Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI understand the releasing on digital. There is the option to buy the whole disc digitally right?[/quote:g7fl61sj]
No. That’s what they are saying: they want to release mp3s, but for most releases they will not release the whole disc as mp3, but just a selection of the songs. And I already told you on sp.com: you got the whole 12-week subscription/fan club/archive project deal mixed up.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori’m more interested in having a chair Billy shat on.[/quote:2jo7nxfy]
ew
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori don’t understand why they plan to leave songs out for the digital release. if they’re going to release mp3s, then why not go all the way? are they trying to piss off the people who asked for mp3s? surely a lot of them will be interested in the complete release. and the ones who aren’t can still pick the songs they want.
also, i don’t see why this has to be \"very special and unique\". why not simply go for something good, but that maybe exists already? very special an unique sounds like they will try all kinds of weird stuff, just for the sake of being special and unique. this kind of contradicts focusing on content. no?
very special and unique. what is that even supposed to mean? how did they come up with that? sounds like someone’s confidence needed a boost.
i really wonder in what way it’ll be very special and unique. i bet in a couple of months, after the first things will have been released, and we look back at this, we will scratch our heads and realize that we still don’t know what’s so special and unique.i don’t know. it’s \"just\" their archive (no disrespect). no need to blow things up.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorummm… sounds like a different version indeed. the only thing they seem to have in common is the paper insert. (is that even identical, or does it just look very similar?)
what about the text you can see on that scan? is that also present on your copy?anyway, right now i wouldn’t conclude that the one i linked to is a premaster. just because both come with the same insert, doesn’t necessarily mean they contain the same audio. it’s not impossible though. we will have to ask eazye121 to rip a track from his green virgin logo cd. then we can check.
eazye121? can you rip and share the everlasting gaze from your machina promo cd?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori believe EAZYE121 also owns a copy of it.
it would be very awesome to get a proper flac rip of it (preferably made with EAC, with correct offset settings, etc.)
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoryes, it is.
(your 15-track wasn’t unmastered. only stand inside your love and half of glass and the ghost children was better (less compressed) than the commercial release.)this is the one mayo has: http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?pa … &item=2602

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorYes, I’m certain that it is.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorThanks Arthur for the audio files. I checked them and can conclude that:
– this cd does not contain an alternate mix for The Sacred and Profane
– this cd does not contain any pre-mastered audioIt’s a nice promo cd, but the audio is identical to the commercial release.
On the other hand, mayonaise has sent me audio from another Machina promo, and the results are very interesting. I believe we found the pre-master, at last!

Let me just say this: OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoryeah, i think the 1cd and the 2cd version are \"mixed\" together into one long continuous track, resulting in different track lengths for the different songs. the 3cd version has the full songs, not mixed together.
i noticed you can buy every version for about £15 each on http://www.cdwow.com (and they have free worldwide shipping).
they also have a http://www.cdwow.nl, but most of the time it’s way cheaper to buy it in pounds instead of euros, so i go to the uk website at http://www.cdwow.com.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI got this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greatest_H … es,_Vol._1 (the UK 2xCD version)
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori don’t think it’s a set up. i mean, the seller doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with it. some people act stupid on their own.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorYeah, great ’92 poster. Awesome.

Cool As Ice CreamSpectator– a flac (or wave) of any song (The Everlasting Gaze would be good, for example)[/quote:1wn3zqdm]
I think an mp3 of The Everlasting Gaze would also be enough for us to see if it’s a pre-master or not. Flac is better, but mp3 should work too (in case flac would be a problem).
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorcan anyone else hear manillascissor driving a new gold-plated nail into the wall, ready for iha’s cd to be hung from it?[/quote:5n6t1uc6]
i wish. this is well out of my price range.
[/quote:5n6t1uc6]
yeah man, those nails are really expensive.2009.04.26 at 1:39 pm in reply to: Smashing Pumpkins âmemorabilia divisionâ to run eBay sales #35304
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorAnd if it finances the Archive project, then it is to our benefit also. So I think it’s a good idea.[/quote:3bqlh9pt]
good point.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori agree.

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorwell, what kind of archive starts selling its content? that’s a weird archive in my book.
but mostly, i think this will get so much attention on the official website and forum that the auctions will get over-hyped. result: insane bids. or, in other words, impossible to ever win anything.
i might be wrong.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorActually, besides the Eye Promo tape that I had back in the day[/quote:ybn6i6pp]
Uhmmm… kidding, right? We hear everywhere that it doesn’t exist, and even Billy said it doesn’t exist… Do you still have pics of it? Would be cool![/quote:ybn6i6pp]
he doesn’t mean the pre-gish tape, but a (1997?) promo tape for the song eye, off the lost highway soundtrack.ps: collectspumpkins, where’s your website? i can’t find it with google anymore.
edit: never mind, i found it: http://www.geocities.com/collectspumpkins

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatordoesn’t sound like a good idea to me.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorwere there any other bidders? if it went for only £6, competition can’t have been too high.
and i still don’t understand it. i’m confused. what exactly is coming your way now? the ebay vhs? or a signed vhs from ron roesing, via a friend? or did a friend buy it on ebay? or are you getting two video cassettes? the ebay one, and a signed one from ron roesing, via a friend?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori recently got a chinese siamese dream cd. the regular jewel case comes in a cardboard slipcase. i’m convinced it’s a bootleg. there’s an ifpi code on the silver side of the cd, but i think they just faked that one as well.
i was curious how it would look like and it was quite cheap on ebay, so i thought, oh well, why not?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorthat’s from roesing? i thought someone made it from an online download.
jebus.

how expensive was it?[/quote:2hpdbj54]
I’m assuming you mean the one that was on eBay, it went for £6-odd UK.
This upcoming one might be it (?), I didn’t ask as it’s via a friend as a present/gift.[/quote:2hpdbj54]
yes, i was talking about the cassette that was on ebay recently. the description was very short and just mentioned that there were two songs on the video, and that it was old school or something.is that the one your friend got for you, or don’t you know?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorthat’s from roesing? i thought someone made it from an online download.
jebus.

how expensive was it?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori myself was still thinking about it. i wasn’t sure if i was interested enough. ($40 seemed fair.)[/quote:1j78kgk4]
It ain’t gonna happen for 40$ obviously because the negative vibe in the air just makes it all so icky. And I don’t do icky anymore.[/quote:1j78kgk4]
I think Billy’s message made it all very icky. Maybe I should simply conclude not to do icky anymore either, and not participate.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoranother very unfortunate aspect of this message is that it was sent to everyone who already subscribed to the newsletter. this is, the people who were interested in these in-studio video streams, no matter what. and they get an angry billy rant in return. not very smart…
