AnonymousSpectatorSentimental tone on:
I became a Backseat Fan of SP for the most part after Jimmy C. was no longer in the band, much prefering him in there and the ‘good old days.’
I’d given up hope of ever having all the original members’ autographs; not only Billy C.’s.
Due to a very special person who kindly shared one of her prized possessions with me, I’m really happy to own the set on a Gish vinyl.
This item pretty much ends a part of history for me, sealing it forever with irreplaceable memories.
For this to me was something no amount of money could ever buy:
AnonymousSpectatorSong For A Song – 6/10
Widow Wake My Mind – 3/10
Stitch In Time – 7/10
Astral Planes – 8/10.
AnonymousSpectatorI didn’t know Billy slept with Kurt and Courtney.
AnonymousSpectatorApparently my Auf der Maur ‘OOOM’ CD & DVD have been despatched from the US.

AnonymousSpectatorA great story for sure, Sven.
AnonymousSpectatorGrateful for every day
yet selfishly not sure
whether tomorrow really matters
or not any more
some of the sweetest things
taste so bitter
sweet
bitter
sweet and bitter
grateful for every day
A soft hand reaches out
you can’t quite reach it
a blade slices down
to cut cut cut
kill off that chance
comfort in pain
tomorrow we do it
over again
Grateful for every day
poor or pay
so little to say
another new day
whatever to say
Loved to the core
held oh so tight
it’s never enough
to challenge life’s fight
yet around the sphere turns
turn baby turn
around it shall turn
the burn
Grateful for every day2010.04.22 at 10:11 pm in reply to: List time: owners of US Machina II Virgin in-house promo cds #41466
AnonymousSpectatorThere’s also a silver discs Boot version. I myself didn’t see many of those around, I’m guessing they’d not have sold too well; or produced many copies (?):
AnonymousSpectator^ Good stuff.
I had to cut corners, so opted for the Crescent OOOM (without vinyls). Loving the album though, which is goody good.
AnonymousSpectatorOh here another
reminder
past presenting
future?
Am I wrong?
Am I right?
Did I lose?
Or just change?
Is change ok?
Who knows the answer?
don’t know if I do
suck it up
selfishness
bringing life
lost me
or am I the real me?
Who am I really?
I have a name
and many thoughts
Wrong am I there?
Right am I here
but am I wrong?
living
believing
doing for me
feeling torn
AnonymousSpectatoryes funny looking
how are marshmallows made?
AnonymousSpectator
I like the whole thing so far
AnonymousSpectatoryes my comments are late
I’m with Arthur on this one regarding TbK
My thought Billy is working the publicity and getting people to talk. Negative press is better than no press at all in his mind.
I actually laughed at the RS article!
AnonymousSpectatorthis looks so much better now
AnonymousSpectatorAre you allowed to share the pictures too?[/quote:1g3woaf0]
I guess so, they are being send to Sven. He’s doing a long article about this stuff, remember? I’ve only seen them on webcam so far. And I was very eager to bring the music out there!Swish work guys, some of the tracks are actually really good.
[/quote:1g3woaf0]
Agree. I was astonished to see and feel the link between this and the Marked. To see the development of Billy from a young dude playing bass (already working on long epic songs!) to him in the Smashing Pumpkins.Actually this band is called teh Flat Bodies.
Some side exerimental band. Recorded with good material[/quote:1g3woaf0]
Yeah I noticed that too. If I put all the info in order, Billy was not involved with that anymore, he had moved on already. As far as Jerome remembered, Billy played at least on all songs from Dance V1 to Ancient Times. With every bandmember leaving, they changed the name of the band. So they were called The Marinetti’s, The Flat Bodies, but also The Wedding, Pand 585 and Frozen Fountain. Those other bands made tapes also, but of course we were mostly interested in this tape with Billy playing/practising/recording with this band. At that time they were called Remove That Bible (kinda ironic, when you think of it, for a bandname with Billy being a member => must be the reason why Billy never wants to talk about it?)[/quote:1g3woaf0]
One of the things I like is that had you not mentioned Mr C., after a few tracks ye think: Sounds like The Marked.
Thanks again.
AnonymousSpectatorSwish work guys, some of the tracks are actually really good.
