what does this mean for your place in the fandom and what does this mean for SPfreaks and the message boards/ online community?

I’ve been in the communities every time something big like this happened. The first time Jimmy left, the break up of the band. There will always be a community. The band may throw us through a hundred loops, but we’re all friends and we’re not going to split just because what brought us together has a few hiccups.

Roger that. And work on the online SP collection is never over also, so I will be around too. Besides, Billy Corgan will still record music under the name Smashing Pumpkins I presume. -

Does it even count as the Smashing Pumpkins anymore? I mean, BC/JC WERE the spine of the band. When Jimmy ‘quit’ last time (Adore) there was still D’Arcy and James to keep it as SP, and back with Zeitgeist you had the BC/JC team, it was still Pumpkins then.
But now? Fuck this sucks.
And also: No more albums, SP are now a ‘singles’ band, selling Today for a VISA add for fucks sake…
I’ve pretty much lost faith in the modern SP. It just isn’t SP anymore.

i don’t know if i consider this to be the SP though anymore. i will count it as Billy solo though? i don’t know what i think about that yet.

I just can’t see how he can’t drop the SP trademark (perhaps it’s worth to many $1000000?) and just settle for a new one. Zwan were awesome in every aspect. In the long-torm this will severely damage the trademark as it already has. This is a very sad \"ending\" to it all… You just have to let good things rest and not dig up the rotten corpses… I think Jimmy is going to do a kickass project now that he is finally \"free\", as he did with his solo work!

Billy can do it, I have confidence in him! Why couldn’t he? He created the name SP..now the live band is different, the lyrics and music that’s Billy except the drums that’s Jimmy, but didn’t Billy supposedly play the drums on I Am One, or was it a different Gish song? Or was that a Pumpkin joke?
I have no worries…

I dont believe its hacked seriously, if it was hacked they would have fixed it in a short matter of time.
For the record, goddamn i hate those haters/fucktards at SP.com thats still stuck in the fucking 90´s or critizice anything BC is doing or want to do in the future, can they just go and stab them self in the face or something.

to get back to the initial question-
i just don’t know-
i guess to me TSP was always a deal of people surrounding BC that mattered to the sound.
when JC overdosed and all in 1996 and the band was there for BC to carry on (with Matt) and DW and JI were there for BC to take TSP thru Adore and BCs loss of his mother and all – i guess this was more than ok to me. i’ve only seen TSP once with Matt on drums in 1997 @ rock werchter and the show was very strange (setlist wise) and all, but it felt right…
dw out and madm in felt right too-
reunion with just JC and BC felt strange first, but quickly clicked and felt ok-
now- i can just only say- wait and see for me- i just can’t say- to me TSP with only BC doesn’t seem like TSP to me know; however, the man might prove us all totally wrong and publish a redeeming album/EP/whatever which knocks us all off our feet- just wait and see…. i guess…
TSP has suffered a severe blow-
TSP might survive- we’ll see, right?
JCC will do a new album (and possible tour) so— wait and see-
And maybe we’ll see Matt Walker again drumming for TSP…
Somehow that doesn’t seem too strange to me in a way…Wait and see?
I won’t just give up on BC— -
yeah i don’t really like the forum very much. i may post every once in a while but the majority of people are way too immature and it is too busy, i still like the smallness of here and sense of community. the only sense i get from the forum is i am lost in a huge crowd of teeniebopperboogerheads or something i don’t know. i just don’t like it very much over there sorry if anyone reading this gets offended.
and this whole thing with jimmy seems weird still. it feels like bc got dumped maybe. i dunno. i’m glad they still are on good terms and no drama like jc said, but it still feels weird.

try to imagine::::
if music is your all and everything and true passion-
and a lot or almost all and everything seems to deviate from the music-
and/or distracts you from the energy and spiritual vibe you have with the music and this band-
be it BCs negativity or the fans or the commercial aspect or the Congress thing or how to plan a tour or to plan Era-Tours and then because of a law-suit not to be able to do that or other machinations of the business…
the energy runs dry sooner or later-

at least: for JC it has, so it seems…

i think it’s understandable-
and ok-
and totally ok at that-

if your heart is not into it and you just know it..it just smacks you one day and Bam it’s time to be done…then you have to figure out how to get out of it..and then Bam one day it happens…

Maybe Billy and his subscription service will be some sort of inside his process of writing…with having soo many songs to create for a potential album, after the singles are released over time to make the album.The songs that aren’t on the album per say are offered through the subscription service !

that would be really cool if the subscription had some kind of bonus like that. i want to join it, but i hope it doesn’t cost too much.
and yep, i am just waiting for the right time then i will prob quit my job. but who knows how long that will be. i have to make sure we will still be able to pay the bills. sucky bills blagh!
