Weird… My experience is kinda different… I think 70-80% of my Smashing Pumpkins collection was send to me, only a small part I found at record stores and – fairs. I had, if I remember well, 2 issues only over the years. 1 eBayer with almost zero feedback disappeared and never send his stuffs (cheap compilation thingy anyway) and his feedback went to negative the weeks after, since more buyers had the same issue with that seller. Bad luck, but out of hundreds of items that were send to me… can happen…

The other issue I had was a promo CD being send to me from the UK, and it arrived broken in many pieces. Seller took full responsibility, but didn’t have a second copy however (which is understandable) and instead, he send a more expensive, rather rare Nirvana CD single (Sliver, UK release).

And I remember that Canadian photo of Billy, 1 of the pride and joy pieces of my collection… It took several months to arrive, and I started to worry big times! The seller said not to worry, as it was shipped the cheapest way, which means it was slowly floating over the oceans towards Europe…

Even from the weirdest countries on the globe, including countries in Africa, South America, Asia… it has always arrived sooner or later. From commercial sellers mostly to be honest, but from many individuals trying to earn a few bucks also! So, overall, my experiences are quite OK so far.

If you are buying from within the US, you could always use me as an address. I have a stash for Arthur currently and one CD for Ayoe should be arriving to my house soon as well. Just throwing it out there as I’m not experiencing the same mail problems you are.[/quote:35jtqhm8]
And this is THE trick for non-US collectors to buy eBay stuffs that are shipped US only. Derek only keeps the most rare items, and he will always ship the rest, right Derek?

Awesome story! That’s how the Sherlock Holmes of the Smashing Pumpkins collecting community grabs his cuties, and nails them down in his jailhouse… Cool, cool, cool! Congrats again!

I found an owner of that Gish Gold cd a few years ago also (in the UK) but never did he want to sell it… And it’s pretty funny (not) when you think of it, as I have many one-of-a-kind and almost-one-of-a-kind SP items, and this thingy came in a release of almost 200, and I never managed to track one down!

The poster does not come with the apartment no :P

And yeah, apartments can be bought here, it is quite common. You do not buy the actual bricks and windows etc, but you buy the right to live there. And in the same wicked way you can buy the right to not pay groundtaxes anymore for the garden (as if an apartment has a garden, except for groundfloor apartments… )

Anyway, it might make sense somewhere, but not in my universe!
So I just paid the money for both rights, and hopefully another person will take it from us soon. Fingers crossed!

I have a list of about 10 CDs I consistantly look for other than eBay and I am very proud to say o found one of them. I just bought a "Gish" GOLD cd and can’t wait to receive it.[/quote:2zrfhd2h]
Congrats! That is on my top 10 list also, together with rarities like Mellon Collie (French promo), several French Adore promos, Zero from Korea, Gish longbox, some Mexican and South African releases…

So yeah, always good to find something as rare as that. Congrats again! How did you find out it is a true item?

    Right. Includes shipment, but still…

That page gave me a sponsored link to Peta2, where \"Now lead singer Billy Corgan and former drummer Jimmy Chamberlin have shown compassion for chickens by signing our petition asking KFC to eliminate the worst abuses chickens suffer on the factory farms and in the slaughterhouses of KFC suppliers.\"

I guess they made up and are friends again. Awwww….

By the way, Arhur. Since you are from the Netherlands….

Are you familiar with this guy? You must be?[/quote:jdxu6hmt]
Hehe, no, I don’t know this guy and his program, since it’s from Belgium. Same language (in a part of Belgium, the other part speaks French), but different country, you know… Belgium is located at the south of Holland. Anyway, this is sick indeed, but if it really happened? I don’t know… Maybe Bram knows?

Bram, next time you go there, you might want to try the Fucking Hell beer! The German brewery is allowed to brew it now!

    http://oami.europa.eu/ows/rw/pages/OHIM … /cs2.es.do

\"The examiner rejected the application the sign used sexuality in order to express contempt and violent anger. The village Fucking in Austria , to which the appellants had referred, had only 93 inhabitants, and no-one knew of it. Furthermore, the right of freedom of expression had to have limits in the case of upsetting, accusatory or derogatory signs.

The Board held that in Christian terms, ‘hell’ is the place of highest torment. It is a place of damnation. In common parlance ‘hell’ is a synonym for something negative and causing torment. If the first word element stands for ‘damned’, then the sign designates only that which according to popular belief happens in hell.\"

    OK, something completely different now.

Our appartment is for sale since a few weeks, and pics can be found online on a Real Estate website:

My guesses were not too bad… 1 went for 58 bucks, 1 went for 79 something bucks, and 1 for 99 with Buy It Now. When I hit eBay for this same promo CD, it wil be for less than 50 bucks, wanna bet?

i think this is from 1993.
    it is mentioned on SPLRA.

i think it says Shudder to Think and The Frongs below TSP.
these bands were the opening act during the autumn 93 leg of the SD tour.

1994 doesn’t seem to work for me. the tour ended on Lolla. a single club show doesn’t really make any sense to me, especially on the same date exactly a year later.[/quote:nhmwkjqs]
You’re right Sven, SPLRA notified me also about this. The error is on eBay then, there it says the poster is from 1994. Sorry for the confusion. However, the poster was a little useful anyway. So far we didn’t know for sure (according to SPLRA) that Shudder To Think opened that night. Now we know!

It might not become much cheaper, I’m afraid. There are a few dozen of these only, at the most! And remember, it’s French… I paid 250 Euro several years ago (including that cool order sheet), and that was a fair price back then. Now it can be considered a bargain I guess…

Nooo… just noticing that there is a little unbalance between the mature you, posting in the looking for a new Ginger topic, and the other you posting secret questions on eBay, and then here in this topic…

Anyway, by the way, 100 bucks is way way way overpaid also, and almost everybody knows that here. That’s why you get the advice to wait a bit, be patient, and grab it in a few months for less then 50. Mark my words. You only grab items on the spot when they are one-of-kind. This cd promo isn’t! But your awesome inhouse tapes are!

Oh yeah, very understandable. Happened to me many times in 1997, 1999, 2001-2003, 2005, basically every now and then between Smashing Pumpkins releases and when I cannot be that obsessed anymore for 1 band only. It’s good to discover there are many many other good bands out there!
