My parents would NEVER do such thing. Instead they phone me when I was in Germany last weekend, to tell me there was a broadcast on Dutch tv later that night with a few tracks of the Pinkpop Festival last year. They ask me if they should record it for me… is that sweet or what?

I asked them to record it, as so far (to my knowledge) nothing of this festival was ever broadcast.

how fast is that in miles? i bet it was a little scary in your little cute car.[/quote:34s7xw4k]
That is around 140 mph if I’m right. Not really that fast (I’ve done way faster in an Audi A8 ), but scary anyway.

Yeah sorry I meant rpm meter on the left… Silly me. At some point we even hit the 205 km/h. It is allowed in Germany, by no means in The Netherlands. I would lose my drivers license for life if they catch me doing that speed here.

Geezz, I had no idea… I’m so innocent, and you are sexually obsessed! :P

And when will you notice that my car is almost falling apart? Going 200 km/h, with the speedometer in red?

To honor the hard work of mr.benway I created a new category on SPfreaks.com called Tour Books (do you agree on that name?) and I’m putting these pics in there as we speak. Give me a few more minutes, it’s a bit of work…

this IS the acetate… (the one in the top post and as such thus the one Arthur quotes up on SPFreaks)
all delabel promo’s from this era are cdr/acetates, aren’t they?[/quote:2bymsuhk]
Yeah somehow, but there are 2 different types Sven. A rather common type, which we just call a promo:

    http://www.spfreaks.com/Default.aspx?pa … LS&item=41 (the one on eBay)

And a bit more rare type which we call an acetate promo:

    http://www.spfreaks.com/Default.aspx?pa … LS&item=40

The difference between these 2 are very obvious. The first 2CD set is packed in an artfully cardsleeve, they paid more attention to the cds itself and overall, it’s a promo that a label would be proudly sending around. The other one is just a CD-R set with a sticker slapped on it (which they indeed did more often at Delabel around those years) and the artwork: what artwork? Piece of b/w paper in a plastic sleeve… Very rare though.

manillascissor is referring to this one:

I’ve seen that twice, and bought them both times. The highest price I paid was 75 Euro, while it’s more rare as the standard French promo for Greatest Hits that Bryan shows us.

Arthur, what do you know of the french mellon collie 2 cd delabel promo? I have only ever seen two listed on ebay. You have scans of the item on your website. http://www.spfreaks.com/Default.aspx?pa … &item=1641

Never seen it talked about anywhere else.

I am interested as I own a copy which I won on ebay last year. If you do not have a copy i can give you more info about it.

I thought was onto a winner with this CD as some one paid over $700 for the US acetate promo last year, the french one has to be rarer.

    bryan[/quote:bp7duavz]
Hey Bryan, I wouldn’t be too sure that this MCIS French promo is more rare as the MCIS acetate from the US. I personally own the US acetate set (complete) while indeed 1 cd of that set did 700 bucks on eBay, I remember that too. I was wondering what that complete set would be worth…. 1,400 bucks at least? And my one off MCIS acetates previously owned by Billy Corgan? Even more? No way! I think the world is turning completely crazy when cds bring in more money as vinyl, just my humble opinion. Back to the subject: I have only seen my complete US acetate set, and this 1 cd on eBay. The French promo however was known to me by several people on this big record fair in NL, at least 2 or 3 copies have appeared there, confirmed by sellers that had them in the old days. I’ve seen 1 on eBay too (going for 60-70 UK pounds if I remember well), and you say you’ve seen 2 also, so there are several at least.

If you can fully scan your French MCIS promo copy Bryan, would be nice! The few eBay pics we have now are kinda crappy…
