are you familiar with brussels? i can walk you around wherever you want to go. we can go all \"tourist tour\", or all \"pub crawl\", or anything in between. or anything else even. whatever you prefer. doesn’t matter.

this way i can make up for missing out on the ghent trip, when they were showing if all goes wrong. i wish i had been there. (i think i was in england that weekend.)

in reply to: They’re comming back… to EUROPE ! #4963

i could take the day off and come to brussels.

in reply to: They’re comming back… to EUROPE ! #4960

i’d also rather hang out than go to the show.

if the show has to be the excuse to meet up, then why not? i’ve done that before.

in reply to: Billy Corgan writes his biography!? #43087

most people think it’s not from him, actually.

    in reply to: SPRC #43362

    well, that’s interesting.
also funny how there are things out there that the band doesn’t seem to own anymore. (maybe it’s still somewhere in the archive, but they don’t know about it?)

and yeah, this sprc version is something different. no discussion about that.

in reply to: They’re comming back… to EUROPE ! #4957

    you bastards!
will you be there just for the show, or will you have time to visit brussels and hang out?

    in reply to: SPRC #43360

so do you think that the one on the hut promo tape is the waterfront studios one, or do you believe that’s yet another version?

in reply to: They’re comming back… to EUROPE ! #4955

    you’re coming to brussels?

    in reply to: SPRC #43358

drown recording sessions, according to spfc.org:
    http://www.spfc.org/band/studio.html?session_id=12
    http://www.spfc.org/band/studio.html?session_id=13

    Early 1992 – Waterfront Studios
The band’s first of three attempts to record Drown. This one, recorded at Lenny Kravitz’s studio, was scrapped as the output sounded more like a Kravitz recording.

    Mar 1992 – Smart Studios
The second attempt to record Drown proved useless, as Jimmy began drinking as Billy & Butch set up and adjusted the sound; by the time the band was ready to record, Jimmy was literally falling of his stool drunk.[/quote:28yv8ffh]
so, if this is correct, the waterfront recording was the first attempt.
but that still doesn’t prove that that is the version that is available on that promo cassette.
also, when was the definitive version recorded? also in march 1992, at smart studios?
and where does the sprc version fit in?

    in reply to: SPRC #43356

can anyone access spfc.org? it keeps timing out for me. i believe they had some information there.

the way i remember it, it says something like \"the band recorded drown at the studio of lenny kravitz, but they didn’t like the result, as it sounded too much like a lenny kravitz song.\"

    in reply to: SPRC #43353

Apart from some static around the 5-minute mark I think this is the version we as die-hard fans have had for years… But: that’s just listening; have to do real comparisons…[/quote:va79t259]
you mean the version that can be found on this tape? http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?pa … &item=1686

i think the sprc version is yet another recording of drown.

also, in regards to that spfreaks.com entry: i don’t think the waterfront studios recording of drown is the first recording. it is an earlier recording, but i didn’t think it was the first one.

well, it’s not like it will ever sell out and it’s another two months before the gig, so that’s a long time to change my mind. but right now i have no intention in going. i really feel like i don’t care about this. if the gig was today, i could stay home and not regret it for one minute.

it’s not like the 50 euro is holding me back. i can afford it. and it’s in brussels. that’s not far. i might even be able to stay the night in brussels if i wanted to.

the only reason why i might go, is to meet up with people i haven’t seen in a while. that would be an expensive meetup though. i could buy several rounds of beer with that ticket money.

or maybe i’ll hear stuff about the american tour and i’ll be impressed and that’ll change my mind?

or maybe it’s just been enough, and i’m simply not going.

in reply to: They’re comming back… to EUROPE ! #4949

i think i’ll skip. i might even skip the brussels gig.

in reply to: They’re comming back… to EUROPE ! #4947

ooh! the beer tent! that sounds promising. :D

    oh wait. heineken. never mind.

Billy will play a secret acoustic gig with the band at Brams place instead.[/quote:2cmjfg9l]
wait, what? i never agreed to this.
i ain’t opening the door for them.

oslo seems to have disappeared from the list as well.

in reply to: They’re comming back… to EUROPE ! #4940

yeah, i called billy and i said, listen, ayoe can’t come on the fifth, there’s a wedding she has to go to, and he was like, oh, i’m so sorry. i’ll see what i can do. and i was like, yeah, you better. goddammit! and thanks. bye bye.

Brussels, Vorst Nationaal (Forest National) has also been added on 7 November.
Apparently they believe Brussels is in Germany.

in reply to: They’re comming back… to EUROPE ! #4932

To make you feel better, Ayoe, we’re already writing bad reviews for all the European shows. You know, so you can feel like you didn’t miss that much. I’ve already finished two reviews, and trust me, you didn’t want to be there.

    Hope this helps.

in reply to: Siva 12\" WLP (HUTT 6) #43377

i’ve never seen a WLP for siva.

like you said, sometimes the peel sessions WLP is listed as \"siva\" on ebay. but the mistake is usually quite clear. if there would have been any doubt, i would have asked the seller about it.

in reply to: They’re comming back… to EUROPE ! #4912

i think they will. if they’re touring europe for all of november, it would be hard to skip sweden. FINGERS CROSSED!

also, is this one of the highest known numbers?
many sources say there were 20,000 numbered copies, but this copy proves otherwise.

in reply to: Printing error on MCIS vinyl sleeve #43169

    4844. This one has indeed a line.[/quote:bxkljtj5]
ooh, interesting. that’s quite a high number. i wasn’t expecting for the numbers to go that high.

is the line on the front and the back?

in reply to: They’re comming back… to EUROPE ! #4910
