Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori’m watching this one.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorwow. that last one i saw was 300 or 400 pounds, i think. and i don’t think it got sold.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorwell, my first copy was sealed. i opened it. (duh.)
then i got two more sealed copies. because i was looking for another open copy (see start thread), i finally decided to open another one.
not much later i found two cheap opened copies. didn’t really need them, but bought them anyway.
if only i had waited a bit longer with opening the second one…
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI’ve only seen it a couple of times. Two or three times. Not more.
The last one I remember was the gold cd-r version, but the cd didn’t have any text written on it.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatortempting, but i’m going to invest my money in a new dryer and microwave oven.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI agree with that sentiment: for such a limited release, why make two different versions?
And this has stopped me from bidding on previous eBay auctions. Just the thought that one of the two versions is very likely to be fake, and not being 100% sure which one. Nobody wants to pay a couple of hundred of dollars for a fake.
Although, if you give it some thought, the easy conclusion is that the gold cd-r version (without numbering, without hut and virgin logo) has to be the real version.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI had two sealed copies, but I opened one.
I believe I have five copies now. Not sure.Edit: Now that I think about it, I have owned three sealed copies (not at the same moment), but I opened two. Me so silly!

Anyway, sorry, I have no spare sealed copy.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorNah, all went well. But I’m looking for a second copy of Zeitgeist.
I’m no longer looking for another copy of TheFutureEmbrace. I’m swimming in those these days.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorMy problem with this scenario is, if a bootlegger had a genuine copy (he must have had one, to get so close to the original copy, don’t you think so?), then why didn’t he just copy the artwork as is?[/quote:9lpn06t8]
that’s a good question. i wondered the same thing.maybe the bootlegger didn’t have a copy, or not the complete thing. for example: he only had the audio and a scan of the front insert. maybe he even found these online.
so he had to recreate the back insert. (maybe he had seen the back, or he had seen a picture of it, but he didn’t have a good scan, so he couldn’t really use the picture.)it would be interesting to have an audio rip of the second version. if the bootlegger got the audio online, as mp3s, we would be able to detect that and close this case for good.
right now i agree that it’s still open, but i’m still leaning towards bootleg. the fact that this one showed up only in 2007 is also a bit suspicious, in my opinion.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorhas quite a few surface marks (due to the fact that acetates are quite soft)[/quote:1gqjpfyw]
lol.and yeah, i was also thinking 100 max.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorWhere did you get the story that the cd was given away by the radio station as a prize in a contest? I never heard that before.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorOne more question: the front insert of your copy, is it single or double (folded)? And do you know if the eBay version has a single or a double front insert? I can’t really tell from the pictures, but maybe someone else can.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorwow, shit.
a couple of weeks ago, there was a sealed one, and the starting bid was £125, and nobody bid on it. now this one is opened/used and it goes for £184, at least.

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorNumbered one?? I would wager that a numbered one would be fake, to be honest. It isn’t ECIM, as I’ve already owned that previously. This is something I’ve never owned before and again, we know of 2 different versions, and the one I will be receiving will make it the 3rd version out there.[/quote:16zpxpce]
there are two different versions on spfreaks.com. the numbered one looks suspicious. it also has logos from virgin and hut on the back. very strange.apparently there is a reason to believe it’s real anyway, because it’s listed under the official cd releases instead of the bootlegs. if someone knows what that reason is, please let me know.
if the only reason is what is in the extra information ("As the glossy artwork is exactly the same as the other type, we presume it’s genuine.") then i think we should retract that reason, because the artwork isn’t exactly the same. the front seems to be a copy, so it indeed looks the same (but the colours are worse), but the back is not the same. both versions show a part of the adore cover (zoomed in), but they don’t show the same part.
and then there’s of course the fact that out of nowhere, there’s a hut and virgin logo, and the fact that it’s numbered. makes no sense to me.version 1: http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?pa … LS&item=78
version 2 (the suspicious one): http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?pa … S&item=991
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorGood job Shawn, I’m very curious what it is!! Could it be En Concierto En Mexico? If so,…
[/quote:qk18gt6s]
i’m also very curious.and my first though was also "en concierto en mexico", but in that case i’d be less excited. i think it’s very suspicious that there are two versions already. and although i’m not 100% sure, i think the numbered one is a fake.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorwell, good luck.
maybe you should get one of those vinyls and make a 24/96 rip yourself?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorhaven’t seen a mcis vinyl rip being shared, let alone a 24/96 one.
i don’t think my soundcard is good enough to record in 24/96.and i think it’s a bit lame that you ask someone else to upload it on mediafire, so that you can then upload it via bittorrent. i know this doesn’t really work for you, because you want to be the uploader, but for everyone else involved it seems more logical if the person who has this immediately shares this via bittorrent.
why don’t you just upload a couple of things that aren’t on that private tracker site yet? it can’t be that hard to upload 1.2 gb if you’re the original seeder.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI already have it.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI disagree with your reasons to buy this.
But whatever, of course. Do as you please.

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorSo that concert was already available, eyh?
[/quote:3hyuijic]
There are several recordings of radio broadcasts available. But that doesn’t mean your recording is redundant: everytime they aired it, they played different songs from the concert.I don’t have time right now to look further into it. Maybe later. Thanks for sharing.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorhaha, ok.
thanks a lot. i’ll check it out when i get home.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori’m fairly certain that you have the 2000-01-07 show, from sweden.
they never played x.y.u. in denmark in 2000. also, the song order makes more sense.
and this isn’t such a strong argument, but it’s more logical that a swedish radio station airs a swedish show (and not a danish one, especially if a swedish one is available).
check it out for yourself:

http://www.splra.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tsp2000-10-27 (another denmark)
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoranother option to upload your files is http://www.mediafire.com
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoralso, what show and what songs?
it’s not unlikely that these songs are already being shared everywhere. http://www.splra.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tsp2000-01-07
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorwhat did you record it on? is it on cassette, minidisc, cd, …?
or did you save it as a file (/files) on your pc? and if so, what file format? -
