Just post your thoughts. Stuff that’s happening to you at the moment, how your feeling, anything. Just say whats on your mind.

      1. 200 tracks down, 100 more to go of that 26 live bootlegs torrent i got last week…
      2. Yay Firefox is working properly again. How the hell are you meant to cope without google, seriously.

well i am in the middle of so many things

packing, painting, getting the house ready for people to come and look at it, so we can sell it and move…

      plus all the everyday stuff

and i procrastinate on all of it by taking \"breaks\" to be on the computer. well i am almost done with all the packing, i am getting rid of 75% of what i have now, cause it is junk, plus clothes no one wears anymore, and toys that are for babies, that my son hasn’t looked at in years.

Well i’ve got so many things to do this week that i don’t even know where to start.

today had to woke up early to work, but i had such a painful migraine, that i spent the morning on sofa waiting to get better after taking my SOS pill.
then went to college to a boring afternoon, and now i was supposed to be working, but…

      who cares?

i’m so sleepy that i’m going to bed right know…

They are so hideously cliched (think old school metallica/megadeth with unoriginal lyrics) it’s actually appalling  Also, my mate has no power or menace in his vocals. He’s crooning. In thrash metal. However one of his songs has a pretty nice folk style riff (seriously!) but nevertheless – it’s godawful.

He hates James Iha and made a Flash animation taking the pi** out of him, there were several complaints about this, apparently…

They used to be on my Myspace and deleted me, because I placed Iha as my number one friend. I’d have thought it was just ironic timing, until I tried re-adding and it was declined a few times.

I didn’t have the strength to watch further, it was all too much and Jay should be ashamed of himself.

Something not-that-funny happened the day before yesterday, but it got compensated yesterday.

Thursday night: got stuck in traffic jam for 3.5 hours. Went to bed early.
Friday morning: woke up with a terrible headache. Urgh!

But Friday afternoon: all personel got a gothic metal 2CD + 1DVD Special Edition boxed set called 01011001 from a Dutch band (creative concept is a better word I guess) called Ayreon from my boss! We were like \"huh?\"

What happened… Our boss had this new video ad being made for the software we are building and selling, and he picked some music from Ayreon to go with the ad. He wrote to the creative brain behind Ayreon, a guy called Arjen Lucassen. After all our boss didn’t have to pay anything for the copyright, but he promised to Mr. Lucassen that he would give the whole personel the latest release of Ayreon! Even in a Special Edition!

To check out what Ayreon is about, watch the snippets video about 01011001 on the right here:

If you are a bit into this atmospheric goth metal, I think you should. The girl is Simone Simons from Epica if I’m right. Arjen Lucassen actually involved quite a lot of people in this Ayreon 01011001 project.

Featuring : Tom S. Englund – Evergrey, Jorn Lande, Jonas P. Renkse – Katatonia, Anneke van Giersbergen – The Gathering, Bob Catley – Magnum, Floor Jansen – After Forever, Steve Lee – Gotthard, Hansi Kursch – Blind Guardian, Daniel Gildenlow – Pain of Salvation, Magali Luyten – Virus IV – Beautiful Sin, Simone Simons – Epica, Ty Tabor – King’s X, Arjen Lucassen (the man himself), Liselotte Hegt – Dial, Phideaux Xavier, Marjan Welman – Elister, Wudstik, Ed Warby – Gorefest, Ben Mathot – Dis, David Faber, Jeroen Goossens – Flairck, Derek Sherinian – Planet X, Tomas Bodin – The Flower Kings, Joost van den Broek – After Forever, Lori Linstruth, Michael Romeo.

gosh i hope not, that would suck. i had to get one of those when i was pregnant. i hate needles. ewww.

before you say it, no tattoo needles are not the same, they only go down 3 layers of skin, doctors needles go all the way through, even though the tb test is under the skin, it is still creepy.

Coach of the Russian team: Guus Hiddink, a very famous Dutch trainer. I read something like that during the week, I don’t actually recall specifics, but the article I read didn’t say anything about preventing pregnancy/interfering with child birth, but rather that having cats around small children, made them more likely to develop some specific skin disease later in life (can’t remember what it was called), but people have kept cats as pets for thousands of years without problems, strikes me as a bit of scare-mongering really.
I’m sure next week those same scientists will report a \"sudden breakthrough\" having developed a cream you have to buy to protect your children from this terrible thing….which was never a problem until last week…..

