NachtkabarettSpectatorYou’ve seen self portraits as the author of 120 Days of Sodom, and punk icons like Sid Vicious surrounded by a blood border of Hebrew invocations?
Pray tell; where?
I’d love to further explore that scene.
NachtkabarettSpectatorFour or five years ago I COULD have translated this. And I would have happily been obliged to do so.
Now my French is far too rough.
I hope someone can rise to the occasion though.
NachtkabarettSpectatorUnsettling thoughts come to me late at night.
NachtkabarettSpectatorI haven’t been impressed with an article from that site for over a month now.
Maybe it’s just me though. I’m just not fascinated by how many times an album was released, transcriptions of radio shows, how to operate a website, or whether or not the security was comprised of assholes.
I certainly wouldn’t pay for that type of information. But I suppose there must be a demand for it, otherwise they wouldn’t have a job, right?
I’m sure some of my criticism is just misplaced envy. I’d love to write for the site. Unfortunately, I was paying no attention to the site when the contest was occurring, as I was in the final stages of finishing up the website.
PMM mentioned on Hipsters United the possibility of recruiting additional writers, and I’ve put in my formal request weeks ago, so I suppose I’ve done all I can for now.
NachtkabarettSpectatorPrint’s are available for sale from the main site
I only have one print at the moment, of Borgia.
Nick’s going to do a new piece for me, should/whenever I finish my novel.
NachtkabarettSpectatorIf I had money, I’d buy a lot of your friend’s work >.<
NachtkabarettSpectatorAhh…what else is art for, if not provoking thought, discussion, and unsettling the people?

Lots of good stuff.
I got bored last night; hence why I put this up in the first place.
Glad you like it though
NachtkabarettSpectatorWHY DO YOU WORK IN PENCIL?
All of my drawings are done completely in graphite drawing pencil, of various shades and softness. Part of what I’m interested in is creating with pencil what many artists seek to create with paints. The black skies and shadows within my pieces are in fact done completely in pencil, not charcoals or any other tool.
It was never necessarily a contrived or pre intentioned decision to use only pencil but moreso it was a medium which I had honed for years and decided to continue with. Most accomplished pieces are done as paintings while many choose not to pursue use of pencil beyond sketch or illustration purposes so my use of pencil in very large conceptual pieces I felt was something a bit unorthodox and a medium which I wanted to pursue and take to another level beyond the extent of most artists’ use of pencil.
WHOSE BLOOD DO YOU PAINT IN & WHY?
The first time I had ever incorporated blood into a drawing was a self portrait concept I chose for class in 1998 in which the blood was intended to represent stigmata wounds. At the time I didn’t know that I had actually hit on something as interesting and unique as it was soon to turn into but the original methodology was that blood was the most personal and symbolic medium one could possibly work with, as it literally comes from the self and literally from the heart. When I began to delve deeper and into much more personal expression with my art it was a medium which followed through and into present day. The blood used is completely my own as that fact is integral to its very use, aside from my latest piece L’Age Noir where the menstrual blood of my fiancee was used with a mixture of my own as symbolic my love for her and the themes within. But as art is an expression of the self the use of blood in my works is to meld the abstract and physical together, a personal / literal insertion, which is intended to resonate through the finished piece even if subconsciously.
Blood is about as personal as one can get, folks.

NachtkabarettSpectatorI think it is possible to incorporate on a day to day basis, but I would never say that it is easy.
Personally, I’ve always struggled with the fact that I love humans, yet loathe humanity.
NachtkabarettSpectatorAwww, Iridesce, you’re here too? Come back already from your trip; I’m getting bored with no one to talk to
As for the image Arthur posted, I’ll eventually cover it at The NACHTKABARETT, don’t worry
That image in question is primarily a combination of several rather significant alchemical seals that I’m familiar with. The majority of the green seals are Enochian magic; invocations of the Angels. As for the side of the image composed of the number thirty-three: 33, like 333, 666, 777, and 999 is a highly spiritual number – all of the numbers in question are important largely due to their numerological implications, and for their prevalence in the magickal communities (777 and Crowley for example, to which Iridesce already extrapolated on).
Gah…close to 100 pages of material on Nachtkabarett/SmashingPumpkins and I still haven’t even begun to scratch the surface. Talk about a daunting project!
NachtkabarettSpectatorHair’s expendable.
Get crazy with it. See what happens.
Worst comes to worst, just sport the Billy look. I’ve done it a few times :p
Hair grows back, ha.
NachtkabarettSpectatorAwww…thankies
NachtkabarettSpectatorI think you could do pink without an issue
NachtkabarettSpectatorit looked totally cool on the girl who had it. my hair needs a touch up now, but i don’t think anyone around here would be able to do that color.
how did you get yours silver?[/quote:16l2ukg7]
Professionally done. Most expensive one-time hair expense of my life :/
My hair was bleached, and then it was two tone dyed black and deep purple. After that it was highlighted a dark grey, and then the grey was brightly highlighted by silver :O
…probably the reason I’m a cheap, $12 chocolate brown right now :p
PS: Any pictures of you, so we can see what hair you’re working with?
NachtkabarettSpectatori like that ball of light, it is a neat effect, even if you didn’t mean for it to happen.
i would like silvery pink hair, like the evil girl in the forbiden kingdom. but i don’t know if it would look good on me.[/quote:1jy2yr8w]
Never know unless you try
A silver pink hybrid eh? Hell, I may even give that a try sometime

