menudo is this mexican? boy band that rotates out members. they’ve been active for a long time, ricki martin was a member.[/quote:3lah646c]

I remember seeing some songs of theirs wayyy back in the 80’s – but New Edition were bigger 8)
But SP are a rock band, not a boy band – and I have a feeling Billy is continually trying to change the ‘norm’ of what people would expect from a rock band. Unfortunately that doesn’t sit well with a lot of fans – but Billy don’t care!

Good. I think at least a dozen Smashing Pumpkins rarities took the ‘US stopover’ route to me. :P

The most stupid thing, and that was rather recent also, was an eBay seller from Japan that ships to US, Canada, few other places, and also to a few countries in the EU, which were Germany and UK if I remember well. But NOT TO HOLLAND. Yeah right. F*ck you, not buying anything from you, assh*le. Not even by the ‘US stopover’ route. Never.[/quote:1d2h3uec]

Maybe he had bad experiences shipping stuff there. The only thing I know, is that it seems to take a lot longer for parcels to ship to/from there, it shouldn’t stop him from sending though!

Damn I thought it was something extra – and you probably have to live in Japan too

Even if he says that, I can’t see it being the Smashing Pumpkins without Billy, really. If he’s going to be in the background, then he may as well write songs for any band.

I really hope it’s a SPfreak who wins the Oceania test press being given away by AMIJukeboxes :D[/quote:3ukjetkd]

Note that the SPfreak who wins this has to be residing in North America in order to be eligible.[/quote:3ukjetkd]

or just do your own thing and have it shipped to someone in US.[/quote:3ukjetkd]

Don’t get too excited, it’s just the CD. I don’t think I’ll get the vinyl, spending my $$ on the PI reissue for now 8)

^^ I guess you learned your lesson right? I’m glad that did it for you, some people come out of prison and make the same mistakes again.

so, to rein it in just a bit, how have you changed in your life? was it forced? when did you realize? do you generally resist change? is that part of human nature? etc…[/quote:wkhlrw44]

I don’t think I’ve had any major change to go through, aside from when I moved out of my parents place at 24, which was to the other side of the world, so I had to adapt to a different country, look after myself and be responsible for my actions all at the same time. It’s times when I’ve put myself out of my comfort zone that I’ve ‘grown’ as a person, and learnt what I can and can’t handle.

I think most people do resist change, especially if it’s something they are uncomfortable with. It’s only when they realise the change will actually benefit them or they’ll be better off, that they change.

It’s still available on Soundcloud – for those who haven’t heard it yet. And to send to those friends who say ‘Smashing Pumpkins? They’re still around?’

cool song – it sounds similar to Mutemath or Paper Route, but more ‘Britpop’ – like Blur or something.

He was against the other one because it was the Q101 copy, right?
Since this one is a gift, and can be resold legally, I don’t think he should be against it.
Or maybe he will. That’s a ridiculous amount of money for a vinyl record.

I never liked it much because I don’t like the studio version, but then a few months ago I heard the live version from the ‘final’ Metro show…and decided I like it live better 8)

there’s a house upon the hill
    hidden amongst the trees
where I went to share my soul
and let my mind dance in the breeze

we went to see the stars
and shared our joys and pain
    one moment to last forever
    memories that return again

but as soon as I walked out
you shut the door on me
    drawing all the curtains
and you threw away my key

    so now I wander far
    with many paths to take
    lessons learned in guidance
    with reasons to stay awake

    and clutched within my hand
    I hold another key
    not one that opens doors
but one that sets me free
