Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorare you the one that outbid me on that belgian that’s the way promo?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorHopefully I will be hearing the new single in 5 days[/quote:2lapx44o]
how so?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori have that canadian untitled promo. i hug it every night before i go to bed.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoryeah, i think wlps are identical to the copies that are released. except for the labels and the sleeve, of course.
quantity: not sure. it’s always a bit of a guess. but i see them on ebay quite often (especially peel sessions and cherub rock), so some of them aren’t that rare at all. or at least, so it seems.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorthanks for those scans.
some of the hut white label promos have the yellowish labels, some have the more pinkish labels. no big deal. we’ve seen those before.
i think this is simply a regular white label promo with two different labels. maybe because they refilled the label machine with another colour?
all in all nothing too special, in my opinion. a funny coincidence.
i’m not sure how labels are attached: record per record (side a, side b; side a, side b; …) or first all sides a, and then all sides b.
if it’s record per record, this could be one of a kind.
if they first do all a-sides and then all b-sides, it’s not unlikely that there are more of these mixed label promos around.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoryeah, someone just replaced the original hut sleeve.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorCAIC, get him to take pictures (NOT SCANS!) of said vinyl, holding a slip of paper with the date on it (in every pic), at different ranges (close enough/high quality/large enough to see tell-tale details but also so that it’s clearly the vinyl in question. Get him to put a jewel case near it to prove its scale. Then get him to do two new scans – on with the dated slip, one without.
Yeah, it’s paranoid and probably a little too much detail. But it might be important.[/quote:2eh6nfgz]
just to make things clear: i won’t do any of that.
i might ask for bigger scans of the front and back of the sleeve, and the two labels on the vinyl, to upload on spfreaks.com. but that’s it.i’ve also been in the it-does-not-exist-camp, because i have never seen it before. and there are more things that exist that we had never seen before (see that tristessa 12" test pressing), but with a commercial release like this, one would believe that it would be easier to come across a copy. right?
this person says it exists, because he owns a copy. and when he says he recently checked his collection and found both the hut and the caroline release, i believe him.
however, he was going to provide scans, and the ones he uploaded to spfc.org seem to be from the cd, so i will ask him about it.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorOr SPFC uploaded the wrong pics.[/quote:d6n7vpkb]
this is what i’m thinking.i agree that it’s unlikely that the back of the vinyl would look identical to the (enlarged) back of the cd.
but like i said, this person has absolutely no reason to lie to me. and unless my memory is playing tricks, he did tell me he recently checked his collection and found the US release of the lull 12".
so, going by that info, i believe it exists, even if the scans on spfc.org are from the cd.to be continued.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorwell, maybe he did, for whatever reason.
but he also explicitely mentioned that he finally checked his collection and that the us vinyl was there. why would he do that? as a joke?i mean, i’ve asked about vinyls on spfc.org before and he has checked things and agreed that there were no known copies of a certain release and then corrected it on spfc.org. i’m fairly certain he would have done the same thing if he didn’t find the us vinyl release in his collection.
anyway, i’ll send him an email and ask him about the \"cd vs. vinyl\" scans. and about the us release of the vinyl, of course.
to be continued.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorBram
You ever find that guy that claimed to have a US Lull 12"?This could easily be another myth busted.[/quote:ygzpfm5o]
yes. i asked him again, and he checked it again, confirmed it existed and uploaded scans onto spfc.org: http://www.spfc.org/songs-releases/disc … g_disp=imgunfortunately, the caroline 12" scans look exactly like scans from the cd to me. coincidence? (whereas there’s a clear difference between the hut cd and the hut vinyl.)
on the other hand, i trust this guy. he wouldn’t tell me lies like that.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorSPfreaks 4eva!
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI must say I confirmed my Lull on the collection page..It is the first printing-YAY!![/quote:11ns2fkj]
you mean the lull cd? because if you’re talking about the vinyl, i believe there were no second pressings.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorit was i!
doesn’t matter. you bid higher, so it’s yours. that’s how ebay works.
i was also interested in this cd, but only a little bit. hence the low bid.[/quote:1sdjfn4t]
Still looking for it?http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie … 0239153829[/quote:1sdjfn4t]
thanks, but it was another promo, with only two tracks.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorIt’s only the sneaky behaviour that is irritating, when for days and days you think to have won an auction and in the last minute it goes to someone else anyway.[/quote:1ueukg2x]
that’s where you’re wrong: you should never think you won the item, just because you are the highest bidder for a while.half of the times i also place my bid hours or days in advance.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori have a couple of jcc releases, including promos. but i have no scanner right now.
i also have some james iha stuff that isn’t on spfreaks.com yet.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorit is supposed to exist.
what reasons do we have to think that it doesn’t, except for the fact that we haven’t found a copy yet?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori don’t always do it, but last minute bidding is the smartest thing to do. it keeps the price as low as possible.
i’ve had some problems with ebay. once a cd arrived broken, because it was sent in a regular paper envelope, and the seller refused to give me a refund. once i bought two rare vinyls and they never arrived. and once i bought a radio cd that looked fake and i sent it back to the seller after we agreed on a refund, but i never got that refund. so i actually wasted even more money on it by sending it back.

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorthe mp3s are also available on http://www.rspaa.org. i don’t think they’re ~240 kbps vbr, but they must be at least ~192 kbps vbr, so definitely good enough.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori’m still looking for this one.
