Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoryes, he’s a fan. from back in the day. and still.

Wood is a music lover, owning 4,000 CDs and at one time citing his favorite band as Smashing Pumpkins.[/quote:14o8qdou]
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori think both theories can exist at the same time.
if you look at them as \"everything improves\" and \"everything gets worse\", then yeah, they contradict each other. but that’s not really what they’re saying. that’s too simple.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorhas a US pressing of the vinyl been confirmed?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorheh.
he’s a big fan, isn’t he?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorit is being discussed on other messageboards. the threads are very long though; having multiple discussions at the same time.
i don’t know what actually happened. one thing i’ve heard is that some of the digital releases have replaced the reissued plume with a version that sounds like the ’94 plume, but is a bit \"louder\". that makes it look as if it was a fuck up, and they tried to correct it for the downloads.
monty also mentioned that \"a fix is in the works\". but i’m not sure if that’s related to the different version of plume, or the other problems that have been mentioned. they’ve found glitches in some songs, incorrect tracking on disc 2 (beginning of purr snickety is at the end of the track for french movie theme), and a different pitch for frail and bedazzled.
also, the sp.com bonus tracks (download of the tracks on the tape) are tracked incorrectly, with a couple of seconds of two songs being repeated at the end of the previous song.another big complaint is that high fidelity 24/96 tracks were promised and sold (preordered), but never made available. apparently, the highest available quality is now 24/44.1, as this is the quality of the \"source audio\" topspin received from the band.
i haven’t checked what happened since, but it seemed like it’s impossible to get a refund from topspin. so some people are quite upset with this.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori was thinking the same thing: there now is an EU pressing because the previous reissues did well enough.
and yes, there’s a european vinyl release of pisces too.weird that you can’t find it in shops in the US. another mess up? (they messed up the availability.)
or do you think there’s something seriously wrong that they want to fix, and they recalled all cds where possible?the cassette is available in all deluxe editions. (this was never unclear to me.)
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorbut, if you personally think it irrelevant, just ignore it. no?[/quote:2nkjgnwo]
of course.as for the quick fix idea, no, there was no time for that. (my own opinion: i don’t think anyone was aware of this problem until we all got the EU copies and starting to dig in). i haven’t listened to the US bonus disc yet, as i’m currently watching the DVD. amazing footage here. completely mindblowing.
good theory though bram, but i just don’t know the answer. i just see it as another fuck up, honestly.[/quote:2nkjgnwo]
i also think there wasn’t enough time to make a new disc 1.
very weird they messed up the artwork though.i also went straight to the dvd.
nothing and everything!
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoryeah, i’m holding the US boxset right now. once again, from topspin, they slapped a unique barcode over the other barcode. i’m curious if the US pressing has all these flaws everyone has been bitching about?[/quote:12tk9k0f]
When ordered online through Top Spin Media, a unique barcode was created to track the release. The US edition of this release is slightly different than its EU counterpart, as the first disc is orange (instead of blue). The word ‘one’ does not appear on the first disc, and the release codes do not match (sleeve to CD).[/quote:12tk9k0f]
i don’t think these barcodes added by different companies are relevant.when i bought my copies of the pisces reissue at this big chain of music-dvd-electronics stores, they had also added their own barcode. when you buy stuff off eil.com, it will also have an eil.com barcode, used to process things internally. it’s what happens. but in my opinion, it’s not really related to the release itself, and none of these barcodes, unique or not, are relevant to the spfreaks collection.
about the different cd in the US box set: do you think they quickly fixed the plume problem and replaced the first disc? or what would have happened?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorsomeone gave me the ifpi codes of the US pisces iscariot deluxe edition, and this time, the cds were pressed in the usa.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorcheck out the little sticker on the back cover insert: \"packaged in usa, disc(s) mexico\"
http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?pa … item=12319
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorall US releases of the gish and siamese dream reissues, including the worldwide releases of the deluxe edition box sets were pressed in mexico.
and don’t worry, it is on spfreaks.com. for example: http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?pa … &item=3574
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorhaha, yes. exactly what i was wondering. \"mike: back to mac! a great new direction!\"
or maybe he means that the band will continue to exist without billy (without \"BC as a frontman\"), and that that would be great for them.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori wish he would just call it a day with SP and go full blown solo. he’d get the same amount of press/attention. if he really wants to break down walls, dismantle SP for good. that would be unexpected and a great new direction for the band as well.[/quote:31r76ij6]
sounds to me like your prediction is not really a prediction, but more wishful thinking.also, how is billy going "full blown solo" "a great new direction for the band"?
hahaha!
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatora style with which i don’t have much connection to.[/quote:2on7rypz]
same here. i don’t like the new album. not my cup of tea.
some songs are ok, and some bits of songs are nice, but that’s it to me.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorUS release of the box set confirmed by two people on sp.com.
would that be it for the box sets; US + EU? i’d think so.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorcoolio. thanks.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorso far, we could’ve done the entire thread in dutch.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori listened to my cd, and they used a different vocal take on plume. at least on some parts of the song. it’s very obvious. it sounds unfamiliar. weird.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorhave you guys compared plume to the original release?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatora similar thing happens on netphoria, when there’s a thread with a lot of muted posts. (members can be muted. this means their posts are invisible.)
when you try to open the last page, say number 70, but because of the muted posts, there are only 68 pages of posts left, then you can’t see page 70. (however, when calculating the total amount of pages in a thread, muted posts aren’t taken into account. which basically causes the problem.)
but instead of getting an error message, you get redirected to the last available page. in my example, this is page 68.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorwhat a weird bug.
i see it’s \"fixed\" now. good.
but what caused it? and won’t it come back once we get close to reaching page 104?maybe it’s time to close that thread and start over with a fresh one.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorthanks, arthur!
(this thread is broken for me. it tries to open page 103, but then it says there’s no such thread.)
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori’ve got three pisces iscariot reissues today: the standard and the deluxe edition on cd, and a copy on vinyl.
i’m mostly interested in the pulse cable show. so that’s what i’m watching now.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatortwo different vinyl pressings? is this confirmed?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori believe that’s correct: it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s a promo.
i personally make a big difference between proper promo releases (not identical to the commercial release), and normal releases that have been given out as a promo, for example with the barcode or the cd case punched, or with a promo sticker slapped on.
i find the proper promo releases way more interesting. -
