ArthurSpectatorSince there was room enough on 2 cds, I stuffed in 2 more songs. 2 songs from the 20th Anniversary Tour, what else?
ArthurSpectatorMarquis in Spades [28] +
Pennies [1] –
Medellia of the Gray Skies [24]
The Last Song [2]
The Aeroplane Flies High [14]
ArthurSpectatorI’ve been replaying SD all day. It had been a while since I had listened to it. The guitar & bass lines are, for lack of a politer word, orgasmic.
And I have also been listening to all the new songs. I’m in a Pumpkins overload mood.[/quote:3ttp94dn]
I know that feeling, I have that many times too…
ArthurSpectatormayo, kiddo… sit down and please take 1 tip from grandpa.
NEVER EVER let loverboy take away your hobby. There are 4 things very important in daily life (work for 8 hours, sleep for 8 hours, be together for 6 hours, and be alone for 2 hours) and any 2 people in a good relationship should understand that. The hours mentioned are rough estimates of course, and can/will change over time/on a personal level. But anyway, you get what I mean, right?
ArthurSpectatorI thought I had something to do with it, yeah…
ArthurSpectatorThis messageboard/Arthur – I’ve belabored my love of him before, he is all-mighty in my eyes.[/quote:3ly9t0ot]
You gotta be kidding, right? How sweet to say that…
Anyway, I second it big times, this place gives me a daily moment to look forward too every time. You know, I meant this place to be a platform for international Smashing Pumpkins music lovers, the coolest collectors of it worldwide, silly & respectful fans of the band from all over the place that can be themselves here, and last but not least: people that know what it is to be friends and to be helpful to each other. I think this idea has succeeded over time till now, and I thank you for that, guys. You made it happen, you rock!
Also I’m thankful for having my girlfriend, that accepts my mistakes, and I have forgiven hers. It is hard sometimes, being together like the big stubborn egos we both are, but she proves to be worthwhile every time again, I’m amazed of such loyalty…
ArthurSpectatorI am a vampire…
your virtual blood makes me young again…

The Aeroplane Flies High [13]I was away for the whole weekend, but I’m back!
ArthurSpectatorI was at that show and I have waited so long for any decent recording to surface. Very nice mini interview (oral sex? oh Bolly…) and Today is pretty good. When the band took the stage dressed as the Beatles… priceless…[/quote:1g8bovn8]
Here’s the only (audience) recording I know of that whole show. Enjoy!http://www.sendspace.com/file/3jcfj7

10. X.Y.U.By the way, Money & X.Y.U. are available in soundboard quality also, from the "Friends And Enemies Of Modern Music (60m cassette)"* So here you go, both the FLAC (lossless) version and the MP3 version of those 2 songs (I just LOVE the way how the Smashing Pumpkins did X.Y.U.!
):

*Info copied from my text files:
"From a 60m cassette given by Billy Corgan to an online fan in April 2000, with instructions to "circulate these". The compilation was originally to be a 90m tape, but it got screwed up, so he dug up the Gravity demos instead, and made this 60m tape the next day. Two tracks were cut, on the end of each side… "Well, tough shit."
note: not to be confused with the band’s final self-released album, Machina II/the Friends & Enemies of Modern Music."
ArthurSpectatorAnd here is something not many people have I’m quite sure. James Iha played in 1987 in a band called Snake Train before he joined the Smashing Pumpkins, and he still played with them in (early) 1988, next to his cooperation with Billy Corgan. In 1988 Snake Train released a demo cassette, with James Iha on guitar. See pics below.
Here are 8 Snake Train songs, some of them came from that cassette if I’m right (but they might have come from another cassette also, since the tracklist is partly different), for you to enjoy! Rock on!

(PS that 1987-1988 period is a little vague, I hope my info is about right!)

ArthurSpectatorI’m quite sure Quiet will be on this compilation also. It’s one of my favourite rockin’ live tracks…
[/quote:os9biru1]
quiet rules! its got an awesome speed metal solo and so does an ode to know one. id’e also throw in maybe geek usa, the aeroplane flies high, superchrist!, the everlasting gaze, and united states, other than the ones already mentioned.
and your quote arthur, is one part of an ending to a show i’ll never forget.[/quote:os9biru1]
heheAnd I’m quite sure most of these suggested songs will appear on this compilation too. I think I will do more then 1 song per year, to cover all you guys wishes, as all other suggestions are very good too!
ArthurSpectatorI have to excuse for manillascissor, he’s probably on medication, drugs, booze or all 3 of them.
Because he forgot the potently winged signature of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the middle.
