I’m not that impressed, however I see some potential into the direction of either Mars Volta or Godspeed, You Black Emperor.

We know that the 2008 track G.L.O.W. is only available on a highly sought after promo CD single (pictured below), and it is available on a promotional compilation CD called Nu Rock Traxx Volume 117. Today I added another promo CD to this small list: Top Hits U.S.A. T975. G.L.O.W. remains a really rare track to obtain on CD… :?

Real Estate Agent (left): Yes, sir. We thought that would be appropriate to host your vinyl collection.

    thanks!

you somehow created a new "billy corgan" category, because it says 63 under one and 1 under the other.

    two billy corgan dropdown options.

    :?:[/quote:2ihbqyl9]
I noticed that last night too, yes. In fact the whole Artist table in the SPfreaks SQL database contains double entries for all artists (and on the site you can see Zwan also has 2 options already). Weird, no idea how that came to life. I’ll try to figure that out tonight and correct it.

Sounds like a good deal. Both vinyls in good condition, and the Mashed Potatoes have not reached their due date? What’s the asking price? Shipment to The Netherlands of all this possible? Tax and health insurance included? Just a few random questions, hope you understand. :)

(I played the Gish album in the Arthur Home Stereo yesterday. Well, 4 times anyway. But I guess that’s way less newsworthy.)

there is really nothing that points to it being a 2000-ish release[/quote:2wwtyagh]
The barcode not having the text ‘Remastered’ (=1994), and no codes like CARLP 16 or HUTLP 2 (=1991) pointing us in other directions. I think we choose 2000 (ish) because nobody remembered seeing it before that.

One of them reacted. \"You’re right! I need to change my auction. Thanks.\" He now put the year 2000 in the title and in the description, and lowered the Buy It Now price with almost 80% to $57.75. I’m talking about this auction:

I was in a  mood just now, and picked 3 of the most expensive sellers on eBay, and send them all this message.

Hi, I noticed you have this Gish vinyl for sale. I’m sorry to disappoint you, but this is NOT a 1991 release from the US. First of all, there was no 1991 US vinyl release at all. Only in Germany (CARLP 16) and in the UK (HUTLP 2) the Gish vinyl was released in 1991. The next clue is the barcode on the back, top right. That exact barcode was used on the 2000-ish reissue of Gish (which, by the way, contains the remastered tracks from the 1994 Gish release). Lastly, the condition of this sealed product indicates a much younger age. In my humble opinion, a sealed copy of this 2000 release is worth $15-$20, since it is still widely available in brick-and-mortar shops, and on eBay alike. (Few sellers here ask rather extreme prices also, though) However, I’m sure you are willing to change your auction accordingly, right? I’m not a future bidder by the way, since I own this vinyl already. Thanks for listening, Arthur

Just won an EMI promo CD from Chile called ‘Prioritarios’ with the Smashing Pumpkins track Stand Inside Your Love. So far we only know Chile from releasing the Zwan album, and Zeitgeist. Quite rare, such Machina-era promo from Chile, I think.[/quote:3pb90z9i]

don’t forget about thefutureembrace. there is a chilean version of that as well. ;)[/quote:3pb90z9i]

for that incomplete entry on spfreaks.com, i would change one of the two release codes to CAROL 1705, which is on the label, and on the spine of the sleeve. (or at least add it to one of the codes.)

    the matrix codes are: "CAR-1705-A HUTLPX-2A-1", and "CAR-1705-B HUTLPX2B-1".[/quote:1cqouzq8]
    Done.

http://www.spfreaks.com/?page=COLLDETAILS&item=2065 US 1991 copy – pressed in UK? (CAROL 1465)[/quote:o96gwrep]
Yes, since the 1991 UK copy is HUT all over:

    http://www.spfreaks.com/?page=COLLDETAILS&item=133

Makes it fair to believe that if the artwork is all US, and presuming the jewelcase contains the original CD, then it was pressed in the UK. That’s what the matrix codes say at least.

    http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?page=COLLDETAILS&item=3354 US 1994 copy[/quote:o96gwrep]
1991 date has been changed to 1994 date.

the australian copy also seems to have an IFPI code, so the release date here is probably off too.

According to discogs the 2000 version has the word "remastered" below the barcode and this one does not.[/quote:1667z9jq]
For many reasons I don’t always trust Discogs information. The people contributing there are not as ‘freaky’ as our little community. However, I notice one missing link: the matrix codes. It’s not on SPfreaks, shame on us.

    http://www.spfreaks.com/?page=COLLDETAILS&item=2667

Matrix codes still should be filled in for this item. Anyone? Or is Cool just saying that the matrix code is HUTLPX2 on this upload? ("The matrix code on the vinyl even contains the "HUTLPX2" id.")

Then, MayonaiseBoy, you might also want to ask the seller one last time, to provide these matrix codes. That is, if he happens to have more copies of those 8 ordered and received, with one of them opened. Of course he wouldn’t want to open the sealed copy he is trying to sell…

other question: has anyone ever seen a purple cd book?
or does the purple only appear on that one promotional picture? (i guess the promo pic could just be a digital representation of what the box set was supposed to look like; that it’s not an actual picture of a real box set. that doesn’t seem impossible to me. maybe they just got to colour wrong while creating the promo pic?)

any US mcis deluxe box set owners, maybe?[/quote:1hjvy7fa]

mine is purple, definitely dark purple. Virgin America made in EU.[/quote:1hjvy7fa]
Oops, almost forgot about this inquiry.

My CD book from the US box set contains dark blue velvet. Definately not the purple color of the promotional picture. I don’t own the EU box set, so maybe Sven and the undersigned should meet someday soon and compare. :)

Not completely new since we know about holograms and other virtual figures playing ‘live’ music for a while already, however it still surprises me how things sometimes move forward in this world: the japanese manga cartoon version of a virtual artist backed by a live band. I wonder when these cartoons will start playing instruments too.

Lip sync needs some work, though.
