Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorJebus, it’s all Pumpkins! What do people say when they visit your place?
I have a poster from the Sacred and Profane tour up in my living room right now. But I’m thinking about taking it down, ’cause it’s really big and I don’t want my house to be all Pumpkins.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorYeah, I don’t really care about these displays either. But I was looking for another copy of 1991-1998 EU, for upgrade reasons. 20 euro isn’t cheap, but it isn’t too expensive either, especially if you consider the cd is sealed. And it comes with the display thingy.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatordo you know what the two white squares on one side of the display card are?[/quote:3q1o2p1y]
The display card was probably meant to slide in behind a Smashing Pumpkins divider in a row of CDs. The white square things are sticky if you remove the siding and would stick to divider to advertise the newest album.[/quote:3q1o2p1y]
I see.But why did they put the tracklist of the 1991-1998 promo on the display card? This promo wasn’t available for the buying public, was it? So why spend about half of the space on its tracklist?
Also, did you notice how they say Landslide is a b-side of Disarm, which isn’t incorrect, but it would be more logical if they said "Landslide (Pisces Iscariot 1994)".
Or, and this is way off, "Eye (Pisces Iscariot 1996)".
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatordo you know what the two white squares on one side of the display card are?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI don’t think it ever came packed together: both cd and and display are sealed separately. I think that’s also the case with the copy on spfreaks.com. Correct me if I’m wrong. (Manilla?)
Anyway, nobody else bid on it, and I got it for 20 euro (+ 4,30 euro shipping).
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorthis one arrived today: http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?pa … &item=2075
cd and display stand are sealed.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorarcade fire – arcade fire
sufjan stevens – the avalanche
pixies – come on pilgrim
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI also don’t think these all belong together. My guess is that the person who received the snakeskin promo also received some other promos, and then decided to bundle these when selling them.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorA friend of mine was going to see them in Sweden in april 1994. He had bought the ticket, and of course due to Kurdt Kobains suicide there was no gig so he actually sent back the ticket. How stupid wasn’t that?
That ticket could be worth something today perhaps.[/quote:2pef9bms]
I really doubt it.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorIf you didn’t know they played under a different name, then how did you find this poster?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorhow much?[/quote:133pas0v]
82 euro.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori just won the lost highway vinyl on ebay. finally.
i’m throwing a party on the day it arrives.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI own number 16,771.
And I’ve seen number 23,028 on eBay. I know that’s a bit weird, because numbers up to 18,000 you see quite often, but besides this one copy on eBay, I’ve never seen any copy with a number higher than 20,000, let alone higher than 23,000.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI compared my SD vinyls. Some vinyls are indeed more flexible than others. I guess this could indicate that they’re not as thick/heavy.
I don’t have a scale, so I can’t weigh them. And I don’t trust my hands to precisely feel the difference in weight between two vinyls.I call the vinyl colours you have black, purple and peach.
In my collection, the black and the peach vinyl feel similar, the purple vinyl seems to be a bit thinner.I also compared with the UK Hut release, and that one is also thicker. But I really doubt any of the Siamese Dream vinyls weigh 180 gram.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI’ve heard only the numbered are "real"? However, there are 15000 copies numbered.[/quote:22fe42cg]
That’s incorrect. They did a second pressing that was unnumbered. And there are definitely more than 15,000 copies of the numbered pressing.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI don’t know how I know.
The song comes from this cassette: http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?pa … &item=1689
It’s called Chump here.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorYes, it’s Jimmy.
You can here Billy too, here and there.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI do have lots of coloured Siamese Dream vinyls. I never noticed that the orange one was heavier, but if I find the courage, I will check on it.
How orange is your orange vinyl? Is it really orange, or rather peach? And is it all orange, or can you see other colours as well? (White, yellow, red, or black?)
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI really would like to hear those acoustic song
[/quote:6t01cwvr]
They’re most likely from this radio show: http://www.splra.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tsp1996-03-13(And I think Landslide is just Landslide as it was released.)
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoromg he’s singing about clapham junction i have been there!!!
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorsee Denmark promo for Tarantula for example).[/quote:2arocgp9]
Dont you mean The Rose March, gramps ?[/quote:2arocgp9]
I don’t know: There’s a picture of the Tarantula promo in this thread. But we have probably been confusing the That’s the Way promo (never seen a Danish promo of it) with the Rose March promo.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI thought you wanted it? ‘Cause it’s so sweet and real?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorWhat about the belgien promo of Thats the way,.That little fucker looks a little suspicious as well ?[/quote:3nvk3hqr]
Comes in cardsleeve? Nah, I think that’s a little over the top for a bootlegger. Vinyl like MCIS? Always brings in loads of cash, but a Belgian promo w/ cardsleeve? Not so much.
I think that Belgian promo is sweet and real, and I want one.
[/quote:3nvk3hqr]
It doesn’t come in a cardsleeve. Just a piece of paper in a plastic sleeve.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorWhat’s strange is we are not used to WB promos in general. Only thing we can go on is TEITBITE releases, and they all looked legit.
I have my doubts about the AU promos as well.[/quote:1yvdmn9r]
TEITBITE was back in the day when they weren’t using cd-rs as often as today. What (kind of) convinced me that these Swedish promos are legit, is that a seller who was selling the That’s the Way promo on eBay, also had a lot of other EU and Scandinavian promos for sale, and some looked similar, but others looked a lot better, like they weren’t even cd-rs.
Someone who would be faking these to make some money would typically only sell similar fake looking promos.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorNow playing: The Aeroplane Flies High
