I finally found a genuine DVD release of the video for The End Is The Beginning Is The End. And it was fucken’ easy after all… It’s on a Special Edition 2DVD of the Batman & Robin movie. It’s between the bonus material, which also contains 4 videos. And… I only paid ⬠8,50 for it. Boy, I’m happy! I love that song and the video to it.

TEITBITE, not the best video (nor the worst). The song has such beautiful imagery- they could have done something better with it.
Now back on topic.
The most recent item I bought was the Hut double disc Adore with the interview CD. While listening to the interview disc I discovered James likes to listen to Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. Go figure.

Trade ads come from promotional record label magazines, and are pretty rare, as these are usually tossed after a quick thumb through.

Just to be sure about this, see this pic (again) and let me point you to the second-from-left little poster (just behind the I Am One 10\") and the little poster in front of the TAFH award, left of the Earphoria UK poster. Both are French A4 size promo \"things\". Are you saying the Earphoria UK poster (cardboard indeed) is a promo flat and the 2 French posters (thick shiny 2 x A4 fold out papers each, I thought they were Order Forms and hopefully you get what I mean here) are called Trade Ads (also)?

That is precisely what I’m saying.
The Greatest Hits thing you have is definitley not a promo flat.
Promo flats are meant to be displayed in stores. They usually send around 10 or so, maybe with some CDs and posters as well. If inspired, your store can hang them in a display. If not, they are either trashed or sold or given away.
And just underneath the store display, you may find a trade ad inside a magazine provided by certain labels for release dates and such. I think the trade ads usually precede the flats, but only by a month or so.
And promo flats are typically 12 x 12. I’ve personally never seen one that was a different size.

When I get the DVD Arthur I will provide scans. I do think the cover is anachronistic. Plus I think the performance is with the "original" Pumpkins, not the new line up. I don’t care though as I like both.

i like pi, it is good.
i watched the intmate and interactive the other nite, it was good, but d’arcy’s singing was a bit off, she didn’t seem in a good mood for the interview either.
i liked it when they had questions from the audience, and a boy called on the phone, and then him and billy were talking about guitars and such, the lady doing the interview (the host i geuss) kept trying to get them to stop, they talked guitars for like 5 mins before she made them stop.
and someone asked a jimmy question, and billy was upset. but it was not long after the whole incident when they did the show.
but in all i really enjoyed it, and loved all the songs from adore that they played.

Sounds like you have same organizing to do, because thats pretty bad.I just got my Adore press kit in the mail the other day. Its pretty cool and comes with two pages of info about the band Virgin sent along. Part of it lists how well MCIS sold in other countries around the world and another listed all of the awards the band had one up to that point. I was a suprised to see how many they had received and how many MCIS were sold.

My parents would NEVER do such thing. Instead they phone me when I was in Germany last weekend, to tell me there was a broadcast on Dutch tv later that night with a few tracks of the Pinkpop Festival last year. They ask me if they should record it for me… is that sweet or what?
I asked them to record it, as so far (to my knowledge) nothing of this festival was ever broadcast.

i think i may have sp overloaded her when i was a teenager, and she got mad at me, and got rid of all of my sp stuff, well actually all my stuff. sp included, i was upset, but not anymore, and i can and will get it all again, and she won’t be able to touch any of it.

weird that spfreaks.com only has the one that comes in a jewel case. i can’t check right now, but i’m fairly certain that i have this promo, but in a plastic sleeve with paper inserts. i would even be inclined to say that the plastic sleeve one is more common than the one that comes in a jewel case.
i wouldn’t be afraid of this being a fake.
i’m not saying the jewel case one is a fake, but it’s more likely that someone put the paper inserts from the plastic sleeve and put them in a jewel case, than the other way around. (my bet is that both versions are real and were released as such though.) -

It contains a Smashing Pumpkins track, that’s why I badly wanted it. But I only just now found out it’s Rhinoceros, because I just received it. And the whole compilation: awesome listening experience! So glad to finally have it! And many many thanks goes to our webmaster (and personal friend if I may say so) manillascissor that helped me getting this one. You rock mister!

the b-sides they put out on the Ava Adore single were decent — or at least ‘Once In Awhile’ was a really good song. the other one, czarina, or whatever, yeah, don’t listen to that song ever.
and ‘summer’, from the Perfect single… blech. just blech. with b-sides (just like deleted scenes on DVDs), sometimes it’s like, \"wow, that shoulda been left in\" other times it’s like \"wow, can’t always write brilliance, maybe shoulda left this one on the cutting room floor\".
so yeah, sorry to rain on your parade, but that Perfect single sucks. maybe i should sell mine on eBay…

