yes me too!! this is really the only forum in which i feel comfortable voicing my opinions, and not being verbally attacked while doing it. on other sites (which will remain namelss) i have been called names, and have had unflattering things said about me by complete strangers. i am glad that kind of behavior is not tolorated here. it is possible to have discussions and disagree without being complete (cover your eyes i’m gonna use a bad word) s*itheads about it.[/quote:20mk28vm]

I definitely think some people over there need to grow up. I think I was called an ugly whore or something over there at one point in time..and was flamed by one user because of some misunderstanding he had with me. Of course whatever personal feelings he had he decided to spew it onto the forums with namecalling. Very immature. And there are definitely people there who are not true fans…and if they are I weep for the future..
I’m glad spfreaks rocks and everyone seems pretty cool here. And thats all I have to say about that.
I haven’t heard anything about any of the US dates yet. Definitely looking forward to them coming back over here though!!

Pretty much in the gish chat (way back in ’99) that SP had they had people submit questions to be answered by the band. Someone wrote like \"dear bolly..\" which in turn morphed into b0lly. I’m like 95% certain I was there for this chat.. of course they didn’t answer any of my questions.

I wonder what happened to that van. I remember someone went to the residency shows and got a pic of it (same van duh). I wonder if b0lly has it in his garage! nah.. its probably been stripped of its Zeitgeist-ness and is carting some kids off to soccer (the dreaded SOCCERMOM VAN!)

I guess most people compare the new stuff to SD because that was \"the big\" album. For me, its MCIS. But I really love SD. Well all the albums in their own way like you said Arthur. But the \"deeper\" songs like Soma, Mayonaise, Thru The Eyes of Ruby, Porcelina, Drown — those really stand out for me. The \"epic\" songs you know?
And I think Adore is brilliant. Its a shame it was seen as a failure. I was watching one of the documentaries or I read something where Billy said he wished they would have just stopped after the MCIS tour, with the death of his mom and his divorce and Melvoin’s death all sort of around that tour (give or take).
But I for one am so glad they DID make Adore (and toured for it as it was my first time seeing SP!) that album hits me like no other… in a different way than Gish or SD or MCIS or even Machina does.
I could go on forever about how much I love each album in its own way though
… even Zeitgeist which is sort of low on the SP CD totem pole for me. Though I have to say i LOVE Ma Belle, Zeitgeist and Stellar. Those should have been on the first official release and .. there should have just been ONE release not a rainbow of releases imo.Yeah, i play WOW also, so time consuming!![/quote:3iui900p]

I’m with you Arthur all the way. I mean I compare \"Soma\" to some of the songs off Zeitgeist and I just get.. sad. Not to start the debate does Zeitgeist suck or not — I think its decent but when I compare it to the older stuff I don’t know if any of the songs there have the heart that their earlier work really had.
Best line in Soma \"So let the sadness come again, On that you can depend on me yeah, until the bitter bitter end of the world year, when god sleeps in bliss\" – ALWAYS loved this line.
I think out of all their albums MCIS has the best artwork. I love it.. its not only my FAVORITE album but its just beautiful to look at.

I realize Im bringing up an ancient post. But I have to say that is one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever briefly looked over. I’m not making fun of her or anything, I’m a Counseling Psych. major so I sort of see this stuff from two viewpoints.
I knew a girl that was sort of like this Veronica girl. She was very strange and made up things sort of along those lines. Hah I wonder if it is her.
Anyway I think its clear about the mental health problems. I do feel sorry for her… maybe she is lonely.. maybe she has no one else to turn to so living in this other world suits her.
Its things like these that make me thank god I’m not a famous person in any way shape or form. I couldn’t handle someone obsessing over me in such an unhealthy way. I hope she gets help though.