    • #9906

the only thing i know about pregnant women and cats is

you are not suposed to clean out thier litter boxes when pregnant, cause there is some sort of parasite that can make you sick, and it is in thier poo. but it can only effect you when you are pregnant. but i didn’t have a cat for like probably 5 years and i was pregnant in that time. but the doctors say, stay away from litter boxes when you are preggers.

other than that, unless you are alergic, there is nothing wrong with them

and cult hero……… i wouldn’t be suprised if they did that. bunch of hooey those people are.

And a 250GB harddrive for the PS3 means that I can copy a lot of music (high quality) into the PS3, download games/demos/movies, and have easy access to them. Connecting wirelessly to my PC would be too slow (and I don’t have the right hardware)

      1. I’ve just added another… 6-8 CDs to my amazon wishlist. I really need a summer job.
      2. I’m debating… thanks to my dad giving me a tenner, I have enough to buy GTA4. But I could buy GTA4 from a different seller (not amazon) for a price that I could’ve afforded without the extra tenner. Given that the money was given to me so that I could afford the game (and that I’m not that trustworthy of independent sellers in regards to games) should I buy from amazon? Or should I buy cheaper and also get a CD?

    • #9930

i would go with the known seller, and get a job. like me, you can sit around all day, and then make about 100 in a 1/2 hour. not that it happens everyday, or every week, but it is cool when it does.

or sell stuff on ebay, i do that too, that is where i make most of my money, and spend way to much time online.

    • #9932

well, ask him if you can.

i go to yard sales and get stuff, then sell it. brand name kids clothes sell really well, as do pokemon stuff. it goes for big bucks, i know i have had to buy some of it. character toys in good condition sell well also.

they have a \"hot list\" of things that are in high demand, but not that many listings for them, but you might have to be a power seller to access it. *cough cough* which i am.

    • #9934

i didn’t say for you to sell yours, if you find some that you already have, or any action figures, ( i will not call them dolls) they go for big bucks. i know i have paid big bucks to get some.

how many cards do you have?

    • #9935

Yeah I have plenty of duplicates.

I have – A complete Base Set 1, Complete Jungle set, Missing one card from Fossil Set, and a pretty good Team Rocket set.

I also have 2 Jumbo Articuno/Moltres/Zapdos cards (all three on one card. Can’t be used in play but must fetch a decent price!), the Pikachu Around The World special set of 9 cards, and the Pokemon Neo special set of 9 cards (in japanese) as well as a few promo cards.

      What about Yu-Gi-Oh cards?

    • #9936

oh man you have the big cards of moltres, zapados, and articuno, man, i am so jelous, and so is my son, he has a big darkri card, and we are working on the new diamond and pearl ones, we have a complete base set also, along with the very first ones that came out, the little square ones.

yu-gi-oh, don’t even get me started on yu-gi-oh, those cards go for so much more than pokemon.

i spent like i dunno how much for a blue eyes white dragon, and i just bought my son a blue eyes ultimate dragon. and he wants all the exodia cards, but those go for like 50 to 100 bucks. he has the torso, but none of the others.

    • #9938

yeah, there are little square ones, and they have thier own book. i will find them and take a pic of it. my son had them out the other day. they are bigger than a postage stamp but smaller than a regular card. i will take pics or find pics and post them.

they are neat, it is only the first 150 though.

and i want a team rocket set, i love those ones. i think they look neater than the regular ones.

which peices of exodia do you have? i might have to get you to sell them to me for my son’s b-day this month.

    • #9939

I get an email on sp.com from someone telling me my Muzzle comment off PMM’s page was deleted… It was supposed to be funny…(we have been handed a muzzle)-maybe I should have typed, I knew the silence of the world or something, but yeah it’s been deleted..but not anyone elses comments bitching

yes I agree it’s bad over there-I got a bad feeling about that silence-something is going to change and until they figure that part out we’ll probably be kept on mute..PMM got PMS?
I suppose that wouldn’t be nice to say..

yeah, i agree with you there pretty much reggaeluv.

the dead silence is almost eerie compared to the usual racket. its like an internet ghost town. i wonder whats to come.
i think PMM is truly mad about all of the dissent and bickering as of late and i think maybe your right about the whole we aren’t aloud to say boo anymore bit, esp. since bullet heard from someone who asked PMM about it and they said that all of the crap was one of the issues. i just think mass censorship is the wrong solution. the site needs to change, but you can’t fix the problems by silencing everyone and shoving the issues under the rug. i don’t know though. i guess we can only wait and see.

