Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorThe show also appears on http://www.livesmashingpumpkins.com (their http://www.livedownloads.com website).
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorYes but what hapened if less than 50 copies were "pressed" ? Perhaps it’s very limited ?[/quote:1lbqz7q1]
that would surprise me, because two of them are already on ebay. and one of them is in america, the other one is in france. so these were probably sent out to people in america and europe, and who knows where.it’s not impossible, but it seems unlikely that this promo is very limited.
i have more reasons to think this, but i don’t feel like typing them all out.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorThat’s probably what everyone in this thread is thinking…
Aw, forget it. I’ll wait for the next one.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI hope so.
The extremely high price for the first one might convince more people to put their copy on eBay. (People who don’t want to go to the trouble for $5, but that are interested in a possible $100.) This would be a good thing for us, the buyers. Because the more copies on eBay, the cheaper the price will be.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorHow rare it is depends on how many copies they make.
But maybe this is what you’re trying to say: This promo is more interesting than any other recent promo, because the song can’t be found anywhere else (yet). More people will want it, because they want GLOW on cd.
Compare that to a one-track promo cd for Tarantula or That’s the Way: only collectors are interested in those. People who want those songs on cd can buy or have bought Zeitgeist. They don’t see the point in buying the song again on a promo cd.If GLOW would get a proper cd release, on a European single, or on a compilation cd somewhere, for example, I’m sure interest in this particular promo cd (cd-r?) will drop.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorWe will laugh about this in a month, when eBay is flooded with $5 copies and nobody is buying them anymore.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorIt’s eBay!
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorA thought I just had: The promo probably doesn’t look like the promos we’re used to, because they haven’t been released by a record label.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorThis is a real radio promo. Apparently some radio stations received a watermarked download (via Play MPE), others got this cd.
It hasn’t been confirmed if this is a cd-r or a silver cd. I think it’s a cd-r. The \"slim case\" looks just like the ones that come with cd-rs, and nothing like the cd cases they normally use for singles or promos.
My guess: cd-r + front insert, nothing more
I find it a bit weird that it is sealed and that it has such a sticker though…I also think more of these will come on eBay later, so I’m not going to bid on this expensive first one.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori just bought a sealed 1979 mixes 12\" for $8 (+$12 shipping…)
booya.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorbut I’m looking forward way more to the preview of the whole dvd in Gent[/quote:3mtwjpit]
Do you think they will show the entire dvd or even both of them?
I thought they would only show the documentary "If All Goes Wrong", and nothing else.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorlol wtf
see you next time indeed.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI would love to hear that song live [/quote:23v02a18]
The only recorded show I know : 17 April 1999 @ The Metropol – Pittsburgh, PA
[url:23v02a18]http://smashingpumpkins.com/audio_upload/audio/1999-04-17_pittsburgh/[/url:23v02a18]
Anybody knows if this song was recorded elsewhere ?[/quote:23v02a18]
most of the april ’99 shows were recorded and they all had la dolly vita. so yeah, there are definitely more recordings of la dolly vita.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorwhat would be the best time to buy these, in terms of euro-dollar rate? will the dollar go up or down? on $400, it can make a difference.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorDo you think GLOW was recorded by the entire band, or just by Billy and Jimmy?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorwhat makes you think that it’s fanmade?
this pic makes me believe the website playMPE used this image to promote the release of GLOW. i can’t imagine they’d use some random fan-made artwork…
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorThe thing is,i remember seeing MCIS in the shops when it was out and thinking,"the mini-disc thing’ll never take off".I’m regreting it now,though.[/quote:zog9fkb1]
You were absolutely right though. The mini-disc thing never took off.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI pre-ordered a couple of shows : Chicago 18 & 19 November.
I selected "France" in the shipping address, and I paid ~ $US39, so I suppose shipping is included ?!?[/quote:pv5horze]
how can the price be around $39 if one show on cd costs $21.95? shouldn’t the price be at least $43.90?i’m confused.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorThanks a lot for posting those pictures!
I also expect them to look like this, but with different artwork on both the sticker and the cd.
I agree that $22 is quite expensive for a cd-r. We have to be fair though, it is most likely that you’re getting 2 cd-rs. But still. $22 for two cd-rs is not cheap. The sticker and the way they print the artwork on the cd don’t look too crappy though. Could have been a lot worse.
Oh, and did I understand this correctly: is shipping to anywhere in the world included in that $22?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorthey have a non-radio and non-webstream version of GLOW though.

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI’m not collecting minidiscs.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorsatan
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorHahahaha
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoraw, dammit, i’m still looking for that one. and for the australian promo too.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI’m not impressed.[/quote:ypg73iqr]
WHAT???
may I ask why? Just want to hear your intake
thanks[/quote:ypg73iqr]
it seems quite boring to me. it’s only a good three minutes, but even that seems too long. nothing much happens in the song.i’m sure i’d like it a bit better if a decent quality version comes out. the mp3 i downloaded (from the premiere on q101) sounds quite bad.