AnonymousSpectatorBetter picture/s here on this eBay pre-order auction:
AnonymousSpectatorOther examples in my experience: A signed-for package was posted through my door last year sometime. How was it signed for, when I was in the US at the time? Obviously I was really happy it arrived, but supposing it was left outside… That way the Post Office would think it’s delivered, yet anybody could have walked off with it. Turns out that the Mail fella signed it for me! Nice, yet not really legal, etc.
A German friend of mine here was recently sent computer parts from Germany (who’d a thought it!). Inside were also -three- small tins of Sauerkraut, two arrived… Customs had opened that, so maybe they were hungry?
My biggest whinge was when another friend mailed me IAGWrong and some Oreos for Xmas 2008. Never arrived. The only change I noticed was Temp Xmas workers were delivering around that time… Most Postal workers are good people I’m sure – it’s a big responsibility though and not everybody’s loyal ‘n trustworthy.
One item here and there, okay… More than one? Hmmm.
I hope your stuff’s just sitting in Customs, they’re not bothered whether you’re waiting or not.
Stfu Dazey, geez.
AnonymousSpectatorAssuming you haven’t already, Cake, make an official complaint to who runs your postal service/s…[/quote:2vhabtsc]
what good is that going to do? they probably never received those items.
and since it wasn’t sent registered, they’ll throw their hands in the air and claim there’s nothing they can do.[/quote:2vhabtsc]To tie in with other people that might have things ‘missing,’ etc. If they have other people who are complaining, then they’ll have to look into what’s going on. Yeah, they’d say there’s nothing they can do all right, but it might smoke out somebody who’s working for them, you just never know.
I’d say do it to let off some frustration, I have before and they log everything in case people take legal action, stuff like that… Something from original mailing to you has happened and screw that; let them know about it, imho.
As an aside: It always intrigues me that whatever mail option you take, items mostly go through the same people and places. Seems many people think packages have special treatment if they’re Registered… Not necessarily, no.
Ah, enough from me, it’s bringing my bad side out.
I know I’d have to whine big-time about this, anyway.
AnonymousSpectatorSeeing this mail situation’s really pissing me off, the few times I spend Bux I expect (and deserve) to receive items.
Assuming you haven’t already, Cake, make an official complaint to who runs your postal service/s…
Not really likely to cheer you up much currently, but: I spoke to a friend who works for England’s Royal Mail to speak about your post:
She says Customs are able to hold onto things for up to six months sometimes!
Thinking back, The Future Embrace CD I once won on eBay; arrived five months later.
In a worst-case-scenario, if stuff was being outright stolen, then it’d unlikely be just yours. I’d expect several people will have complained.
Hoping something sorts soon for you.
AnonymousSpectatorWe definitely have some Gazillionaires here in this thread (not me!). Good work.
I killed my Bank acct. permanently with a small splurge recently: A few more Catherine items and an ADM autograph (submitted to/for the site earlier today).
SP-wise, I don’t envisage buying much more now, aside from standard mainstream releases… I’m sure I’ve said that before though.
I also grabbed a few things from our friend JamesIha in Sweden, the last item arrived to me this morning.
Now, I have the new ADM release to try saving up for – the shipping will probably be horrendous.
AnonymousSpectatorIt’s time.
AnonymousSpectatorDue to the hightened security lately and such, it could just be they’re sitting in Customs. Sometimes, if you have several packages due at any one time, they see the pattern and take a batch looksie.
I’d often been advised to steer clear of Spanish transactions entirely, unless the item’s mailed in something that looks Business-related. The same for France, as I’d lost items from both Countries. That said, French items from eBay (for example) are usually sent ‘signed for’ now; judging by friend’s experiences.
Over the years, I’ve ‘lost’ items from the USA also, yet never (yet) Australia, Canada or Japan.
Sure, sometimes there’s a rogue on the loose stealing what they can, but people I know in the Postal trades say they’re exceptionally strict in this way now.
I hope they arrive for you soon Cake, it’s a crappy feeling to trust the mail system 100% – like we have any real choice.
AnonymousSpectatorthe seller posted my question. i was trying to break the rules. bring on the hate.[/quote:exrtv3xo]
Out of curiosity, did you recently ‘acquire’ one of these?
AnonymousSpectatorGood ‘ol SP are my musical crutch for whatever, whenever… I’ve finally found another band to help keep me ‘multi-banded,’ The Dandy Warhols.
AnonymousSpectatorGood works.
Who will be the first here to own a Machina II vinyl?
