By the way, why is there only a Japanese edition of Look To The Sky in the database? I would happily scan my copy for the archive![/quote:2hqx1vdb]
Please do, and then click Contact top right on this page to email the scans to us! Thanks man!

One of our new writers (Sarah) is going to post a review of the Chicago show on our WordPress site if I’m right, and rumours told me she met Billy Corgan last night. Should be interesting, I’m sure. Let’s wait for her report.

Meanwhile, meet 3/4 of the current core SPfreaks Team that also went to last nights gig (and met Sarah too I heard!); Debby (New Zealand), Geo and Derek (both US). I wish I could say I took the pic, but I didn’t. I stayed home in The Netherlands, chatted with the guys till they stood front row right before the gig started, went to bed and only today I found this pic on Twitter. Not really a heroic story I’m afraid.

I know why. This was Derek’s place a few hours earlier.

Why did Billy gave away his silver pants? To my humble opinion he should have kept them for the MCIS revisited tour!

I know what you mean. On the other hand, in a timeframe of just over one year we see the Gish reissue, Siamese Dream reissue, Blissed flexi, Oceania, Pisces Iscariot reissue, The Celestials 7\" and a mindblowing Mellon Collie reissue. They have not been really lazy over there!

But yeah, SPRC was established for releasing the rarities. They gave us 6 tracks for free at the end of 2011 (September – December), and then it went silent. Lucky 13 looks like a 1 time advisory board type of thingy to SPRC to me. I wonder if it still exists. They did an inquiry early this year, results were handed over to SPRC/the band/Billy Corgan and then it went silent again after the message above about the Double Door compilation. Which is nice, of course, if it sees the day of light someday. But there is so much more that could/should be released. Like the Library of Congress tapes of Smashing Pumpkins, for example.

No idea what is going on currently, to be honest. If I were to handle such projects, I would at least involve all the fan sites worldwide mentioned on the Community section on SP.com, instead of just one of them. And I would definately communicate more often, also about the delays, when they occur. But for some reason they never asked me, lol!

The last thing we heard is from June 2012 on Crestfallen.com. Obviously it didn’t happen with the Mellon Collie reissue, so let’s put our hopes on the The Aeroplane Flies High reissue. :?

Billy Corgan tells Crestfallen.com new details about the upcoming Mellon Collie & Aeroplane reissues

As we had reported over the weekend Billy had said “[The Mellon Collie reissue] will [have] 3 extra cd’s of music. Aeroplane Flies High probably 2 extra”.

This morning Crestfallen was able to learn more about the upcoming Mellon Collie & Aeroplane reissues in an email with Billy Corgan. In the email, Billy said that they have been working very hard on over 75 unreleased / alt mixes for Mellon Collie. Which of those end up on the final release is still to be seen. In addition, another batch of songs is being set aside for a future SPRC bundle release.

When speaking about the Aeroplane Flies High reissue, he mentioned that he had been listening to the suggestions from fans through the Lucky 13 project and is planning on releasing a compilation of the best tracks from the 1995 Double Door shows. He also mentions the possibility of later releasing the last 2 Double Door shows in full through other channels such as the SPRC.

UPDATE: Billy has just informed Crestfallen that they have located the 2nd show from the 1995 Double Door shows, which means they have two versions of Towers of Rabble. Billy told us that we can expect one of those for sure will make either the mcis or aeroplane box.[/quote:z95h0t47]

I hope you’re not too late, jeroendocter… Maybe you could try Collectspumpkins (Shawn) from the US? He posted about this in the first place and offered to help the overseas collectors. Good luck! And welcome here, btw. :D

Lots more pop up on eBay, most of them way beyond face value. I’ve even seen one asking 100 bucks ‘Buy It Now’. Why am I not surprised… :(

User bosmanad on SP.com forum states this just 10 minutes ago.

Hi, I have an update on this. I live in Minneapolis, and have many contacts at corporate. I was able to get in contact w/ the music team on this.

Only select Target Stores will be getting these, and there will NOT be more of them made. The stores in question will get approx (3) each of all the artists involved. They should be in the Music Section. Though they are supposed to be out Sunday (yesterday), most will probably get put out Tuesday w/ new releases (because the have to re-arrange planograms). You will need to call around and use the following DPCI code: 012-17-0217

If they give you guff, ask that someone check the back. Target’s should be doing this as a customer service. If not; ask for the Lead on Duty.[/quote:2lk8mh49]

this number, for comparison, is how many pressings of the i am one 10" exist or were pressed initially. you can still find these online for $30 or less.

it’s super-high on the demand list now, but even with that said, most people are not willing to pay more than $20 for it. that seems about right to me.[/quote:383q534y]
5,000 seems like a reasonable number to me. Presuming we see them appear everywhere in the Target stores by tomorrow. If not, it might be a pressing in the 1,000 range. Just a wild guess… And with the shirt in a box it makes it a somewhat different release, no? Compared to I Am One 10", I mean.

Talking about stretching… I think that the number 8 is nothing more than a 0 (zero) with a tight belt. No?

    For the international collectors:

Currently there are 3 on eBay. The first one is highly anticipated ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/130784590243 ), but I expect them all to go beyond face value. Keep asking your friends in the US, there are probably still many Target stores with ‘hidden’ stock. Good luck hunting them down everybody!

For the US hunters, there are always Target stores nearby (except for Vermont).

Check out all addresses of Target stores here.

    http://www.target.com/store-locator/state-listing

Target does not sell this vinyl online (yet). I doubt it if they ever will.

Just to get an idea how ‘limited’ this release is, how many Target shops are there in the US? Funny to read that they don’t sell vinyl (we don’t carry vinyl – yes you do lol), and still this chain of stores was chosen for this release. Or does it work the other way round maybe? That Target asked SP to host this release?

I checked my collection and I only have the dvd single. I remember buying it in a music shop when it was released. It was really not expensive back then. But it might have been a somewhat limited release, I don’t know. What is the price on eil.com currently?