I think czarina / Once in a while and summer are great songs.But the Perfect singel i bought is the Japan PROMO.Got the standard singel if you can call it that,but the Japan PROMO was missing in my collection so those 26 dollars was well paid i think

a quick question
i just got my TFE promo and it says \"restricted release watermarked disc\" along the bottom of the sleeve.i was just wondering if anybody knows what a watermarked disc is. it says something on it about there being a unique identifier that allows the record label to identify the intended recipient as the source of unauthorized copies.
what does this mean? is there some kind of extra coding or something on the disc?

yay, i won a red vinyl Today 7\" on ebay. i was a bit worried i wouldn’t get it and i had to go to work for a bit this morning, so i couldn’t be there at the end of the auction. i left a fair sized bid on it though hoping it wouldn’t actually cost me that much of course- and it didn’t. no one bid on it in the last 3 hrs of the auction and its a mint one too.

The boxes could have been assembled at two different locations and therefore the hinges are different…. or there were two suppliers of hinges to the final assembly line. I purchased my the day it came out at Best Buy and it has the so-called \"second pressing\" hinges. A promo box I have also has the \"second pressing\" hinges; one would believe that a promo box would be one of the first off the line.

there definitely is a first and second pressing.you’re right though, the boxes in the spfreaks collection have different hinges for the different pressings, but this doesn’t mean this is a correct way to identify different pressings.

Well my TAFH box does not have a barcode on it anywhere, nor does it have the songs listed on the back of the box. It’s just the box design and nothing else on it..and on the cd’s itself no barcode-which I assume none of the cd’s have that…
So how am I to figure out which pressing I have if there is no barcode and it’s suppose to have one…

i got to looking at mine also, the hinges look like the ones for the second pressing, and also have no white paper on the back, and the cd’s inside also have no barcodes on them, the code is on the left side next to the title on the spine of the cd case. so what does that mean? are me and reggaes just strange?

no, no, they all look identical. ok, there are different hinges on some, but as far as i know, the box and everything inside the box is identical for every copy of the box set, no matter where or when it’s been released.
the piece of white paper with the barcode and tracklist was attached on the back of the box right before it was sealed. if you bought your box second hand/not sealed, it’s not so strange that it didn’t come with the barcode label. it is a separate piece of paper that doesn’t really go anywhere and i guess many people didn’t keep it (and why would they, right?).
and when i say \"not so strange\", i think i mean \"not strange at all\".the cds don’t have a barcode, because they’re part of the box set. they don’t need a barcode, since they’re not meant to be sold seperately. (that’s the easiest way to recognize a cd from the box set, by the way: there’s no barcode. if it were one of the commercial singles, there would be a barcode.)

i just realized that the UK release, which has the same international release code as the first US pressing, has different hinges than the first US pressing.
one would think that the UK release was also part of this first pressing, right? since it has the same release code and all.so there we are. you can’t conclude much from the hinges.

don’t just look at the last number. the entire release code is different.also, i didn’t read the last posts good enough. as far as i know, the second pressing was US only. there’s only one pressing with the UK release code.

of course it’s an official deal. how else would they be able to pull this off?and i’m sure it will be high quality, professional recordings. the quality could be discussed though: it’s not impossible that they try to get these out asap, not spending enough time on mixing it properly, etc.
it would be cool though if they would make a proper cd release. this is, factory pressed cds (maybe limited to 1000 or 2000 copies), and artwork/packaging that is a bit more decent than a recycled cardboard sleeve with a sticker.
http://www.pixiesmusic.com sells limited cds, and they’re factory pressed and come in a nice digipack. the nice product and the fact that it’s limited makes it ok to ask $25 for it. asking $22 for a cd-r (or two), or $18 for a flac download, seems a bit much for me… -

IF they’re from Kufala, I can give you a heads up, as I own all the Pearl Jam ones. They are top notch quality. Cardboard digipacks with a wraparound sticker with artwork and tracklisting on the back. The discs have printing on them (a picture). They don’t even really look like CDR’s. Brand spankin new sealed copy of MCIS triple vinyl, 14,205. I was glad to find this, havnt seen many of the AUTHENTIC versions that were still sealed, but I havnt been collecting Pumpkins memorabilia long. Ive been collecting vinyl for years now but just recently started collecting pumpkins vinyl. I wasnt savy to the bootlegs until I emailed arthur after id allready won an ebay auction on a bootleg copy for $200…fortunately, I caught it in time and didnt have to pay for it after I made a claim. Needless to say, the buyer was out of Germany and after the claim he withdrew from all his other auctions and started selling the boots again under the name missliszie…

Seriously, I’m not kidding at all. I’m working in IT as a consultant, and as you probably know, people don’t stick around that long. So reaching 10 years is quite something. So we get a really nice present. They asked me what I wanted within a certain budget, and it seemed that the CD-set was exactly within the budget. I asked for it yesterday and my boss emailed me back today: You’re gonna have it.
