Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorhaha. random.
that’s not an original 1993 pressing though. the caroline release wasn’t pressed on black vinyl until later (late 90s? early 2000s?).

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorand can’t you untie it without damaging it? doesn’t look too tricky.

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorwhat live version of i am one is it though?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori don’t. it’s not special enough. it’s just the wrong book. there’s nothing \"unique\" about the mistake. you could easily recreate it.
i’m still wondering if there’s been anyone who bought the EU vinyl box set that had the correct book.
so far, the early conclusion still stands:
cd+dvd box US: always the correct book
vinyl box US: always the correct book
cd+dvd box EU: sometimes the wrong book, sometimes the correct book
vinyl box EU: always the wrong book
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorCorrections have been made meanwhile, btw.[/quote:35gwlw57]
yes, i’ve noticed. thanks.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori’m not letting them get away with it like that. if they’re charging 130 euro for a vinyl set, they can provide the correct book. otherwise i’m not buying it.
so far, i never even got a decent answer. just promises and lots of silence.today it’s looking better though. fingers crossed.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori finally found out what the emi representative had to say about the incorrect book in the vinyl box set. he claimed that this is normal, and that all boxes are made in america, so that there isn’t much that they can do about it.
can you believe that? (how rude!)
the friendly lady from the shop seemed more upset than me when i told her that these claims are incorrect. i then mailed her a load of pictures that illustrate that there is an american and a european release, and most importantly, that there is a clear difference between the book from the cd+dvd box set and the one from the vinyl box set. (thanks for your picture, jeroen. that was very helpful.)
she will now get back in touch with the emi representative and ask for a solution.to be continued.[/quote:32eel20f]
the continuation of the story: after being confronted with my proof, the emi representative told the lady of the store that he’d look into it, and get in touch with me directly. so she thought the issue was now out of her hands and would soon be resolved.unfortunately, over a month later, i still hadn’t heard from this guy. since i didn’t have his direct contact information, i had to get back to the store, and tell them that i hadn’t been contacted at all. so then they kept emailing and pushing this guy at emi, and finally, they told the shop to tell me to call them, and ask for the product manager. (what a palaver. i really wonder why that had to take so long. did that representative guy ever even look into this, or simply ignore the whole matter, hoping that it would go away? could he not have told us immediately that we needed to talk to the product manager? could he not have contacted the product manager himself in those two months?)
anyway, today i was able to call the number and after the guy at the helpdesk tried to get rid of me ("you have to take the box set back to the shop where you bought it, and they’ll give you a new one" – lol!), i actually reached someone at emi belgium who could help me. very friendly person, who happened to have the deluxe edition and the vinyl box set within reach. he checked his vinyl box while we were on the phone, and it also contained the incorrect book. (ha!)
so now he’s going to look for a solution. don’t ask me how. it didn’t sound like they had more books lying around there. but hopefully i’ll get a real answer/solution soon. fingers crossed.to be continued.

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoryay for my package.
i liked your bob stern article, by the way. very nice.
and what does the red vinyl look like? can you post a picture? i wonder how red it is.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorspare ava adore 7\" (numbered): available
spare that’s the way 7\" (red): available
spare strange fruit 10\" (numbered): sorry, no
(sealed): also available
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori might be interested in a trade.
i think i have a spare copy of ava adore 7\". and maybe also the numbered strange fruit 10\", or that’s the way 7\". but i’ll have to check.
another suggestion: 20 explosive … 12\"+7\", sealed. (compilation album from 1991 that includes SP’s cover of jackie blue. also limited to 3000 copies, just like this no alternative LP, if i’m not mistaken.)2013.04.21 at 8:23 pm in reply to: What is the latest Pumpkins related item you bought? Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorJust picked up two copies of No Alternative on 180gram vinyl for Record Store Day.
#1422 & #1424
Both are still sealed, willing to sell or trade one if anyone needs one. Only interested in other vinyl![/quote:1lwxsfyu]
check out this thread: http://forum.spfreaks.com/viewtopic.php?t=1967
i might need one. i can buy, or possibly trade.
how much were they being sold for?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatormakes sense?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoryou mean the end is the beginning is the end (aka teitbite)?
i think \"LP version\" usually means \"album version\". it doesn’t necessarily refer to a medium (cd or vinyl).
if they put \"LP version\", they probably want to say they just lifted it off the original release, and didn’t use a \"radio edit\".except for some promotional vinyl records, this song was never released on vinyl, so it would be weird to refer to those releases to indicate what version it was.
either way, as far as i know, there are no alternate versions of teitbite.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoralso, what i’ve seen a couple of times, is that a record store day exclusive gets re-released later, not so limited. maybe this will also happen here? of course they don’t announce that in advance. typically they sneakily release it a couple of months later.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorthanks, guys.
don’t do anything crazy though. i’d like a copy, but if it’s too hard to get one, i’ll just be on the lookout on ebay for the next couple of years. no biggie.and yeah, sappy worries me the most. this track probably brings in the most interest. (i don’t even think it’s available on any other release. at least not this version of the song. so hordes of nirvana collectors will be after this first-time-on-vinyl release.)
i also don’t think too much of this compilation as a whole. only a handful of tracks interest me.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori’m not sure how big demand is, but i guess it must be higher than 3000.
if someone is able to pick up an extra copy, i’d be grateful to take if off their hands.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori didn’t think it was going to be available in europe, but who knows? maybe some copies will be imported?
i’m not available on record store day, so picking up a copy in a record shop is not an option.i just hope this release won’t be too limited. plenty of collectors of a number of bands will be after these.

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorsurely releasing a record player would be a definite commercial suicide for the pumpkins. can’t you just imagine the disaster that would be, hypothetically? it’s a stupid idea to begin with, but sp3 would take that to the next level. first of all the whole project would be delayed a couple of times. (this is just classic release strategy now. at this point, i’d ask my money back if there wasn’t a delay.) then topspin would fuck up. and then half of the record players wouldn’t function properly. next thing you know, billy is getting injured at a gig when people throw broken record players at him. monty starts crying. etc.
the end.2013.04.01 at 10:43 am in reply to: What is the latest Pumpkins related item you bought? (cont.) #45581
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorawesome.
my longboxes (gish, and singles soundtrack) have gotten a bit crushed over the years.2013.04.01 at 10:41 am in reply to: List time: owners of US Machina II Virgin in-house promo cds #41516
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorit’s a different transfer.
i believe the virgin promos had the same audio as the download version that was available on sp.com and on the metro website, for example.
if i’m not mistaken, that audio was supposed to be a rip from the copy of the sp.com webmaster (tigershorty?). this is also what sven has told about the origin of the virgin promos.
but i might be wrong. i don’t really know. i just go by what i’ve read. maybe virgin did the transfer, and then the websites hosted mp3s that were sourced from the virgin promos?2013.03.29 at 8:51 am in reply to: What is the latest Pumpkins related item you bought? (cont.) #45574
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorwell spotted, kirairu.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectator– clear vinyl / translucent / transparent vinyl tends to but is not always somewhat of inferior fidelty to solid vinyl (coloured or black)…
> therefore I really REALLY dislike the fidelity of the original PI release…[/quote:3o352lvj]
that’s why you need the UK pressing.2013.03.21 at 5:06 pm in reply to: What is the latest Pumpkins related item you bought? (cont.) #45560
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori believe there’s one still life track out there with bc on bass. i should also have that somewhere.
