment about professional entries. I don’t know who he thought was professional, but all I can say is that I made my art work in Illustrator, a program that I had NEVER used before. I did sketches, planned images out in photoshop and then re-created it all in Illustrator so that I could make a PDF file (if I won) which meant that the artwork could be resized to any size without quality loss, because I was thinking as if it would be used as a real poster for a gig rather than just a piece of artwork. So although I do have experience with Photoshop, in regards to this entry, I was just as amateur as everyone else!

Anways, Congrats again Della, you were a great and deserving winner!

yay glad that you managed to get everything back up and running,
what bad timing for you to have issues, you poor thing, you must have been freaking out.
    Murphy’s law strikes again.

Hope you didnt have to work TOO insanely hard to get everything up and running again.

It does make a lot more sense, thanks for explaining again :)

Can I ask, did the setlists get rated visually? Because I thought you just wanted the songs written down that we would like to hear, as and extra to the artworks, I have never seen a set list that hasn’t been just black type on white paper haha.

Mine has to do with my photography. I was looking for name for my website/company/branding for when i start trying to sell my work.

Scotopic Lux is an effect that occurs when seeing in the dark, when things are only seen in black and white in low light.

    From Wikipedia:
\"Scotopic vision is the monochromatic vision of the eye in low light. Since cone cells are nonfunctional in low light, scotopic vision is produced exclusively through rod cells so therefore there is no color perception.

In scientific literature, one occasionally encounters the term scotopic lux which corresponds to photopic lux, but uses instead the scotopic visibility weighting function.\"

Wow that seems like a hard judging system to explain hehe.

Congrats to the top 5 so far, but I can’t say I’m not totally shattered at getting 15 out of 80?![/quote:29ii4bd3]

Yeah one of mine got 12. some up there don’t even have a number ?!
I was baffled that yours only got 15, but I haven’t seen the rest of your entry either[/quote:29ii4bd3]

Im not trying to say that i think i deserve more, but wow, out of a score of 80 to only get 15 was a bit of a shock to the system! haha.

I really do hop i get on the shortlist as i would love for BC to see my poster, but then we are all feeling the same arent we! :)

The point of the judges not viewing this thread is not to disassociate themselves from the artwork owner. The reason they will not be viewing this thread is to keep any opinions discussed in this thread out of their minds, to prevent swaying or bias.

We know whose artwork belongs to who, or else, how would we be able to announce the winner! :D

    8) [/quote:16fd8i8g]

No problems, I just assumed that the owner of the site would know who owned the art work and everyone else was judging blind. Anyway, as long as all is good :)

And exciting about sp.com announcing the winner but the 27th seems so far, hehe.

I kinda wish there was another comp to design for, was so much fun.

Just thinking out loud guys, won’t changing your avatars allow the judges to see your artwork in other threads on the forum?? They will know which piece is yours.

And I didn’t do anyhting for the setlist, I typed it on text edit on my mac and sent the text file in the zip haha, never thought of making it pretty!

Ok, I shall speak up, mine is the \"happy\" tree :) haha, and i totally get what you mean about it being a little too \"happy\" for SP :) Let me explain a little. Its kinda simple in its theory. The roots of it all are ‘smashing pumpkins’ what they have grown into is 20 years of that band. The tree itself is black and white but what it radiates is amazing colours and light. I wanted to keep it a really simple, even logo-ish image, as that logo also carried through on all of my other passes, t-shirt, flyer etc. In the way that SP have the heart logo (which i put on the tree trunk) i wanted this to be seen as an icon for this time period.

Oh and by the way, I chose that gig to make the poster for as it is my birthday :) hehe.

Anyway, like i said, there are some amazing entries…and now we have to wait. SP.com said winners announced 27th Oct! Still a whole week away.

There are a few there that i really like….
The astronaut one is really cool, and i could imagine seeing that as a gig poster – nice work.
I really like the last one with the heart logo with the 20 in it – really good idea, wish i had thought of it!
The lino cut (or wood, sorry im not sure) one is has a really nice feel to it.

There are some amazing illustrations in amongst them all.
I dont know if i should say which one is mine (im kinda nervous!), but i just want to wish everyone the best of luck, there are some great entries.

Mine is correct too (and it was the second email’s submission that was the correct one :) )

Also, i can only count 33 submission there, not 35, am i bad at maths (which would be shattering as i actually have a maths exam this afternoon! haha)

ooh darn i just realised the poster i submitted was not my final version, i had made a few final alterations – so i am going to re-send my whole submission – sorry if it is late and sorry for the inconvenience.

Entry # 31 just came in… How many more to come?[/quote:3m59dd4j]

I was just thinking this morning, I wonder how many entries there will be.
31 so far? Is that more or less than you were expecting?

It sounds low to me as a number, but when I think of the fact that my entry must have taken around 70 hours of work, then I think wow, 31 people spent that much of their time working on their entries – that is a lot.

And for the judges I bet it will be hard to pick from what ever number you get, but the more there is the harder it gets!

Also, is this the way it works – you guys narrow it down to a shortlist and then pass that shortlist onto the PMM and do they have final say or what is the go?

Well…thats it! DONE! The zip file of my submission is \"trying\" to attach itself to my email as i type!
I LOVED this contest but man that deadline move killed me! haha. I had so much fun though.

I should say hello, this is my first post here…you can usually find me over at ozphoria as i am an aussie.

Just wanted to say thanks for the contest, i cant wait to see what everyone has done!
