ArthurSpectatorI think it’s a bullshit auction. Look at this bidding pattern, and especially when that person with 1 feedback only retracted his last bid. I’m quite sure it’s a set up, to make that 3***d person pay his max bid. When this bidding war had not happened, the price would have been US$ 2,200. Which is around the price that I think is fair, somehow.

ArthurSpectatorYeah… from somebody with 1 feedback only, and the highest bidder now has only 22 feedbacks… I really wonder if this auction will appear again on eBay… I was expecting around 2,500 US$, seriously, but 10,000 is crazy, absolutely.
ArthurSpectatorTold you it would become overpriced… it’s on US $10,000.00 now…
ArthurSpectatorIt’s on US $1,175.00 now.[/quote:37la3618]

ArthurSpectatorThat doesn’t count.

ArthurSpectatorWe are going to be selling rare and one-of-a-kind items through eBay.[/quote:gwts9y4g]
ArthurSpectatorSoon to be overpriced, since SP.com put it frontpage, and it attracted 4,000 readers already…
Siamese Dream 3M sales award, previously owned by James Iha, his (ex-)girlfriend, the bar manager below her appartment… next owner? One of us here? Not me, anyway. Will it hit the 2,500 US$, what do you guys think?

ArthurSpectatorGuys, I’m happy to announce that I got a job offer from Billy Corgan…
Hehehe, i wished! Keep on dreaming! But I guess some items might be one-off, like demo tapes, early gig recordings and things. If they manage to make good copies, and release them to the fans (FLAC/MP3/CD), why not sell it… Can’t blame Billy for doing that, he must have 100’s of those items. And if it finances the Archive project, then it is to our benefit also. So I think it’s a good idea.
ArthurSpectatorAnd i just bought me this rareity.
[/quote:9ioxfrw2]
Nice! Was it expensive after all?
ArthurSpectatorAh yes, we have that one on SPfreaks also (with the same pics, at that time gathered by fellow founder of this website, Thom).
I was a little surprised to read about the Eye Promo tape, as Davin said it does exist (the pre-Gish tape that is)! He told us that a while back when we met him in Amsterdam. He thought he had a pic of it still, but I never heard from him since… Davin? Reading this maybe?
ArthurSpectatorActually, besides the Eye Promo tape that I had back in the day[/quote:321jv04f]
Uhmmm… kidding, right? We hear everywhere that it doesn’t exist, and even Billy said it doesn’t exist… Do you still have pics of it? Would be cool!
ArthurSpectatorSome of my recent finds….
That’s right kids, be very afraid. I’m back collecting.
[/quote:w5i4zea5]
Welcome back!Nice finds, as I don’t have the BBC 651 yet (only the BBC 581 so far).
ArthurSpectatorSame here, I wrote on SP.com somewhere already that I wished the people fun, those who are subscribing to this, but I’m more interested in the end results, as that will define my private moments with SP, listening to the final products… And indeed, I rather spend my money on the fan club -> Archives things too.
ArthurSpectatorMaybe I should simply conclude not to do icky anymore either, and not participate.[/quote:26u4yzef]
Are you saying you are just as sensitive as Billy? Hmmm… I had thought you would be wiser than that…
ArthurSpectatorOooh, a Rickenbacker![/quote:1dzs5d9h]
You’re good!650S?
@Bryan: nice items anyway, we don’t see that Pisces promo that much… Nice finds!
ArthurSpectatorI agree on that too. Besides, the biggest group of people out there are the non-commenting readers. That group is roughly 10 times bigger as the commenters. A lot of them subscribed anyway (to a total already of 6,000 I guess? I don’t understand that part, to be honest). If I would be in Billy’s position, I would just lift my eyebrow for a millimeter or 2 (max!) to those 75 complainers, and move on.
ArthurSpectator(That buyer will be, ahem… me, ahem…
)[/quote:2t6e3xty]
Bye bye "homemade Japanese promo". I just got a full refund from the seller, as he said it was not genuine enough to his standards. And he might be right, after all. Or maybe the other bidder is sniping it behind my back!Anyway, he will look for compensation, and he already came with a few options, which I turned down. 1 of them might be the Asian pressing of If All Goes Wrong, but I don’t think so. Asked about it anyway. At least this was a nice little collecting adventure again.
