    Siamese Dream black vinyl

beware! that’s not a "rare original 1993 vinyl" as the description says. as far as i know, the black vinyl caroline release is the most recent pressing of siamese dream, and only a couple of years old. this one is the easiest to find.

don’t confuse this one with the black vinyl hut release.

what’s the primary language of Belgium? for some reason i thought it was French.[/quote:2yzhiewz]
both dutch and french. dutch is spoken by 60% of the population. french by 40%. we also have a couple of thousands of people who speak german. they’re a minority, but german is one of the three official languages of our tiny country. Let it also be known that my French isn’t perfect. My first language is Dutch, a beautiful language I share with Arthur.

Good thing that the \"unspoken agreement\" got written out for once. So it’s basically the first person who finds something on eBay and calls it that can bid on it? That doesn’t seem right to me.

I feel more for Thom’s approach: tell each other how high you’re going to bid and then only the person with the highest bid actually bids. This way you’re not unnecessarily pushing the price up for each other.

(I didn’t know about this rule, so I never \"called\" items on here, but usually when that happens it’s about items I’m already following in My eBay. Does this mean I found it first?)

(The problem with the gentlemen’s agreement Arthur proposed is that it’s based on who found or called it first. It’s not pleasant to let an item for someone, only to find out afterwards they got outbid for a price that is way lower than what you were going to bid. This way everyone loses, but it could have been avoided.)

I’ve done this who-is-going-to-bid-the-highest thing before, and that worked all right. But it’s a lot of effort to do this for every rarity you want to bid on, and in 90% of the cases, it doesn’t even matter: it’s only useful if you and the person you have an agreement with would be the two highest bidders. As soon as someone else shows up and bids high, this person is usually deciding the price.

    I bet these sound horrible.

The first one I have seen before. If I’m not mistaken, it was also a seller from Japan.

Today I feel like I learned a lesson on here. It’s not the first time that someone announced that they were going for an item on eBay, and that I found out afterwards that I would have bid a lot higher (and would have won the item if I had placed my bid).

This time I was simply too late to even participate, and another time the item got pulled from eBay for example, but that doesn’t matter. I always feel like I’m not really allowed to bid on these kind of \"announced\" auctions. That bidding would make me some kind of cheater.
From now on, I’m going to ignore all similar announcements and let the eBay mechanism work the way it works. If I want to bid, I will. One day you win, another day you lose.

I’m not really sad or mad about any past auctions though. It’s only greed and materialism. For things you don’t need at all. So I’m placing those very low on my priority list. And the idea that someone else got something I’d really want for a good price also makes me happy in a way. It’s weird, but that’s how it is. I’m usually on the buyer’s side, so I empathise.

in reply to: What is the latest Pumpkins related item you bought? #6466

Dammit. This means I would have won it if I had placed a bid. But I came home from work later than usual and I checked eBay too late. I had forgotten about this auction.

    This makes me sad. :(

in reply to: Do you see this video ? #28364

I doubt this will be cut out on the livesp.com release.

And I agree, Billy’s remark was rather bad. I also don’t think this was set up. If it was, Billy would have prepared a better comeback. This was pure improvisation. \"Let’s invite this yeller on stage and see what happens.\" Easy for Billy, because no matter what he says, he knows the audience will cheer. That’s what an audience does.

the Canadian Try, Try, Try Summersault 2000 promo on eBay.

    Please stay away ok…[/quote:2x1vb1mz]
wow, looks like you won it, for a very reasonable price. congrats!

i would have bid (higher than what it went for), but i just missed it. oh well, it’s better this way. i’d probably only have pushed the price up for you.

Yeah, they all come with a booklet.

    Even the fakes, haha.

in reply to: Grey Tristessa #22477

also, a \"buy-it-now for $5000 or best offer\" is probably going to give him higher offers than \"buy-it-now for $750 or best offer\".

it’s not impossible that some people who would think the $750 is way too high in the second case, would make an offer higher than that in the first case.

I don’t think this is the case here. It looks like a commercial release.
