and i do get paid pretty good and i get free health insurance and i actually don’t hate my job really. i see some majorly fucked up scenes, but it is kind of entertaining to a degree. i do enjoy the messed up show that is humanity. this was just one of those weekends- the kind that make you stabby.

and i love all of you SPfreakies. you’re the best crazies i know.

and i’m not sure where i want to go yet. i have one more semester to finish then i will head off to a grad school somewhere.

oh, and the .367 thing was alcohol level of the crazy drunk i checked in. .08 is the legal limit.

we just had two super wasted chicks in. the one checking in was in the system under two names and she barely knew her own info. they were so nasty and they were just laughing and having a good time over i don’t know what. and the one was barefoot and they both smelled like booze and were filthy. and the one kept calling my necklace "magic beads." and they called the security gaurd an asshole and were running a program. they were a total freak show. money says security throws them out. holy fuck. when they walked up to check in they were even waving there arms like it was a party. they are fucked up.

and earlier someone was smoking pot on the lot and someone is keeps putting grafitti in one of the bathrooms.

the people here are so fucked up. its kind of amusing, but its so messed up.

i think it was dialysis actually or something. it was like a girl who pranked called the hospital.

and to add more fucked up to my weekend some woman cabbed here and went to the Family Birth Center claiming she was going into labor. so they rushed her in only to discover that she isn’t pregnant at all after they checked her in and got ready to deliver the baby. and now she is checked into the ER being weird in the back.

all’s quiet on the triage front. she is gone. they are gone. yay! for me. sucks for icu.

oh, its crap again. there is one patient in the back and she literally has like 50 family members here. they are coming out of the wood work and are being disrespectful of hospital visiting rules and literally trying to sneak into the back anyway they can. it is so bad now that we have security stationed at the doors and they are kicking them out of the back. poor ICU. they get them next.

edit: she is off now thank god. poor icu though. this is going to be a big problem for today, because they have no regard for hospital rules and procedures. they are acting like they own the place and are making it hard on other patients.

now for my crazy day. basically on Saturday its usually slow in the mornings and then it picks up around 1:00-2:00 pm. today though it was busy from the time i arrived, 6:00 am, until i left, 5:30 pm. it was kind of fucked up and we had a lot of really sick old people stroking out, crazys and drug seekers, and fucked up patients being asses and weirdos. and around noon-ish all hell broke lose. we got busier than hell and the staff in the ER was scraping horribly (the nurses mainly). plus we had the dumbest charge nurse on duty and every time he works all hell breaks loose because he’s an idiot. and to make matters funner we had a bomb threat at this time too. we only had four security guards and the security cameras weren’t working and nobody knew wtf was going on. then they put the hospital on lockdown including the ER and a few cops came, but they didn’t station a security guard in the ER and they didn’t tell us in triage what the hell we should do. and actually they aren’t allowed to lockdown the ER unless there are biological or chemical agents. so the nurse was madder than shit and we had patients who needed to check in outside of the locked ER door including one that looked like she was going to pass out, so the nurse said fuck this shit and opened the door and let people go and come in. and the nurse chewed this one dipshit security guard’s ass and the charge nurse came out and every body was fighting and it was all fucked up and in front of the patients too. it was just a fucked up day. there was no bomb though and it wasn’t like a big news production. plus nobody knew what the hell was going on and we just told the patients it was a drill for lack of a better explanation. the patients were just nuts today though and the staff was at each others throats and stabbing each other in the back and crap. it was just screwy. kind of funny in fucked up kind of way, but way more excitement than i needed. plus i didn’t sleep at all last night- not one smidge because i was sickish again. so yeah, general lameness today.
