Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoris it possible they’re selling a shirt with the same artwork at the current smashing pumpkins shows?
i believe i’ve seen it on a picture of the merchandise stand.
can anyone confirm?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorhmmm, good point, manilla. i seem to remember that logo now.
strange.does anyone have more pictures of this t-shirt? i remember seeing them a while ago. i guess someone was trying to sell it. did anybody save those pictures? (is there a limited potential logo on the back?)
i can’t seem to find this t-shirt on SPfreaks.2015.06.09 at 12:43 pm in reply to: What is the latest Pumpkins related item you bought? (cont.) #8519784
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI’d also like to see some proper scans, when this is possible.
I’m not saying these are definitely fake. I don’t know.
But I think it’s best we consider the possibility. Just adding every possible release to SPfreaks without asking the right questions, wouldn’t make us proper SPfreaks.2015.06.09 at 8:04 am in reply to: What is the latest Pumpkins related item you bought? (cont.) #8519782
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorWhat do you guys think?

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorDo you think those Adore reissue promos are real?
Didn’t we have a couple of confirmed fake promos for the last couple of reissues?
I find these all suspicious now. This is the kind of release someone could easily make at home. Why would they promote the reissue like this, with a separate promo per disc? That’s a bit odd, isn’t it? “Here, have a promo, it’s disc four of the box set. That should do.”
Wouldn’t it make more sense to have a sampler, or to have the entire box set as one promo release? Also, I see that “17 (Mono)” is listed on the tracklist of the album in mono (disc 2). But if I’m not mistaken, “17” isn’t included on that disc.
Now this could be a simple copy/paste error on the artwork. It could happen in either scenario, real or fake. But it’s suspicious. Especially since someone changed the “17” to “17 (Mono)”.
Can you check though, pcorgan, when the discs arrive, if “disc 2 adore mono” includes “17”? Does it have 16 tracks? If it does, then something’s definitely off.2015.06.03 at 7:47 pm in reply to: What is the latest Pumpkins related item you bought? (cont.) #8519752

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatoromg where did you find that drum?!? that’s pretty cool.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorhahaha
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI’m fairly certain sharing vinyl rips is not legal. We don’t own the rights to spread this music, officially released or not. It doesn’t matter if the music can still be bought somewhere or not.
Several organisations protect the rights of (their) artists, and could take action if they find a link to what they believe is copyright protected music of one of their clients. But would we get in trouble for posting links here? Links to all kinds of SP related music have been posted here before, and I don’t think anything happened then.
The worst that could happen is that SPfreaks gets contacted with the question to remove the links. (More serious steps are normally only taken if the links aren’t removed, or if it keeps happening.)
The decision whether links to your vinyl rips can be posted here is not up to me. For now, I wouldn’t do it.
(But feel free to share your rips with me in private. I’m definitely interested. ;))
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorvery nice!
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI had two tapes transferred: http://spfreaks.com/forums/topic/audio-cassette-transfers/
– nme brat pack (spaceboy acoustic)
– a press conferenceI guess Tristessa 12″ is the main one to go for if you want to transfer a Pumpkins record. As far as I know, there is no digital source (cd, internet) for the original Tristessa recording.
The other vinyl-only tracks from the old days (terrapin, siamese dream, purr snickety, …) have all since been released on cd or as part of that rarities and b-sides collection (now also available in lossless quality).
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorcool!
and yes, let us know what extras you’ve received.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI’ll tell you why not:
If you’re after the sound on vinyl, why would you settle for a bootleg, where you have no idea where this “sound” comes from?
Most of these bootlegs are just an attempt to cash in on the fact that the original record is very rare.
Bootleggers typically don’t really care that much about sound quality. My guess is that they just took the cd, and used that to make the vinyls. (If you use a cd to make a record, you completely lose all the advantages of “sound on vinyl”.)Another option is that they transferred the audio from one of the original records. (And then most likely processed the audio, to clean it up a bit.) This also isn’t very interesting, if you want audio quallity.
It’s always possible that the original vinyl was sourced from a cd, although I find that unlikely. In that case it doesn’t make much of a difference, but the point still stands: you’re not getting the “sound on vinyl”, as it’s cd sourced.
Or maybe the bootleggers got their hands on the original audio, mastered for vinyl, or on the original pressing plates. Once again, unlikely. Who would give it to them?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorYes, I also believe that’s probably a mistake on discogs.com. They probably added the same release twice.
(It’s hard to see where the LP comes from. I can’t find “made in Europe” mentioned anywhere, on first sight. So one could easily assume it’s a US release.)
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorinteresting!
what about the matrix code? what does that say?
according to discogs.com, there’s a US and a EU pressing of this record: http://www.discogs.com/master/view/19820
i never knew that. could that be a mistake? it looks like they listed the same pressing twice.
discogs.com doesn’t mention anoter LP version of the soundtrack.spfreaks entry: http://spfreaks.com/item/lost-highway-5/

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori own that. (not signed.)
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorexcellent!
you’re welcome.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorWhat does that mean, zeroo? Did you get a copy?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori’m also wondering what the country of release is.
i haven’t seen any jewel case monuments cds, but i haven’t seen many monuments cds at all. so it doesn’t necessarily mean a lot.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorFrom Barry Waterman, the label owner:
“Shipping in the US is currently free. That’s actually not generosity, but PayPal screwed up the link and until I get around to fixing everything that’s the way it will stay. Canada and overseas still ship for the posted prices.”
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorman, that tea totally put me off buying that. fucking zuzu’s.
how much do you want for it, jawn?