but i guess at least we have here and thepumpkins.net- they can’t take that away.

you know though- i swear once awhile back with the last maintenance several of my posts were deleted. it was around the time of the Adore anniversary- if you remember they disabled a few things for site maintenance. i made some comments- not even bad if i remember right- and when the site was back up they were all gone. i looked through the threads several times but couldn’t find them ever. unrelated i suppose, but it was kind of weird. i’m not sure about that place sometimes. :|

Yeah I have had a few comments and news posts deleted also. So they don’t have a record label controlling their every move, but they are in a sense doing to us exactly what big corps do….shove it under the table and move on.
This is just not ok. You want to connect with the fans, but you silence them. What sense does that make?
I wish PMM would fix it. I kinda want to say something toPMM about my comment, but then again that will probably piss htem off again. Oh and no new news today yet either-that’s odd too.

Yeah Marcella, so true! We (niece and me) tried to look for that message saying they were beat up, but we only could find it on some dutch fansites, so probably you can’t understand it anyway. We keep searching. But here’s a pic from the Hyves page of the non-fans, where they gathered almost 6,000 haters… Amazing!

    • #9996

This reminds me of the beatings to the so-called \"emo\" kids that have been going on some of the northern states of Mexico and Mexico City. At first it started like just \"fun\", but a girl was beaten to death by a group of young men recently. They threw one of those construction blocks at her head after having ripped her clothes off, and recorded all that in their cellphones.

Campaigns have been held out and bands have given their support, but the hate remains there and it’s getting worse. What the hell is up with society?

The local newspaper actually interviewed Billy when he came to town about it, and asked him what he thought. He said that anyone who messed with \"emos\" messed with him as well, and that you wouldn’t want to mess with the Corgan!

Everyone should have a backup Billy bodyguard .

\"Not real rockers\". For me a rocker is someone who likes rock. Not a big taboo, as simple as that.

Changing topic a little bit, I wanted to share with you guys the dream I had yesterday!

You see, I had been feeling really bad all day long…Not exactly sad, as I have no reason to be unhappy, but just very tired, I didn’t want to go out and everyone told me I wasn’t looking good. I fell asleep thinking that I had plenty of time to be happy and go out.

Then, I dreamed that I was diagnosed with HIV. I had gotten the sickness through some needle after getting the vaccine. They told me I had very few days left, less than a year, and I kept asking myself \"Why? Why didn’t I enjoy my life?\".

I was incredibly relieved when I woke up and realized it was all a dream. My brain seems to give lessons to itself.

I have been working my ass of since last year October without any holidays, I was seriously ill a few weeks back, kinda stubborn flu virus and still not really over it, and on top of that some dutch bank is putting me to court now for something that happened in 1995. They want a huge amount of money from me, while I refuse to pay that of course. Long story short, my lawyer is kicking their asses big time and I expect to win the law case, but it costs 1,000’s and 1,000’s of Euros, and the stress… Urgh! Meanwhile my girlfriend is soon to be moving in with me, but she is stressed too because of the changes in her life and giving me hard times too sometimes… I know, she can’t help it, and I’m really not blaming her anything. But all in all, let’s say I’m tired and easily irritated, and I need some pep & joy again.

Wait, let me play some Pumpkins rock, that always helps… Bodyguard Billy, Therapist Jimmy…

Does it matter really? At the end of the day it’s not a 360 exclusive either so you will still be able to play it *shrugs*
I have a PS3, but I play 360 in work on my lunch, I honestly don’t care for all that console war stuff, I’m happy with my PS3 and glad I chose it over 360 because of MGS4 and Killzone 2 & Blu-ray, but I’m sure there are 360 players glad for Halo 3 and….that Zombie game I can’t think of the name right now, but it’s awesome :P
Anyway, 360 has no exclusive titles, all it’s titles that sell well will also be released on PC.

Firstly, the fact that it’s multi-platform WILL be a problem for the game – take DMC4 as an example. A lot of stuff was slated to be released when it was a ‘PS3 exclusive’ but was taken out when turned into multi-platform, because it wouldn’t fit into the DVD of the 360 otherwise (BR has 6x more space). That WILL happen for FFXIII, I can nearly guarantee it.

Secondly, it WOULD have been a console seller (it’s the fourth biggest videogame franchise – the first two are Nintendo’s and the third is The Sims) which meant the PS3 would likely get more attention from third parties and Sony itself.

