Nobody get mad at me…. this is hard for me, not because I love them all… but because this is one of the albums that I am least familiar with

hey got married in gatlinburg, at the little log cabin in 2002. they have the ripley’s belive it or not there, if you go to pigon forge you might run into dolly, or her boobs.[/quote:385s26vh]

I went to Dolly’s show here in Orlando before it shut down. Never went to the one in Pigeon Forge. We always go see Chinese Acrobats, and the magician. Two years ago we found a cool little reptile place with lots of snakes! We also went snowboarding at Ober Gatlinburg, but only one run was open. Four years ago we went on a helicopter tour! I love the place! The aquarium rocks too!

    Soooooooo

American Gothic. This show is right up that alley. I wonder if the Pumpkins sought out this award show, or if the award show sought out them.

    Hmmmm[/quote:3nnw8uin]
    that’s a good question Manilla….
I think the scream Awards people sought them out….They are under cover Pumpkin fans, plus they had 3 of their songs on the show 1 live performance and 2 in the background!![/quote:3nnw8uin]

I think the awards show sought them out. They are becoming more popular with their music on the Transformer’s movie/album and the Batman song coming back to life with the Watchman trailer. Man my heart melted in the movie theater when that trailer came on. I had to hold my mouth so that I didn’t scream

The point of the judges not viewing this thread is not to disassociate themselves from the artwork owner. The reason they will not be viewing this thread is to keep any opinions discussed in this thread out of their minds, to prevent swaying or bias.

We know whose artwork belongs to who, or else, how would we be able to announce the winner! :D

    8) [/quote:33jkeqif]

No problems, I just assumed that the owner of the site would know who owned the art work and everyone else was judging blind. Anyway, as long as all is good :)

And exciting about sp.com announcing the winner but the 27th seems so far, hehe.

I kinda wish there was another comp to design for, was so much fun.[/quote:33jkeqif]

SWEET We will be one of the first things announced on the newly redesigned site!

I hope there will be more art competitions as well, this was great fun.

one time someone heard my ringtone (today) and we started talking sp :)[/quote:1pjtydj1]

That’s sweet. My husband’s ringtone is normally always SP (it’s "We Only Come Out At Night" right now) and normally my friends get really annoyed when I am texting back and forth with him, so I have to change it every few weeks or months so that my friends don’t all hate SP!

yes, it is my husbands email address, i never use mine, cause we both have yahoo, he gets all pissy when he has to sign in. and yes i said pissy and i ment it. he doesn’t like having to sign in, plus he is always forgetting the password, so i just use his account, much easier to deal with.[/quote:1fly5k2n]

My husband is the same way, so I use a different browser. He uses Chrome and I use Firefox

It never occurred to me to make the set list pretty. I just threw one of my vectored logos in the background!
The third one I saw on Flickr and loved. I’m so sad that it wasn’t a complete package

    …hahaha found rivers and della´s,too!
but what happened to the rules? you know? not to submit until it´s done?
i know i sumbitted my poster on my sites, too…but after they posted it here…
can we submitt our stuff now? no disqualify if we do?
    ![/quote:is3o8kac]

I thought it said not to submit the images in full to the forum. When I asked if we could submit our art to our own websites, they said yes, it’s our art.

I don’t know if it got lost in translation what I was asking, or their answer… or if it’s all fine and dandy. I figured it’s okay to submit after the contest’s deadline. If the judges are being good they won’t look around to find our entries if we’ve posted them on our personal art site.

Either way, even if they know WHO submitted it, I have faith that they will choose the best one for the Pumpkins.

Yeah I saw your submissions on myspace. You had 3 buttons, I was just saying I thought they had to be some sort of backstage, VIP, or staff passes

I’ll message you the direct Flickr Links so that you can see

Wait buttons? I was so confused with the rules, I went to do a button and then thought it was just backstage type passes, so I ditched my round 1" buttons.

You can find me on deviantart ;)

I haven’t pre-ordered because I am going to be out of town for a few weeks when it is released and I want to buy it there and watch it right away. I’ll have to subject my parents to it, since I’m going on a family vacation! HAHA

Sandoz is okay, but there are others that I like better. But hey… I’m always in love with a few songs off an album and then much later I put it back in and other ones become my favorite. So you never know, it might have a chance latter on ;)

I finally posted mine publicly on my art site. Before they were friends and family only on Flickr. I couldn’t handle waiting to share

Twice i’ve had some random guy (one guy serving me at Subway, and another guy at a restaurant) start chatting to me because I was wearing an SP shirt. It was awesome both times. [/quote:3bvb2i1m]

My husband and I know that feeling. I’ve had that experience only with Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer. I have tons of other band/concert T-shirts though; No Doubt, New Found Glory, Dashboard Confessional, Bright Eyes, Blink 182, Brand New etc…. but nobody has ever stopped to talk to me about those ones!

I’m very impressed with the dedication and love of the SP fans. It’s true love, not just a fleeting craze where you buy their merch and then a few years later sell it at a yard sale. Once you become a pumpkin, you will always be a pumpkin. There’s a familiarity and sense of camaraderie among one another. I just can’t believe that I wasn’t a part of it sooner![/quote:f2nihrba]
I tried several doctors, I even did brain surgery, electro shocks and rebirth therapy, but nothing helped.

And then, to think of it, it all started with listening to Disarm… tsss…[/quote:f2nihrba]

    hahahaha….
Disarm was my first too! I actually have video of the first time that I really noticed it and fell in love with the song. (I’d heard SP before, but never payed attention)

Interesting, the part of once a pumpkin, always a pumpkin. It overtook me too. ;)[/quote:pqwho37z]

I’ve loved other bands, been on their forums and websites and street clubs…. but there’s never been anything as powerful as Smashing Pumpkin’s fans

Its kinda simple in its theory. The roots of it all are ‘smashing pumpkins’ what they have grown into is 20 years of that band. [/quote:367r5une]

It’s simple, and iconic and I love it. A tree is perfect symbolism for growth and development. To me it’s even symbolic of how it’s limbs can be lobbed off (James and D’Arcy) and it will regrow and be the same tree. It’s symbolic of the fact that without sun, soil and water (critics, fans, family) the tree would wither up and die. It’s completely symbolic of standing the test of time. I love it.

I can’t wait to see the complimentary pieces! Way to go. You rock

Sounds amazing. I requested a show to come near me in Florida, but I don’t know if it will come to fruition or not. I’ve love to see this in a theater! I’m glad that you four got the privileged to be part of history!
