      Billy Corgan is currently searching for talented musicians to join him. If you have an exceptional drumming ability and a desire to be part of a massive creative and progressive musical project with a rich 20-year history, then continue reading below.

      The Smashing Pumpkins are continuing to make music after the departure of original member Jimmy Chamberlin. When Jimmy originally auditioned for The Smashing Pumpkins, he was playing in a locally touring jazz band that was playing weddings and street fairs. It just goes to show that you never know where the next big talent will come from.

      The Smashing Pumpkins are taking submissions for recording and touring drummers. There may be multiple positions open for this call for entries.

      What to submit:

      * Resume – include a list of bands, shows, awards, education
      * Photograph / headshot
      * Any music / audio you have showcasing your talents. Links to digital files are encouraged.
      * Video links are also encouraged

      To submit your information, send an email with resume and links attached to pumpkinsdrummer@gmail.com.

      Imagine the feeling of knowing who you’re auditioning for on this day, some fortunate Drummer/s out there and they don’t know it yet.

      Kind of sad to see something so final, I’m just happy they’re all following their dreams.

      I think it’s cool how they are giving a fan a chance to audition for the band.

      I just hope the person the gets the job can put up with Billy’s work ethic. :)

      my worry is how do you feel Jimmy’s shoes. he’s the most kick-ass drummer ever! that would have to be nerve wracking. plus he is so loved.

      I guess the vacancy and advert is kinda cool—

      You just never know if a new Jeff or Ginger shows up; now in the guise of a drummer ;)

      However-

      both in recording and touring this is MASSIVE task at hand-

      Better be prepared to dig in deep ;)

      That Phil Mckenna guy (I hope I spell his name right) is highly supported. I can see why, I have seen some of his vids in the past, and he is not only a very good drummer, he is very funny too. Thing is, 2 big egos in 1 band… it can go haywire very quickly. They have to learn to play with each other, for each other. If that can be realized, I think it would be awesome to see Phil taking the SP sticks. But I’m sure there is a lot of other (yet unknown) competition also.

      But Jimmy shouldn’t have left in the first place, I’ll miss him… :cry:

      i watched some of that guys videos earlier and he is pretty good. he just doesn’t seem good enough to me. i suppose no one will seem good enough compared to Jimmy though. :cry:

      Phil’s not bad, but I’m sure there are more than just Phil out there though..Will be interesting to see who gets the job..It’s a HUGE job to fill.
      Here is my bitch factor.. Phil-yay you can play old SP music..But Billy isn’t trying to play old SP music
      Can you hang with the whatever he has in store?
      Jimmy and Billy have a connection..I’m sure someone out there will be able to fill the shoes, but I can’t put all my apples into the Phil basket..
      But it would be fantastic to have an SP fan from the community..except I don’t think he is really on there much

      he is good, but i just don’t think he is Jimmy powerful if you know what i mean. Jimmy can pound the hell out of the drums. i mean holy fuck- Metro Ode to No One… :shock:

      Can you imagine that they all have to play a 35 minutes version of Gossamer, and that Billy has to listen to them all? It will take 25 days non-stop, the audition! :lol:

      The first update from the recent drummer auditions in Los Angeles has come to SP.com!

      In total, 12 drummers were auditioned on Tuesday. An additional tryout could potentially be held in May due to such overwhelming response to the audition process.

      Overall the drumming auditions were considered a very positive experience. The talent in all the drummers that tried out was incredible.       Awesome!!! John Dolmayan is a great drummer, but i dont think billy will choose him cos he came from another big band. So i guess Jeff´s mate stands a better chance.