Thirdly, any game on a PC that is also on 360 is made as "Games For Windows". Windows is owned by Microsoft. As is XB360. Also, Gears of War.

On a side note, and rather interestingly, Bungie games (Halo) had a countdown timer on their website for E3 (countdown ends in just over 1 1/2 days). Nothing was revealed at the MS press conference, and it’s sort of well known that Bungie no longer have a contract for 360 exclusive Halo games. So let’s see what happens…

Also, I downloaded and played the awesome game ‘Portal’. It’s awesome. Really, really awesome. A bit short, but awesome.

This brings up a question from my side actually… As far as I can see, almost all the bigger and active Smashing Pumpkins places are in 1 way or the other \"commercial\". ThePumpkins.net, Blamo, Netphoria, SPFC… HipstersUnited and SPfreaks.com are the only places I know that are not commercial. But, with all respects to HU, they are \"only\" a blog website, without too many extra features. Not that costly I presume. Correct me if I’m wrong. The rest is using banners, pop ups, ads, commercial links, everything.

I truly disgust doing that with this place. I mean, we have our costs too, but they are not that high. We don’t have to pay the provider anything, we have quite some GB room on the server for free, the domain name SPfreaks.com is only 60 US$ fee per 5 years (just paid the next 5 next years, so we will be around for a while more… ) and even the programmer RedWolf is not being paid for updates, new features and maintenance. Of course I give him a present here and there, like a new harddrive, an external backup disc, and things. But we are extremely lucky, so far, on the money side.

Other places aren’t I’m sure, and sometimes they have to pay hundreds of dollars a month to pay for a cozy place like this on da net. So I can understand they turn commercial in a way. We might have to do that in the end also, because really, I love doing this for a hobby, but not at any cost. I guess you understand that, right? Let’s say, IF we ever have to go commercial in a way, what way would that be? What would be a balanced mixture of going commercial & still be a nice place to be? Let me give you a few options.

-The Netphoria way. Out of the question if you ask me, I’m amazed that people can stand it like that. Or you have to pay them a fee for getting rid of the most annoying bullshit I have ever seen on a website.

-The Blamo & ThePumpkins.net way. Mixture of several banners and ads. More friendly, but who will click on links going to ringtone providers?

-The EIL & Amazon way. They implement a little skin around the SPfreaks.com website, and every item will be linked to the same item on their website. Every click or item sold will give a few cents to SPfreaks.com.

-The Google ads way. Can be seen on Netphoria too, if I’m right.

-Selling more SPfreaks.com merch. Unique items, but very small market, as we have found out with the shirts. 5 sold in 9 months… I wonder if other products will be more successful.

Maybe there are other ways too, I don’t know. Just curious about your thoughts and opinions.

    • #10088

      My thoughts?

When you get a bill, let me know. I have no problem financing (FI, not FUH, for all you illiterate bastards) this website as long as it’s a place I love coming to. So far, it has never failed.

Sorry, but people who say FUH-nance should be shot.

And people who refer to their CHILDREN as KIDS.

Point being, I’ll gladly pitch in. I’m sure others around here feel the same. It’s like the PBS (Public Broadcasting Station/System…??) over here in the conterminuous US. If you want quality, buck up and pay for it. Donate. Otherwise, enjoy the shit and commercialism that dominates every aspect of our corporate lives/existence.

As long as I’m around, you’ll never have to outsource for finances, Arthur.

It’s awesome that you would want to kiss me. Cheek only though!

Anyway, I meant a sole contribution, or purely individual. No pressure to donate, no reprecussions if you don’t.

No fee for members. None. There is no reason for it, maintaining this site and what it will become should be free for all. The beauty of the internet.

      One small caveat:

      HOWEVER

The one feature this site will soon host is the My Collection. A truly awesome way to chronicle and organize and track your own personal collection.

Maybe a nominal fee could be associated with having to store people’s input. This would also deter fake My Collections submissions. Who would pay to have a fake collection archived? Anyway, I think this feature is worth a nominal fee. I don’t know any other site that hosts this kind of service.

Seriously, it’s not only that. There’s a € 35 fee per month for a somewhat dedicated line too. But it’s used for a few other websites too, and for other personal use of RedWolf the developer. Also there is the hardware part (server, backup equipment, Microsoft database & other software license fees). The most costly thing however, that was never billed, was the development hours. Since 2002 Redwolf spent hundreds and hundreds of hours of development on the actual website and things (Collection website, Forum website, Chat website, webmaster tools, webmaster reports, and coming soon the My Collection feature inside the Collection website).

