manillascissorKeymasterCorrection:
There is no AR Walking Shade 1trk promotional CD. It was just the standard EU version.
manillascissorKeymasterI still have yet to find this single, but I’m confident it’ll turn up somewhere. I ordered that 2trk cardsleeve from a seller in IT, that’s why I listed it as an Italian release in my other thread. However, I won’t know for sure until I get it in the mail.
manillascissorKeymasterI have this boxset. I don’t have the number in front of me, but I’ll check on that shortly.
There’s been much debate over this in the past, whether or not this release is official. I think the final verdict is that it is similar to the Aeroplane Flies Lower boxset. It’s basically an \"official bootleg\". Because it isn’t licensed by Virgin, but yet it contains official Virgin releases. That’s the best I can compare it to. Mine doesn’t have the box with it, just the wooden box set. I saw one of these on eBay this year I believe. It went for over $400. But that cardboard box is kinda rare.
manillascissorKeymasterDoes it say anything about this on http://www.smashingpumpkins.com? Maybe that particular venue has a no recording policy?
manillascissorKeymasterSo is this single rare? Like a deleted item? I’m surprised how little information is available about it.
manillascissorKeymasterCool! It’d be so cool if Hippy Trippy actually surfaced one day.
manillascissorKeymasterYeah, most catchy riffs/tunes bore me after the first week or two. But not this one. I think the QOTSA have enough of an original signature to their work that they can write a \"pop\" album, yet retain the \"underground\", less than mainstream appeal. I know that makes very little sense, but bottom line, this album is GREAT.
manillascissorKeymasterThis was the first show that i was able to go to outside of Toledo. The opening band was Swervedriver. This show rocked, was there anyone else at this one?[/quote:2bcbty8x]
I wasn’t there toad. I was in South Carolina at the time. Quite the haul!

Different from yellow CD on SPFreaks. So, maybe yellow 12 trk DOES exist!!!???
I have one on order, maybe it will arrive soon and I’ll double check.
2007.07.18 at 2:20 am in reply to: For the freakin’ country collectors: Zeitgeist CD by country #2497
manillascissorKeymasterBesides the bonustracks collectors, the Zeitgeist-by-color collectors, there are also collectors that want them ALL. Every country where the CD is produced, every sticker that is different, every obi that is available. Actually I’m 1 of them.
For your collecting pleasure I will try to list here all those different versions. In the end it will be the most comprehensive list of Zeitgeists ever produced, that will even put Wikipedia to shame. Sorry Wikipedia! I still love you!
Confirmed:
Red 12 track version, manufactured in EU, US, AU, TW (+ Taiwan only obi), JP (+ Japan only obi), MY, AR, HK
Yellow 13 track version (aka Best Buy version, with bonustrack Death From Above), manufactured in EU, US
Green 12 track version (aka HMV version, however 101CD sells it also), manufactured in EU
Purple 13 track version (aka Target version, with bonustrack Zeitgeist), manufactured in US
Blue 13 track version (aka iTunes version, with bonustrack Stellar), downloadable in US
Blue 14 track version (aka iTunes version, with bonustracks Stellar & Zeitgeist), downloadable in EU, AU
Unconfirmed:
Yellow 12 track version
Purple 12 track version
Who tracked down more releases? Post it please![/quote:1yjh2y5v]
Hi Arthur
I also am looking for all countries. I haven’t seen these yet, but I SUSPECT that Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and Italy MAY press Zeitgeist versions as well. But again, I haven’t seen anthing to suggest this, other than most of the past releases were released in these countries.
Also, we have to keep in mind the new label. No more Virgin. I guess the Pumpkins hated them in the end, but Virgin could promote the shit out of an album!!!
manillascissorKeymasterI submit, in no particular order:
I Am One 7" TP (3?)
Light Into Dark 12" TP (2?)
Siva/Rhino 7" WLP (no idea)
Daughter flexi-disc (?????)[/quote:2g6ix3aw]
I Am One – rag paper sleeve, only saw one over, remaining two in BCs possession. One in a fan’s collection I believe.
Light into Dark – 3 copies I believe, one seen myself.
Siva/Rhino – more copies than expected at first, there was a time this one could be found in Holland – not easily but it could be done unlike expectations – so I guess a decent amount of these found their way to Holland for some strange reason – then again – I was given 5 copies of a Kylie 7" for Red Blooded Woman of which only 50 promotional copies exist by a venue here in Holland that had these just gathering dust there so these made it to Holland and eventually unto ebay naturally
Daughter – couple of hundred I guess, unsuccesful magazine, hard to find in the mag, loose copies do pop up now and then, very hard to find in a good playable condition and if you have own, the sound quality of a flexi really sucks…[/quote:2g6ix3aw]Yeah, I saw the IAO 7" t/p on eBay maybe 12-13 years ago. Never seen another one since.
I have a Daughter in the mag, never played, I expect the quality blows. But nonetheless, tis cool to own the only official release of the song (minus the demos).

