Yeah, we have done that a couple of times you and i, and that worked out ok, i like that way as well.I rather want an item to be won from someone here then a totally stranger if you can call it that.

I still stick to the idea of the unspoken "gentleman’s agreement" I have with a few people on here (in fact with everybody, when I think of it): if someone sees the item first and announces to go bidding, I’m staying away. I’m not going to give the seller the pleasure of tons of money. Instead I want the pleasure of a fair price to go to my fellow collectors. Even if that means that I have to wait a bit longer.
The only problem I have is that the guest browsers/collectors on here (who are 5-10 times the number of SPfreaks members I think) are aware via this public forum that a rare item has popped up on eBay, so the number of (potential) bidders might increase anyway…[/quote:2zdh7xgw]
Yep.I totally agree with Arthur and Thom.If i see an item that i want i simply PM the hardcore collectors here in our forum and tell them if they could stay away from this particularly item i want to bid on, and the gentelmens of our community dont bid on the items i want, because of the respect for each other.Thats one of the things i so love about this place, respect for each other as collector.I soooooo wanted to make a bid for the 3 x Try Canada promo that Arthur wanted, but he was the first one to find it and pm me about saying if i could let him have it.Of course he could, so i dont make a bid for it, plain and simply.His always been nice to me when i found an item he did not have, did he make a bid for it ? never evar, same goes for Manila and Cool, they dont make any bids either if im frist.Well mostly, sometimes there probo an item someone else want so to keep the price down only one person makes a bid, .This is one of the things i love about the place, respect for a fellow collector and to keep the price down so the seller dont get overpaid for an item.Some item will apear again on EBay ,some will probo never, who knows.Lets keep this at it is, recpect for each other as collectors and freinds.
