What (kind of) convinced me that these Swedish promos are legit, is that a seller who was selling the That’s the Way promo on eBay, also had a lot of other EU and Scandinavian promos for sale, and some looked similar, but others looked a lot better, like they weren’t even cd-rs.
Someone who would be faking these to make some money would typically only sell similar fake looking promos.[/quote:2zogvas0]
I have the same way of thinking about my Israeli promos. For some unknown reason they all appeared on the market a while back, but not only Smashing Pumpkins promos, also promos for other bands’ releases. I gave the other promos a look every now and then also, and I thought it would make not much sense to create that promo stuff in such rather huge quantities for rather cheap prices, and another thing: in such variety of stickers/logos/fonts etc. When that action was meant to make a lot of money with fake promos for many bands, it would have been discovered sooner or later, like with the Earphoria 1994 fake promos. Does this make sense? Again, I truly believe the Australian and Swedish promos are genuine. Furthermore, Virgin didn’t do much in Scandinavia when it comes to promo releases, but Warner Brothers obviously has a promo policy for Scandinavia, I like to think (see Denmark promo for Tarantula for example).

In Sweden it is too cold to write properly, and in Ozzieland live all the deported criminals from the UK. You think they can write? Or create proper promo releases? No way. All promos are legit, I’m 99.9999% sure.

By the way, Jimmy’s last name is in fact Chamberlain, and not Chamberlin. There is a story behind this, but I cannot recall that now.

Then I checked splra.org and they have an FM>DAT recording listed of Today and the interview. That must be someone who taped that radio show you just bought, Arthur.

I couldn’t help buying this 3cd radio set. I have emailed a few times with the seller (an actual radio dj himself) and he was rightaway willing to ship to Europe, instead of to US only. As we are both Kiss fans (yes, I used to be one in the old days before Smashing Pumpkins came into my live! ), it was a nice conversation, and I’m VERY proud of this buy. As far as I know (correct me if I’m wrong) there have no soundboard quality songs leaked from that very special Pumpkins concert, except for Money & X.Y.U. Now we can add Today to that little list also. As far as the seller knows there are just a few of these 3cd sets on the market (he only knew of 2, including this one) and he is a Kiss collector for 22 years already. So I guess he knows what he talks about. Anyway, this is what I’m talking about:
