I’d love to see how the cd looks like, for example.I was thinking the same thing the last days. Haven’t seen a copy of this promo for a while…
Could it be that someone from the SP management has taken actions to prevent the sale of these promos? Maybe it’s the same person who \"won\" all these promos on eBay?

I didn’t notice that on my copy. I thought mine said "made in the EU".My copy of Adore + VCD comes in an extra plastic sleeve that says \"Hong Kong Records\".
Adore is just the European version (imported?), but the VCD says \"EMI\" so I doubt it was ever released in Europe. One would expect a Hut/Virgin release in Europe.
oh no, no bad feelings towards the person who won it. i’m glad for him or her. if i had been able to place my bid, they wouldn’t have won, which would be sad for them, or it would have been 100 euros more expensive, which is also sad in a way. in case of the second situation, i’m actually glad i didn’t bid. i saved someone a lot of money. (which is of course money the seller isn’t getting, but oh well… i’m sure they never paid that much for this vinyl. it’s weird how prices vary.)
Seriously. I searched this on Google and \"ironing\" also came up. You’re supposed to put the flexi between wet clothes and then iron it. I tested it on a flexi I found in a second hand record store for 50 cent. First I bent it (because it was ok when I bought it) and then I tried the wet-clothes-ironing thing. I ruined that one completely. Ha! So either ironing is really stupid, or I just didn’t do it the right way.
Putting it in the freezer sounds very weird. I don’t see how that would work. Even ironing makes more sense to me.

I’m still a bit sad about it.i missed out on a lost highway vinyl yesterday. i was trying to bid in the last seconds, but ebay didn’t accept it, and when i tried again, the auction was over. it went for 64 euros. i was going to bid a lot higher.
goddammit. i’ve been looking for this for years. this one looked good, and the seller trustworthy.
of course, it’s not impossible that the winner had placed a bid that was even higher than what i was planning to bid, but that i’ll never know.

i really doubt that promo looks gold. my guess is that it’s just a silver looking cd-r.ugh, i hate it when \"mint\" is abused. or when they say it’s \"near mint\" because it has a huge scratch. fucking hell! damn you to hell!!!
Looks like they’re learning from their mistakes (and from all the complaints). Hopefully all the coming recordings will be fine.
They completely redid the November 3 show. That’s good.

They can’t really do live songs from this tour though, right? That would be quite sad, if you bought the two night ticket bundle, but also the recordings of both nights, and then you get a \"bonus ep\" and it’s songs you already bought.

On 2008-11-01, the track transition from Owata to Sunkissed is definately flawed. And I think the transition from Sunkissed to Song For a Son is also not seamless.
Edit: The transition from Tarantula to Glow sounds odd, too.

I don’t understand how someone who is a sound engineer for a band like the Smashing Pumpkins isn’t able to prepare a decent master.
Sector boundary errors can easily be fixed (but they can also easily be avoided), but gaps or repeated audio are a lot more work to fix. Also, it’s a shame if they would sell cds with mistakes like these.
nugs.net should request a new (flawless) master for every show with mistakes.Before I decide if I will get these, I want to be certain that the mistakes that are present in the first available recordings, are not present on the cds.
All I know is, I have my 20th Anniversary Tour Package set ordered already, and I’m gonna enjoy it big times, both as a Smashing Pumpkins (live) music addict and as a Smashing Pumpkins silver disc collector!

They’re not silver discs though…I’m not sure if they will become rare. They’ll always keep the masters, and will make as much copies as there is demand. This isn’t a limited edition.
Arthur, that’s a nice explanation, but does it tell us anything new? Do you think the SP shows will look any different than the Counting Crows cds in the first post? I think they will look exactly the same: cd-rs, cardboard sleeve, sticker.