I’ve never really paid close attention to Billy’s lyrics. I just don’t do well in the analysis department, I’m afraid. But what you just posted is pretty incredible, I think. Again, another thing I know little about is the Bible, however, I knew about the 33 connection. That is an obvious clue. Thanks for taking it a step further. I never really thought about the lyrics in that respect.
manillascissorKeymastermy dumbass used to buy bootlegs for $25 so even if thats what is going on I could care less… just think of it as making up for the people who just download the sheeat…
did anyone stop diggin bc when he went all jesus cristo?… I have to admit it turned me off for a long time then I got my head out of my ass and now its all good[/quote:3u4h41y7]I assume you’re referring to Zwan? I never really correlated Zwan to Billy finding Christ. Obviously, the connection is there. I just chose to listen to the music. Whenever I do that, I’m pretty satisfied.
manillascissorKeymasterNew memory… Ive been jamming Doomsday Clock for a couple days in the car, at home, different places. My 15 month old daughter was rocking her head around in the car to it. Yesterday she was in the living room while it was playing, she starts dancing around. So i played some other tunes… no dancing, no grooving. Put Doomsday back on, there she went dancing…SWEET, another generation of SP fan![/quote:3jr1gy02]
Awesome!!!! I have a 13 month old and she headbangs as well. To anything. It’s the best.
manillascissorKeymasterWill i get beat up for talking about how I think the song 33 from MCIS is about Jesus talking before his deatj the way U2’s Until the End of the World is about Judas talking to Jesus in the afterlife?
lol.
On smashingpumpkins.com I know I would be brutalized.[/quote:1dxnaong]
Bring it!! I’ll listen…
2007.07.10 at 11:30 pm in reply to: rarities & b-sides (download only) is that a sp \"release\"? #2193
manillascissorKeymasterHey Orchid
I have that promotional single you’re referencing… Because Virgin made a promotional CD for it, I’d consider it an actual release. Isn’t there a date on the CD promo? Like a release date? Anyway, I’ve also seen on eBay posters for it. Virgin promotional posters. So, yes, I consider it an official release, although, it’s digital. Makes you wonder how do you buy a legitimate copy?[/quote:r25njk0i]
cool manilla! kinda rare promo i guess? and i think it’s a genuine release also, but why isn’t it on the discography? i mean, even spfreaks doesnt have it (while spfc has it if i’m right), and the pumpkins dont have it either on their website?[/quote:r25njk0i]I don’t know. Guess it falls into some sort of gray area. It’s a digital release. It’s kind of weird. The Smashing Pumpkins did it again though. They released Zeitgeist (blue edition …. oooooooo…) on ITunes. Also an Australian ITunes edition w/ two bonus tracks. I don’t get it. But, I really think they should somehow be classified as official releases.
manillascissorKeymasterCheck it out people, you can find the pics and information here:
http://www.spfreaks.com/?page=COLLDETAILS&item=1635
Tip: buy it, it’s a wonderful release. Probably worth a bit more after a few years, see what happened to The Aeroplane Flies High box set. I’m glad I pre-ordered my copy, now I see it and hold it.[/quote:177hia65]
Just got mine today Arthur. Odd thing I noticed:
They thank Paris Hilton in the liner notes for "keeping the faith". LOL. What?
manillascissorKeymasterBilly for Prez?
No thanks. Rock GOD will suffice for now.
manillascissorKeymasterpurr snickety , obscured , and my mistake[/quote:3rdaouyl]
My Mistake! Good call!
manillascissorKeymastersorry, missed it. how was it guys? what song(s) did the pumpkins do? think of it by the way, i mean live earth is something, but late show is all over the us, in which states isn’t it? they got attention! [/quote:341fy6ds]
Sorry you missed it Orchid!
They performed Tarantula (big surprise). It came across pretty routine, Billy seemed a little shitty on the vocals at first, but then looked like he gained composure and came through. Personally, my heart was just racing seeing SMASHING PUMPKINS on tv again. Totally new material, on Letterman. Just like old times. Took the song to a whole new level. Billy was san-dress, but wearing the leather jumpsuit outfit.
Also, no call-over to the couch. I remember (somewhere in the gossamer cobwebs of my memory) that Billy mentioned not wanting much press or doing many interviews for this album. Maybe he requested this? Not sure. Will be interesting to see what Friday holds in store.
manillascissorKeymasterway, way, way before zeitgiest was being written, when billy first mentioned his plans to reform pumpkins, he said (something along the lines of) "i want my band back, i want my songs back"
so it was for pumpkins, not zeitgeist[/quote:3b19pjn6]Good use of a reference to back up your stance. Most people don’t do that.
From reviewing the CD liner notes (just today, 7/10/07), it’s clear to me that Smashing Pumpkins from now on is Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlain. They even put in there, BC/JC in the AC/DC font. Ginger and Jeff are not credited w/ writing material. I guess they were hired solely for touring purposes. Which sucks for them, but I guess it’s a great opportunity as well.
However, superlord, there is no indication that Billy hadn’t written some of these songs prior to taking out that ad. There is no way to know, unless we ask Mr. Corgan himself. Chicken or the egg?
manillascissorKeymasterI’ll be up watching tonight (7/9/07), hope y’all are too! Will make for a sleepy day tomorrow, but should be worth it.[/quote:2h2tzokf]
TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!
manillascissorKeymasterI’ll be 28 soon!
2007.07.07 at 9:12 pm in reply to: rarities & b-sides (download only) is that a sp \"release\"? #2187
manillascissorKeymasterhi again. yesterday i was searching for bullet train and came across the rarities and b-sides download. i checked here and there and its offered on a few websites, for extremely different prices. but when i checked if this is a real sp release, i couldnt find it, only on spfc. its not on here, and not even the pumpkins website puts it in their discography! but on here i found the promo cd http://www.spfreaks.com/Default.aspx?pa … &item=3155 , so it looks like its not fake anyway?[/quote:1v21m4vs]

manillascissorKeymasterHi Arthur
Nice to meet you. Just want to thank you for making this forum. It’s pretty cool. But what’s better than the forum? Well, in my opinion, the collection part of SPfreaks. I love the comprehensiveness and the photos. Keep up the good work. I can’t wait to see some new releases! -
