kylieSpectatorEven though it has been revealed to be a fake and a bootleg, I’ve wanted one of the Siamese wooden boxes for over a decade. I had an opportunity to score one and I thought it about time. So a few days ago, I did. [/quote:22fq6s0r]
If it was the one from eBay that went for almost $75 (I think it was a #300 range?), then you made a perfect deal! I paid quite a few bucks more for my #19, but it came with the original box also.Just curious kylie, does it have the red Made in Holland CD or the silver US CD? See also information and pics here: http://www.spfreaks.com/?page=COLLDETAILS&item=1697[/quote:22fq6s0r]
I got the box in the mail today and it is the US CD. It is a pretty and decorative wooden box.

kylieSpectatorI try to collect all the promo shots like this and other old photos from back in the day. I got this photo from ebay as well about six months ago. Before that I hadn’t seen it.

kylieSpectatorAnything on the wantlist still, kylie? The Aeroplane sales award maybe?[/quote:2bvsjr5r]
Absolutely! The Aeroplane Flies High, Gish (I know where one is but I’m not spending the $2000 asking price), Adore and Zeitgeist are all on my list. I’m always keeping an eye out so if you or anyone else out there is selling, please let me know and we can talk.

kylieSpectatorI’ve been collecting record awards for the past 10 years. Ive had the Mellon Collie for almost that long and I got the Machina one within the past two years. In the past month I was able to score two Siamese Dream awards and a Pisces award. The collection is shaping up nicely.
Someone asked on the SPFreaks facebook page about the signature on the Pisces award. It is presented to Kerry Brown and signed by D’arcy.
kylieSpectatorlooks like there is an autographed version (signed) in that above photo for a mere $500[/quote:jyhbp1pg]
You are correct. There were (a limited) two signed posters selling for $500. By the end of the night there was only one left, so someone dropped the cash. There were big spenders in the crowd. I heard Elijah Wood showed up. He’s been at every LA show since I can remember.
kylieSpectatorTo add to your collections!
There’s a poster too but I can’t find a pic[/quote:3b02d3k9]
I remember seeing you after the show taking that picture near the bus. Did you buy one of the pies? They were quite good.
Here are some other goodies from the show..
kylieSpectatorI have wanted this poster for years and I was finally able to score it. This was top my my list for a long time…. It is awesome.
kylieSpectatori feel like this was discussed somewhere before, but i can’t find the discussion. anyway, kylie, what is the story behind the bat strat in your case there? if i’m not delirious, it seems as though it’s left-handed and bystarlight.org claims it was used to record chimera?

I have been a fan of the pumpkins for a long time, especially the Siamese Dream era. I collect rare photos of the band from that era and I became fascinated with the bat strat. I am a guitar player and decided that I would try to replicate everything about that very special guitar. I wanted it to be as accurate as possible. I not only wanted to make an accurate reproduction but I also wanted to be able to play it as well.. and since I am a lefty it had to be done that way. I lucked out and found the neck on ebay right away. It was exactly what I wanted and, as luck would have it, the seller lived two miles from me (and I haven’t seen one since). I had the body made and painted by Warmoth. The pickups and tuning keys were perfect. The stickers were a little more tough. The bats are made by Frances Meyer. I happen to see those on ebay as well for a dollar a sheet. So I bought them and I haven’t seen them online since. They are so hard to find that I reproduced and printed more in case anyone was looking to make their own bat strat. The HONK sticker is from the record label Kranky. I contacted them and they said they haven’t had any of those stickers in 15 years, so I had to get creative. Using old photos and a few still shots from a 1993 concert, my friend and I were able to accurately recreate the sticker in Adobe Illustrator. We had a few printed up and it looked awesome. From time to time I take the guitar down and play some SP stuff. I can see why Billy loves it so much as it plays like a dream.
kylieSpectatorWhat do you think? Real or fake?
kylieSpectatorIt’s my first guitar that I learned how to play on, signed by 4 previous pumpkins. To sort of answer your question.. it was not easy.

I posted that pic and lots more a few months ago in the Show Off Your Goodies thread.

kylieSpectatorMy two latest pumpkins related purchases. I had to convert Billy’s strat to be left handed, but it does play very nice.
kylieSpectatorAbsolutely, Arthur. Please use them to help the site in any way you see fit. If you would like better photos of anything please let me know and I can take additional shots, no problem.
kylieSpectatorThis figure made an appearance when the Pumpkins played Cash Car Star on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno

at about 3:42 it peeks out.
kylieSpectatorI have seen this poster one time before but it was not framed. It is rare, but being rare and being valuable are two different things. The old saying goes, \"Something is only worth what someone will pay for it.\" I am on ebay multiple times a week going through every pumpkins listing and have seen many thousands of pumpkins items cycle through over the years. Things that I would have thought would fetch a high price often times do not. The most I could see this poster going for is maybe $30 to the right bidder… maaayebe a few dollars more because it’s framed. There was a big framed photo print taken by a famous rock-n-roll photographer of James Iha that was on ebay for a month and a half. The starting bid was only $20 and no one was interested. I had never seen that photo before and the frame alone was easily worth more than $20. I hate to say it, but the pumpkins aren’t as popular as they used to be. If the item is a rare pre 1995 item, really pretty, owned by a band member, or a very rare CD that is sought by people on this site, then it may fetch a little coin… but for a MCIS poster? Not so much. There is a guy who had a MCIS 4ft X 4ft duratran poster that he wanted $800 for. This is a prime example of people over estimating the worth of their item. The reality is that the collectable hype for this band is at a low point.
How much did you pay for the framed MCIS poster?
kylieSpectatorBecause I am big on completion, I photographed all my posters and some misc. items that were left out the first time around. I even found some surprises I had forgotten about.

kylieSpectatorI have wanted to post in this thread for a very long time. I finally devoted a weekend to gather and properly photograph my collection. The 35 pics include everything I have except for 20 or so posters, a Machina Cardboard CD display and my SP scrapbook. I have plans to (sometime soon) make a framed display from the Siamese Dream set list and autographed drum sticks and drum head. I used to have many more shirts but I had completely worn them out over the past ten years. A good friend of mine has been telling me to get a bunch of Pumpkins shirts from ebay so she can make me an SP quilt. If that happens I will be sure to post photos as well. I love this band and see them every opportunity I get.
