      Great paintings!

I love the cloud/eyes painting and those gimped up ones, very much.

I also paint you know, mainly acrylic. That’s like conditioner for the soul.

      thanks :P
you should post your paintings. I want to see them.
I do acrylic painting too. Oil and me is a no no…well never tried, but it’s too tedious for me and it takes them so long to dry completely-I have no patience for that, maybe when I am super old I will

oil is a pain in the ass and a freakin mess and it smells. i can vouch for that. i prefer acrylic too.

hahaha I actually have oils, but I just won’t even bother with them what so ever and they do smell gross too! and the mess is not for me as I already create a mess as it is..reminds me I need to go wash my brushes at some point today

washing out brushes that have oil paint or varnish on them is a bitch. i hate doing that too.

varnish sucks to clean off. I definitely am no fan of it..and I even ruined a shirt once from it.
but I learned sorta to not wear good clothes while painting, but sometimes I still fail :?

They look good. But YOU NEED MOR LENS FLAER!!1!1

K, but seriously, lens flare-d images look pretty cheesy these days. Repost without them please? :)

    • #38019

that’s how you see it
remember everyone has their own opinion ;)
so maybe when I have time to find the actual ones with out the flare stuff-I’ll consider

i can’t even photograph my paintings. i have so much varnish on them they look like they are embedded in glass. its super tough.

maybe rose knows of a solution for photographing super shiny paintings. i know you know all about cameras.

    • #38022

well… i would not use a flash to photograph them if they are really shiny. try to put them in a spot with bright natural light. and maybe use something as a reflector, like a plain white canvas, to reflect more light onto the painting… i’ll try to find some tips for photographing artwork.

speaking of photography… i have a job interview thursday :D

any tips you can provide i’m sure will be useful. i don’t know much about photography and i’m going to have to start photographing my stuff for a portfolio before i apply to grad school.

and yay, i wish you the best of luck. i hope you get it. :) is it another job like the one at JCP?

      JCP

um yeah flash does makes the varnish shiny, are you using a high gloss varnish? or what?
I agree plus you have to maneuver the painting I don’t know I certainly take more than one photo and see which come out better and I move them around from the light too-it can be a headache at times.

yeah, i use high gloss varnish- layers of it. i like my paintings to have a jewel like surface.

true, but you will just have to manipulate the lighting on it I suppose

you could do a part two of it… with arrow in the eye and red tears instead of blue.
or maybe not… er… too gory?