NachtkabarettSpectatorHaha…really?
Well, The Nachtkabarett does have a few paintings or images up (in Manson’s section) which are of a suggestive, or sexual nature, like the Beardsley illustrations or a couple paintings.
Try again on a non-prudish computer? :p
NachtkabarettSpectatorYeah…the light is some sort of fuck up. It’s not a digital lens flare or anything. Probably just some form of glare.
And yes, that is indeed black and silver.
I’ve been every color of the rainbow, apart from 100% silver (only had silver highlights)…so maybe that’s my next choice. Seemed to work well for the fellows in Rammstein
NachtkabarettSpectatorNick seems to prefer this photo of me:

NachtkabarettSpectatorSo yeah…yesterday I decide I’d give myself the day off, on account of the update going off.
Most boring day of my life.
I think I’m meant to chisel away at this, piece by piece, day by day.
NachtkabarettSpectatorhaha…

Coming in less than a month since the initial launch, the first update of Shattering Fast Alchemical Glass presents a wealth of new information.
Making its debut in the Videos section are two new additions: , both of which focus on the cryptic flash animations of the official website that existed during the Machina era. This archival material has been rehosted for your viewing pleasure. Furthermore, the alchemical and occult symbols therein are gradually being analyzed and will continue to grow with each subsequent update.
Also, new to the Glass & the Machines of God section is ; a series of articles pertaining to the subtler allusions of alchemy evoked by the band. For this launch, I explore the double meaning behind Satur9/Saturnine, Dross, and Heavy Metal Machine. In addition, Jimmy Chamberlin is put under the spotlight in two new articles surrounding tattoos of his which were inked during the Machina Era: the ouroboros bearing a symbol of mercury, and the Egyptian God of the Dead, Anubis.
I’d like to reiterate my sincerest thanks to The Smashing Pumpkins community for your overwhelming support of this project. Your interest and feedback further serves to fuel my drive.
A surprise announcement will be made shortly after the launch of the O-Board (the official smashingpumpkins.com forums), which will involve direct fan feedback, so keep an eye out for that.
It’s difficult to say what the next update will entail, but on my immediate radar are articles about the \"final\" Cabaret Metro show of 2000, as well as the status & re-emergence of Glass in a post Machina era. Expect a host of other treats as well.
Love & Venom,
Brad

NachtkabarettSpectatorThe amusing thing about all this Della, is that I’d take your writing over a couple members of the paid writers, without a doubt.
You’ve got a lot of heart and passion, and it seems to bleed through what you wrote.
Thanks for sharing
PS: The sharpie moment…oh my God. Not only is it like that South Park moment, but it’s also like The Simpsons, when Homer and Apu went to that 1st Quickie-Mart, far in the isolated mountains to speak to the guru, and Homer wasted all three of their questions by asking \"Are you really the head of the quickie mart?\"; \"Really?\"; \"Really?\" or something to that effect, thereby blowing it for the both of them
Hehe.

NachtkabarettSpectatorWell, there is a NIN category:
http://www.nachtkabarett.com/nin
Nick started NIN. I haven’t done anything for that (yet). He’s a far bigger fan than I am. It too, like everything else on the NK, gradually gets expanded over time.
Anyways, as for the video section goes, it’ll have articles on all the Machina official videos (The Everlasting Gaze, Stand Inside Your Love, & Try, Try, Try; but it’ll also likely house a bunch of ‘egg’ flash animations that were around at the time, which were as intricate as the plates, but animated. Whether or not we put that in the videos section or the Glass and the Machines of God section is still up in the air, and will likely be determined when I get to that stage
Video may also possibly house an article about the ‘final’ performence at the Cabaret Metro and Billy’s use of clothing to mirror alchemy. But once again, this may end up in the Glass and the Machines of God section. Dunno. Guess it doesn’t really matter what section it comes out on, so long as it comes out, eh?
