marigoldSpectatorWent to see this movie:
I was cringing at the music (from 1:00 in the trailer) – almost put me off – but that music isn’t actually in the movie, only at the end credits. I thought it would be all Disney-happy happy joy joy – but it did show a short segment on the environmental problems of over-fishing and pollution.
I am wondering why we got this movie a year after it was released though.
marigoldSpectatorhmm, he revealed that he was going to write it over a year ago, when he was writing his Everything from here to there blog. It seems more official now however, since the media are picking up on it.
and yes, it will be an interesting read no doubt!
marigoldSpectator^^ It does a bit.
But since you can handle an alternative approach to electronic rock, let me introduce another band I like (clip NSFW). [/quote:2ak97ib3]
oh my, yes – NSFW.
hmmm, not sure I like it, but it is interesting.
I listened to some Bjork, Smashing Pumpkins, Muse and Nine Inch Nails tonight.
SP – An Ode to No One (final metro show) – where Billy sings/growls in 2 tones.
marigoldSpectatorI didn’t like the first one, but I like the second one – sounds like it was recorded in a busy kitchen with pots and steam, and fires, and aeroplanes taking off outside.
This is some electro-pop type music from a NZ band that did quite well in the 90’s. I had been looking for their albums for a few months now, and found one of their CDs in a 2nd hand store the other day.

marigoldSpectatorwow, that is pretty cool, don’t know many musicians who would do that!
and yeah I like the music.
marigoldSpectatorcool – found their myspace page
marigoldSpectatorI like the intro to this:

although I wouldn’t have put Zero or Tarantula in there, maybe BWBW and United States.
marigoldSpectatorThere’s more details of the reissues in this article:
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ … s-20110505
so, with each reissue, there will be a bonus disc of previously unreleased material.
Will there be previously unheard songs?
I’ve gone on some message boards to see what fans are saying, and they think they’ve heard everything and they haven’t. There’s a lot of stuff we have that no one’s ever heard.[/quote:dok3xsa9]I wonder if he checked spfreaks!
marigoldSpectatorThat’s a toy gun, silly!
And I had to laugh at the Pearl Jam pic, look at the silly texts on the wall…[/quote:bvad78d6]
yeah… did PJ realise what they were standing in front of?
and it may be a toy gun but I am pretty sure if the picture had been on the cover of a magazine at that time, it would have been a BIT controversial…
I guess that is why these photos weren’t seen around that time?
marigoldSpectatorcool

I quite like where the song changes and he sings ‘Oh California, look what you’ve done to me, Oh Chicago, I’m coming home to you’

So I think that pretty much covers it. I’m sure I forgot something. Can you think of anything I forgot? No? No, that’s it. [/quote:hwp0qzna]
He didn’t mention the Chicago songs project. I hope that’s still on his plan for this year.
marigoldSpectatorOur newest team member Debby wrote a news item about this, I put some pics to it, and the frontpage is updated. Thanks Debby!
[/quote:20dj5wls]
Thanks Arthur! And glad you could get that up on the front page a lot quicker than me!
And uhhmm, I guess that means you approve, Derek.