If we had this done with a commercial party, it would have cost us something like 30,000 – 40,000 US$. He always says he loves doing it when he has some free times, as a hobby. But I feel guilty sometimes, and pay off my guilty feelings with a little piece of hardware every now and then.

Maybe we should just do some fundraising for this guy alone?

    • #10104

I’ve been having a similar discussion on another forum, for an MCR fansite (theimmortalityproject.com)

It is an awesome fansite, offering huge numbers of downloads. But the girl who runs it has to pay ~$200 a month to keep it up, because of the downloads. And this is only a hobby/love for the band thing for her. At the end of every month, she’s always asking for donations, which is really sad :(

It’s was knocked offline for about 2 months recently. To be fair, her dad was in hospital, so she had other commitments. But as an example of what can happen, yeah, you need to watch out.

I think the amazon thing is a good idea. But all the main albums people have already (especially if they’re coming to this site) and amazon themselves rarely sell the rare stuff – it’s usually other sellers. So I don’t know if you’d get money like that.

Maybe, you should sell off rare, surplus SP items on ebay to raise money. Would work quite well, methinks ;)

That’s actually a great idea: BUT, another However:

Last time I had a rarity, I sold it for way less than it’s value to another SPfreak. That’s another part of being on this board, to me anyway. Helping one another out with collecting the rare shit.

I don’t know, if we were in dire need of funds, that would make sense, but I’d much prefer giving another collector a great item at an unbeatable price.

Two, I’m all smelly-nice and wearing female deodorant. :?

While in Town today on my way back from other ‘appointments,’ I did some light shopping to stock up.

Later in the day, my neighbour knocked and returned some DVDs I’d leant her.

\"Mmm, something smells nice,\" she sniffed.

      \"Probably the cheese toasties I’ve just made,\" I said.

\"No, it’s like perfume or something, seems familiar…\"

Well, anyway, I looked up the company’s website and sure enough, one of the roll-ons is a definite \"Lady Product.\"

Ok so everyone can call me CRAZY!!! Last night I looked out my window and saw a weird light (like a helicopter) no nose. It went down about 4-5 blocks away….NO noise
Then I look up at the stars ans see this star that I thought was the North star, but wasn’t. I found the North star. Anyway so I see this twinkle in the sky at 12:43 last night until 1:41 and it was far away. but you could see it move I thought I ws going nuts until during that hour it moved behind the trees. WTF? I am LOS and confused. I did read that you can see this item to the left of the big dipper. Huh? Well it was to the left of the big dipper. And it was orange, blue, white colors from what I could see. I almost went to my neighbors-she was outside smoking, but I figured it was too late to visit a neighbor.
Well anyway I still can’t figur out what the helicopter light thing was, but The star thing in the sky was brilliant!!
look to the west, and left of the big dipper late at night and I bet you can see it. It is brighter than ANY star you can actually see.
And it’s by the North star-fucking weirdest shit I have ever seen. I have seen the Northern lights, a satellite, shooting stars, the moon. all that you have, but WTF was that last night? I am going out again tonight to see if it is there. I hear you can see it nightly on clear nights.
I am so baffled by what I saw I could hardly sleep I go up early just anxious as all can be…

    • #10209

The moving thing was most likely a satellite.

And the star thing might have been Venus. I’m not sure what your night sky would look like, but Venus is visible to the naked eye, and looks like a bright star that has some faint colour.

ooh maybe that’s what it was! It was cool regardless. I live in the city by the airport and it’s sometimes hard to see the stars, but last night it was fucking great for once! But what would stay in one spot for about an hour and then move out of sight behind a tree-(of course way far out though) Don’t know how long it was there since I was watching Super Bad. Feel the need to actually follow the thread title and post my thoughts. A sort of \"get off my chest\".

I’m stressed when I shouldn’t be. I’m finally moving back home on Sept 5th after almost two years of being down in Texas working (I moved from Michigan down here because I couldn’t find consistant work up there). I’m leaving a job I’m extremely comfortable in and leaving a couple of great friends I’ve made. It seemed like an eternity until I was going to leave when I first found out a couple weeks ago that I have a job waiting back in Michigan, now I feel like I’m running out time to get things done that I need to. I still need to get an apartment up there, but can’t sign a lease. Having a cat that doesn’t like moving and hates the cat carrier is making it more difficult to just pop a squat somewhere for a coup
