ArthurSpectatorBilly said however that they will be back next year supporting the release of Ocenia.[/quote:2jz2n2h7]
Billy also said Oceania was about, or inspired by, Amsterdam, or the likes. I don’t know…
ArthurSpectatorSame story for the Amsterdam show last night, awesome show. We were now almost front row this time. My friend Anis was even on the fence, and Billy smiled and pointed at her during a really mindbreaking guitar solo (I think it was at the end of Ruby, the I Am One tease part) and she all freaked out hahahaha!
Same order and number of songs, slightly different show though. But the sound quality of the HMH venue is quite a bit better compared to Vorst Nationaal, Brussels, so we enjoyed it even more this time… What can I say… Really glad I went. Since some, or most, European shows are not sold out, we might see this band not coming back for a few years again, maybe…
Will upload some pics in a bit.
ArthurSpectatorMeanwhile my wife Shannen gave me a magazine dated yesterday, with an almost full page interview with Billy. It’s about the concert in Amsterdam, which is not sold out yet, and Billy being a christian these days. Oh my god, now we will have him play on the \"EO-jongerendag\" maybe!
Just kidding
. What I liked in the article (can be found online http://www.spitsnieuws.nl/archives/ente … in-de-here )
Translation: Does Corgan still sound so tormented as he used to, since he is into the Lord? If we read the positive reviews for the US tour the last month, yes. The band is described with superlatives, and next to that, The Pumpkins sound just as raw and energetic as in their early days.
This described it rather well, the concert last night. Smashing Pumpkins are back, with a blow.
ArthurSpectatorHehe, I remember a guy taking that pic during the show yesterday. And I believe that’s me indeed, the \"ducking head\" left of some arm in the air. Funny. Where the hell did you get that pic from, Milan?
ArthurSpectatormust be due to extremely low ticket sales… i guess…[/quote:1xwdcdbk]
No, Billy had a bad dream "nicht throwen zie die kuppen", and then he didn’t want to spend too much time in Germany anymore.
ArthurSpectatorHehe, yeah, true. This was Smashing Pumpkins as they are supposed to rock the world. And tonight I’m going to see them again in Amsterdam. Hihaaaaa!!!
OK, let’s criticize 1 thing then. There was this somewhat quiet part around Pale Horses, that we didn’t like so much. For the rest, the show was awesome. I have always been a fan of Billy Corgan playing & rocking out on guitar, but to see that happen just 10 meter away from me… I had the times of my life there in Brussels. Really.
ArthurSpectatorMilan and undersigned went to see them in Brussels, and man o man… What a gig. Super setlist, and they rocked the roof of the venue! We both agreed that this was 1 of the best, if not the best, performances of any SP setup we have ever seen. From SPLRA:
â¢Quasar
â¢Panopticon
â¢Starla
â¢Geek U.S.A.
â¢Muzzle
â¢Window Paine
â¢Lightning Strikes
â¢Soma
â¢Siva
â¢Oceania
â¢Frail and Bedazzled
◦Silverfuck
â¢Pinwheels
â¢Pale Horse
â¢Thru the Eyes of Ruby
◦I Am One (tease)
â¢Cherub Rock
â¢Owata
â¢My Love is Winter
â¢For MarthaEncore:
â¢Zero
â¢Bullet With Butterfly WingsHighlights for us were some of the songs of the new album, like Quasar & Oceania, and songs like Cherub Rock, Siva, Geek U.S.A., Zero just blew us away. A triple highlight for both of us was an awesome, haunting guitars performance of Window Paine. This song, it looked like it never stopped… and it brought us back to the oldskool Pumpkins of around 1990. But this was really 2011… And we got goosebumps!
The band was spot on, in a really good mood, we have seen Billy on keyboard, and even Mike hit the keys during For Martha… Pretty cool. And they played for almost 2.5 hours, with only a small break before Zero/Bullet at the end…!
And… we enjoyed the Perfect/Ava Adore mixes cd during the car trip…
ArthurSpectatorKewl indeed. Awesome performance.
\"Thirty minutes of beautiful, dirty rock and roll firepower on Lansdowne Street. \"I just saw god,\" quips Bruce at the end.\"
ArthurSpectatorHehe, yeah. I have written 6 full pages already, and you know what? This morning I was invited to play a minor role in a Dutch movie (I’m 1 of the running people during a shopping mall shoot out, the movie is called \"Raw\" and will be hitting the Dutch cinemas in April 2012, hopefully) and I met a lady there that will try to help me publish the story. She comes from a huge media family with actors, publishers, writers, the whole sh*t. She will email me in a few days she said. Fingers crossed!
ArthurSpectatorAwesome jobs you are doing, Derek. The upcoming week I will try to upload a few items also, since I took the week off. Will be working on a book about my lawsuit story too. Few people inspired me strongly to write it, as it is an unique story that would fit in the Occupy movement lol.

WTF?
ArthurSpectatorCongrats, Artie. This should change your life. And by the way, focus on having a healthy child instead of gender.[/quote:69h2ukcb]
Exactly what we are doing.
ArthurSpectatorThanks! What was the exact release date of that track? I want to mention it in the Virtual Music section later…
Same question for Barb Wire, when exactly came that file available?
ArthurSpectatorI’ll leave that to my wife, so far we have not spoken about the sex of the baby. But we know already the girl’s name and the boy’s name, and we just hope that the baby is healthy and fine. Next Monday we go for a Down test, just to be sure.
ArthurSpectatorI also pre-ordered on Amazon, because the price is lower.
Anyone willing to share the SPRC MP3 with me then?
ArthurSpectatorThanks everybody! Yes, exciting indeed, it turns my whole world upside down, let me tell you…
ArthurSpectatorSince a few days I have the cd with these Ava Adore remixes, and Billy is actually right (\"Itâs actually really well done.\"): 1 or 2 of them sound indeed really good. Puffy’s own choice, track 9, for example.
ArthurSpectatorWhy didn’t someone ask \"a home-made reissue maybe? if not, what is the reissueing company?\"
ArthurSpectatorWhen in doubt, always ask the seller for pics and extra info. No answer: don’t buy. Otherwise you get what you bought based on the current description only, and that can still be a homemade cd-r with these songs. Right? Just use common sense, or you will be fooled by your own presumptions or high hopes based on nothing… That’s not buying/collecting, but that’s gambling. Been there, done that, moved on!
ArthurSpectatorI’ve seen such sellers before, also for radio station cds. Maybe it’s an \"official\" boot, but at least this one has no intention at all to mislead the potential buyer with a genuine Metro 88 cd. No pics, no misleading info. Just the songs of that show on a cd. People who think that it might be the give-away promo from the 2000/12/02 Metro show, mislead themself, or are hoping for a lucky eBay shot.
ArthurSpectatorPisces Iscariot is back on the reissue list again for this year!?
\"EMI and Smashing Pumpkins are also prepping a massive reissue series of the band’s entire catalog, set to launch this year and continue into 2013. The campaign will feature remastered editions of all their studio albums with bonus material; 1991’s Gish, 1993’s Siamese Dream, and 1994’s compilation album Pisces Iscariot are expected this fall.\"
ArthurSpectatorHomemade boot, I think.
ArthurSpectatorPffff… for an ugly and crappy bootleg! Makes me pity the buyer.
ArthurSpectatorInsanity rains.[/quote:al6lgocj]
I second that.
ArthurSpectatorI have wanted this poster for years and I was finally able to score it. This was top my my list for a long time…. It is awesome.
