i still need some recent US releases for my collection

i think this is what i still need:
    [list:1nbyxmdv]oceania lp
    pisces iscariot lp
    mcis deluxe cd+dvd box
    tafh lp[/list:u:1nbyxmdv][/quote:1nbyxmdv]
(got the tafh cd+dvd box in the mean time.)

does anyone know if amazon.ca sells the US version of the above releases? or do they sell the EU version for some/all of these releases? has anyone bought any of the above from amazon.ca? what release did you get?
(i don’t need an answer for the tafh lp, as that release is US-only, worldwide.)

i’ve noticed canada sometimes has the EU version of some releases, and not the US one. at least, that’s what i seem to remember.

    ola! bonjour, hi

    all is going well

yeah, sometimes it just has to be done.

i just came back from india. i didn’t see any record shops, unfortunately. it would’ve been cool to find some indian sp related cd releases. i assume they’re quite cheap there. oh well.

    very noice! :)

I’ve finally got that TAFH reissue box set. (I still need to get it on vinyl one day.)

yeah, it’s not very rare or valuable.

that person who was promoting his copies of astral planes and widow make my mind on sp.com ($300 each or $500 for the pair), ended up selling astral planes on ebay for $150, and widow wake my mind for $90.

i personally think for astral planes, a price around $100 is realistic.

i remember looking for that astral planes 7\" for a very long time.
but now i already have it.

I’ve never been able to find any info on it, do any of you know anything?[/quote:n4dc3ss0]
what info are you hoping to find on it?

in reply to: Oceania Live In NYC (watermarked promo) Question #47173

the difference between the watermarked TFE and zeitgeist, and their commercial counterpart was too big to blame it on the watermark: they must’ve just used a different master. (however, neither of the watermarked promos contained pre-mastered audio. this was rumoured to be the case, but this rumour is false.)

in reply to: Oceania Live In NYC (watermarked promo) Question #47172

i did a rip with EAC and then compared sample per sample. some samples were the same, others weren’t.

if i compared the EAC rips of zeitgeist releases all over the world, they were all exactly the same. (this was not the case for the older albums.)

in reply to: Oceania Live In NYC (watermarked promo) Question #47169

You compared all watermarked releases with a non-watermarked?[/quote:4l931heu]

i compared several watermarked zeitgeists and TFEs with each other. and they were all different.

i also compared them to the commercial release, but of course that wasn’t the same either.

i wasn’t able to "isolate" the watermark, if that’s what you’re wondering.

in reply to: Oceania Live In NYC (watermarked promo) Question #47167

interesting. all my non-sp ones (not that many) come with a number.

so you think some of these watermarked cds don’t actually contain a watermark? and they just say the cd is watermarked to stop people from leaking the album? i really wonder if they sometimes do that. it would be cool to find a watermarked release and prove that it doesn’t contain a watermarked.

i compared different copies of TFE and zeitgeist, and none of them were identical. (i made a perfect copy of the audio with EAC, and compared the audio.) so i believe those watermarked releases definitely contained a unique watermark.

in reply to: Oceania Live In NYC (watermarked promo) Question #47165

i’m a bit surprised that this thread even exists: don’t all the older watermarked releases (the future embrace, zeitgeist) come with a name and a unique number? it’s the same thing, isn’t it?

in reply to: Oceania Live In NYC (watermarked promo) Question #47164

hey, i know what you’re talking about. i also have problems making myself clear on here, every now and then. it even happened in this thread. frustrating, isn’t it?

    ah, now i get it.
    pomo vs. promo.
i hadn’t noticed that before. jebus.

in reply to: Oceania Live In NYC (watermarked promo) Question #47162

    i wasn’t missing that.

but i’m still wondering where that statement came from?
and if there are more than 25 copies, why sell \"25 watermarked copies\" as a fact? was there a reason to believe there were 25? or was this just plucked out of thin air?

in reply to: Oceania Live In NYC (watermarked promo) Question #47160

but where did you get the number 25? i don’t understand. who says there aren’t 50 or 100 watermarked copies?

in reply to: Oceania Live In NYC (watermarked promo) Question #47156

there are 25 audio watermarks for this release.[/quote:1ygbg340]
where does this information come from?

Just my two cents… The unofficial box with official CDs should be in the unofficial category. The CDs are already listed as single entries, so nothing about this box makes them different (except the box, which is unofficial).[/quote:2pz7ykya]
    i agree.

the way i see it: the box is unofficial, and i’d even consider it a separate "release". it can actually be bought separately.
it’s just that whoever sells these (probably different people who bought a couple of these boxes), fills them up with any combination of official releases (any country, etc.) they can get their hands on today. because of this, the link between the box and the content is rather random. i personally wouldn’t combine the content and the box into one spfreaks.com entry. maybe just mention that it’s an unofficial release, that often comes filled up with officially released cds.

similar situation: that wooden siamese dream box is an unnoficial release, even though it doesn contain the officially released cd and booklet. (here too, different versions of the siamese dream cd and booklet have been found inside the wooden box. same thing happened: the company that produced the box, didn’t fill them up. they just sold the empty boxes to whoever thought they could make a profit out of them.)

but i’m sure thought has been given to this issue (official or unofficial), and that there’s a good reason/rule why these two releases are listed as "official".
i’d put them under "unofficial", to avoid all confusion. but that’s also just my two cents.

you bastard! or, as they say in spanish, bastardo! :x

Just won these: have been trying to get the 1991-1998 for ages :D [/quote:1ue70n4z]
i also won that one fairly recently, after trying to get it for years.

i see this one went for $73 only.
i won mine for $102. and i thought that was a good price.
$73 seems like a real bargain. these used to go for a lot more, if i remember correctly.
